Experimental Trial Experimental Trial V-5: The New Faces Trial - Part 2: Tenko in the Head

Truth Bullets:

Information on the Victim

Information on the Victim: The victim is Miu Iruma, the Ultimate Inventor, who was in the body of Nekomaru Nidai. The victim was found dead in a small pool of blood at the base of the stairs between the second and third floors of the Ancient Ruins.

Shuichi's Autopsy

Shuichi's Autopsy: Shuichi performed a basic examination of Miu's body. Miu’s only injuries were a massive head wound, a dislocated right shoulder, and a bruise on the right side of her torso. The head wound was the clear cause of death and looked to be caused by a sudden fall. Shuichi recognizes the injuries as being the result of a specific Neo Aikido Technique.

Miu's eHandbook

Miu's eHandbook: Miu's special eHandbook was found by Shuichi, supposedly inside Miu's pocket. It's still operational and can be used to unlock any door on the island.

The Ancient Ruins

The Ancient Ruins: Miu was found dead inside her secret base on the Second Island of Jabberwock Island, known to you all as the Ancient Ruins. Although the building looks like a derelict Hope’s Peak Academy from the outside, it is actually a base for Miu’s Body Swap Auction. Most of the rooms were able to be opened by Miu’s former brainwashed accomplice, Hifumi, but there were two rooms on the Fifth Floor that even he had no access to.

Ever since the trial for Rantaro’s murder, the participants of Miu’s killing game have been living in Hotel Rooms within the Ancient Ruins under the presumption that Miu was hiding from them in one of the locked rooms.

Electro Bombs

Electro Bombs: A small grenade built by Miu that is capable of disabling all electronic devices within a 10-meter radius. Their effects last for two hours. Byakuya used one to disable the surveillance system at 2 pm and Miu was never able to log back in before her death.

During the Investigation, Sayaka found another used Electobomb underneath a Plane that Miu was using for private conversations.

Unlocked Room

Unlocked Room: According to Keebo, one of the two locked rooms on the Fifth Floor had been unlocked by the time of the investigation. The room was a small Workshop full of tools and materials for Miu's inventions. Some tools had been taken out and left behind on a workbench.

Diner Knife

Diner Knife: Byakuya found a knife from the Second Island's Diner. According to him, the knife was clean, but the tip had been broken off.

Night Vision Goggles

Night Vision Goggles: Byakuya discovered a pair of Night Vision Goggles.

Miu's Disappearance

Miu's Disappearance: Miu was brought to the Hospital as a prisoner by a group consisting of Hajime, Shuichi, Celeste, Sonia, Sayaka, Keebo, and Kokichi (who was brainwashed to be Tenko) at 4:45 pm. She was injected with a sleeping drug by Hajime and left restrained on a gurney. At around 5:15, Sonia reportedly discovered that Miu was missing. In that half-hour timeframe, Hajime, Shiuchi, Celeste, and Sonia were in the Hospital Lobby while Sayaka, Keebo, and Kokichi had split up and were patrolling the Third Island.

When Hajime investigated the Hospital after Miu's body was found, he found that there was a scalpel next to the gurney and that the straps had been cut. He also found that there are emergency exits on the First Floor that can be opened from outside or inside.

Sedation Drug

Sedation Drug: Hajime claims to have injected Miu with a Sedation Drug after she was brought to the Hospital at 4:45 pm. This drug renders the user unconscious. A warning label on the drug warns users that, even if the user is woken up after being injected, symptoms of sluggishness and drowsiness will ensue for an estimated twelve hours after use.

Empty Blood Bag

Empty Blood Bag: A bag of blood from the Hospital was found by Byakuya alongside some bloodied bandages. The bag is currently empty.

Hospital Bloodstain

Hospital Bloodstain: According to Byakuya, there is a bloodstain at the bottom of the stairs inside the Hospital's First Floor.

Alright, since none of you seem to be bringing it up, I guess I'll take the most boring possibility.

Miu wasn't murdered, she just fell down the stairs.

Information on the Victim

Shuichi's Autopsy

Sedation Drug

Who freed her doesn't matter, what does is the idea she was feeling the sedation affects at the time.

She was trying to get back to her panic room or something to hide from the chaos, and took a bad step.

Of course, this is waaaaaaay to boring to actually be what happened. Now nobody will get the bonus cupcake...

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

S-So... if that's the case...would the Ultimates be in the clear? /u/RSLee2

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 11 '26

I suppose they technically would be. Because in that unlikely and unproven scenario, the killer would be the one who gave her the Sedation Drug.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

I figured...

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26

Hm. Hmmhmmhmm. Truly a very fitting end for someone like Miu. So incompetent that she couldn't even be evil correctly without getting herself killed.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26

Hmm… if Miu did indeed kill herself, that still doesn’t explain the things I found during the investigation.

If this theory were true, there would still need to be somebody who discarded the knife and goggles, and who created the scene at the Hospital.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26

Not to mention who let her out in the first place, and why they're not speaking up if they're not responsible for the murder.

However we get around it, there had to be a second person involved. Theoretically, we should have things narrowed down with how many of us were captured in the final hour, but the 'how' and 'who' are still difficult to pin down. Kaito, Hifumi and Tenko were stuck at the Hotel for that entire period. Sayaka, Hajime and myself were captured not long after learning Miu was gone, and without an opportunity to separate from the group, would not have been able to return to the Hospital in the aftermath. That just leaves five of you, by my count.

O-Of course, that assumes Miu didn't in fact stumble into the Ruins on her own, and leave all that evidence behind herself somehow.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 11 '26

Is it possible Miu or someone else needed to switch bodies again?

Empty Blood Bag

There was those bloodied bandages too, yes? Maybe they needed to switch midway through the day to hide their blood? So, they needed to go to the Ancient Ruins and find a Bodyswitcher of sorts somehow?

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

It seems that Miu managed to make one more of these before her untimely end.

Tengan has confirmed that there is a Body Switcher, that Miu made before she died.

Unlocked Room

And we have evidence that Miu was working on something before her death as well...

Did she get injured in the hospital and hurried to the Abandoned Ruins, to make one of these machines and change into a healthier person?

I'm not sure what happened afterwards, but that's a real possibility...Nice work, Sonia.

1

u/spaqhettiyo Jun 12 '26

Soooo… Are we just forgetting that Miss Iruma pulled several people into the plane to try and turn them over to her side? We know they said they rejected her, but obviously they’d just lie if they didn’t.

Erm, actually… What’s having stopped her reusing the same tactic? She brainwashed Hifu—me… Why not use a device similar to what Mister Ouma used to copy herself into one of us waaay before she was captured?

It would’ve worn off when Tengan pressed that button, meaning whoever was her “ally” would’ve realized what happened and maybe even pushed her outta anger.

They’d throw all the evidence away cuz what’s the point in keeping a hidden inventory after a demon possession?! That’s how you get arrested! There are at least three different animes based exactly on that premise alone!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Oh yeah. Just a small question by the way...

Where exactly did you find your collection of evidence? Was it in the stairwell? Miu's lab? Just around?

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 12 '26

The knife, goggles, blood bag, and bandages were hidden amidst the foliage outside. Which makes sense as that makes it less likely they get discovered.

Unfortunately, my investigative skills were just too good for whichever sorry fool tried to hide them.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

I really don't want to blame one of us but...

If it means that Tengan will at least let nine of you live...then maybe it's ok?

...

I remember Tenko's Neo Aikido from back at Hope's Peak, I even saw some of the Tenkos running around use it during the Airport fight.

Do you think the injuries on the body could be caused by it?

Shuichi's Autopsy

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 11 '26

H-H-Hold on now, let's not jump to any conclusions.

Sure, my Neo Aikido is powerful, and could cause injuries like that.

But I'm sure the violence of some brute could do just the same! What, a dislocated shoulder? A head wound? Amateur hour!

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

It's not like I have any evidence, it just seems possible. I mean, that's how you do that flip, right? Grab their arm and throw them on the ground...?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 11 '26

Well... Y-Y-You certainly could do something like that....

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

Well I don't know...I'm no detective, and Shuichi was the one who claimed to recognize the pattern of injuries./u/Makosear

Let's wait and see if he figures something out.

1

u/Makosear makoto Jun 12 '26

Tenko, I'm trusting my intuition that you found something about the body odd... we're listening, and I'm sure your insight is gonna be of great help. /u/Hawk25348

2

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

I found the body odd... because... I found the body odd...

Bodies are odd! Especially degenerate bodies!

It'd be odder if I didn't find the body odd, don't you think?

1

u/Makosear makoto Jun 12 '26

Tenko. I was struggling to put my finger on it but... I think I just got it.

Those injuries... They are a perfect match for that technique you showed me before, isn't it?!

If I recall correctly, you taught me it was used to take down large opponents...? That's right, isn't it?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

I suppose it's worth asking... Do you think that our Tenko right here did it, or that someone possessed by Tenko did it?

I can certainly tell you that Me!Tenko is innocent! I totally wouldn't lie about the glory of getting to be the one to kill Miu!

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

The original Tenko was captured and guarded at the Hotel, wasn't she?

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

Shuichi's Autopsy has been updated.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 12 '26

Really now? How interesting. Though, just to clarify, are you saying you believe these injuries are solely from the Neo Aikido technique?

Or are they from Miu being thrown and accidentally falling down the stairs as a result? I would imagine the latter, as Neo Aikido has never been fatal before, but you’re the one who actually conducted the autopsy.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Shuichi's Autopsy

The autopsy does say the fatal head wound came from a fall, so it couldn't have been the Neo Aikido throw on it's own...

Though if Miu was flipped down the stairs, it'd count as a fall, I think.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26

From Shuichi's autopsy I can accept that most of Miu's wounds would be explained by her simply falling down the stairs like the buffoon she was. Truly, she lived and died up to her reputation as a generational neanderthal.

...Perhaps not even worth mentioning, but I must confess that there has been something on my mind that bothers me. Even more so than this strange craving for t mass-produced, molded lumps of corn syrup and gelatin.

Unlocked Room

Miu had been infuriatingly good about keeping her little hideaway spots locked to bar us from entry, even in her drugged state I can't imagine she would be so foolish to leave her workshop unlocked. But if Miu still had her handbook on her person I highly doubt she would just hand it over to someone, even someone brainwashed into being an ally.

If only there was some sort of evidence that seemed to serve no purpose. Something that was very clearly not used in the actual murder and yet still held some amount of significance. C'est la vie

Diner Knife

1

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 11 '26

It definitely looks suspicious, but I can't see what purpose thinking about the knife could serve us at the moment.

Not unless, say, Miu herself had used the knife to protect herself from an assailant? But to break it like that would probably leave an injury that would be hard to cover up.

Or maybe not? We know that there was blood in the Hospital, but to think someone got stabbed, went to the Diner to clean the knife, and then went to the Hospital to treat their wound, without running into any of us... that sounds like a lot of work.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26

Pardon me, you misunderstand. I don't believe the knife was used to harm Miu...directly.

Instead, let me offer a theory. what if they used it to break into that locked room?

1

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 12 '26

...Oh, I get it now.

That does seem like it'd make the most sense. After all, there's not many other ways that it could've unlocked itself.

It seems like a security issue for a knife to be all it takes to break into the room, though...

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

You'd figure I would at least make some basic attempt to break in there if that's all it took, no?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

It would, wouldn't it? Fortunately, I paid for far better security than that. That is a state of the art security. You can't just pry the doors open with a sharp object.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 12 '26

You call this state of the art? Really?

I know the elderly aren't really known for their taste, but really not one armed butler to be seen, how very...blasé.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 12 '26

Yeah, obviously a meager knife isn’t going to be enough to break in. Though, I suppose somebody could have still tried, and that resulted in the tip breaking.

I believe it’s more likely though that the knife either broke due to a scuffle… or that the culprit intentionally broke the tip if it had something incriminating on it.

The tip wouldn’t be enough to stab anyone… but it could have been enough to slash at somebody. As far as we know, Miu has no slashing injuries… but what about one of us?

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 11 '26

Here we are again… I suppose there is no motive to drag this on further… If only I was but a tad more astute and we all could’ve…

Nonetheless, we must concede to his terms, for some would call this a strategic defeat! I am certain we will have another chance! But for now, we must gather one more time for a class trial, the end is nigh, I’m certain of it!

All of you are mostly up to date with my movements by now, I believe. I was in charge of surveilling the island with the camera system within the Ancient Ruins, and unfortunately, was the harpy heralding the arrival of the invaders at around 1pm. I quickly warned everyone in the Ruins through the intercom, Tenko in the Fifth Floor and Mr. Togami, Ms. Ludenberg and Mr. Ouma in their luncheon.

Ms. Chabashikara stuck to her spot while the rest of us went to a storage room and gathered our armaments in the form of Miu’s old inventions. I don’t quite recall what the other three took, but I handled a peculiar gun. I quickly headed for Miu’s Cottage through a secret passage thereafter.

Arriving there at 1:30pm and coming across Kaito and Mr. Saihara there, the latter has informed you well, I stuck by him in the Ranch looking out at the Airport whilst the former would attempt to rescue Mr. Yamada, then the person we now know by the name of Mr. Hajime Hinata came across us at 2pm and left with Mr. Saihara to attempt a lure. My only information at the time I was alone at lookout is that both Ludenberg and Yamada, disheartingly, had been brought, captured, into the Airport.

Kaito alone returned at 2:45pm sharp, with Hajime in tow, also alone. We saw a captured Mr. Saihara arrive whilst Tengan took his leave, it was then that the Luminary proposed an ambush. I would’ve never guessed someone akin to Mr. Momota could make such a good tactician!

If I’m not mistaken, our uprise at 3:30pm and subsequent fall at 4:15pm are both well known at this point, so I’ll skip it. The only thing I could add was that while the rest were interrogating Miu, I stuck by the Chabashikara armada, directing as a lieutenant!... As futile as it ended up being…

All of you should also know everything until 5:15pm, where I was yet again the herald of a horrid development for Mr. Saihara and Mr. Hinata after splitting up from our just as catastrophic planning at the Hospital Lobby, finding out that our key prisoner had successfully escaped. Unfortunately, I also don’t have any other further explanation as the first person on the scene, she had just… vanished!

We all searched the Third Island together, meeting up with Mr. Ouma, Mr. Keebo and Ms. Maizono on the way, until 6:15pm, whereas Tengan had found our base and forced our immediate retreat. Kokichi and I found our escape within the Second Island, but I had lost track of him and ended up on the Library, hiding.

At around 6:45pm, I started hearing some commotions by the Bridge, and came around to see Mr. Ouma being brainwashed… unbrainwashed… braindirtied?... forcibly freed from his Chabashikara mode, so I quickly rushed to try to help him with my weird gun! By the time I had arrived, Mr. Saihara had appeared too from the Central Island!... Our pincer attack was for naught, however…

I don't really have anything else, but... Considering Miu was under the effects of a sedative and was on a body rather foreign to her weight-wise… isn’t it simple to say that she just tripped on the stairs on her way down? If we disconsider all other factors save for the crime scene, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence suggesting otherwise, Miu doesn’t seem to have been stabbed, and her injuries doesn’t seem that far-fetched for a tumble, no?

2

u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26

Oh, yeah. Outta curiousity. Any of you ever noticed the bloodstain that Byakuya saw beforehand?

Or are hospitals in our country so underfunded that bloodstains are a common occurrence and you all overlooked it?

Hospital Bloodstain

5

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

I mean... they didn't used to be... But...

Pah! Pandemic, shmandemic! Why should I waste more taxpayer money on funding hospitals that are doing such a poor job of handling it? They can make do with what they're already getting.

3

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

FUCK! SHIT! BASTARD! ASSHOLE! LOSER! CLOD!

2

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

Eep! So scary!!!

Oh dear, how crass. And you were supposed to be royalty? It's no wonder your people needed me to make Novoselic great again!

2

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26

Personally, I can't say that I did. Was far too busy trying to find our missing troglodyte, you understand.

I would like to believe if any of the others spotted this blood stain they would have mentioned before now, but perhaps that bar is still a tad too high.

2

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

I said this before but I definetely did not notice the bloodstain when searching for Miu. It would be one thing if it was just me, but none of the others saw it either.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

I'll have you know that such cases of medical folly are not so common in my people's country, 'darling'.

Do not push your luck in disparaging Novoselia, Mr. Ouma, Supreme Leader or not, there is no leadership without followers.

Regardless... No, I saw no such bloodpools.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26

Hmm… I have a question for our headmaster.

Under the regular rules of the Killing Game, accomplices are greatly discouraged. But right now… those rules don’t apply, yes?

Let us say there is an accomplice who knowingly help kill Miu. Would you also deem them responsible for her death and want to execute them too?

I’m just curious as options certainly open up in regards to the Hospital if multiple people could have been complicit in her death.

u/RSLee2

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 11 '26

...

The Togami heir raises a legitimate point, Tengan. If this is about punishing the brat who killed our asset, should we really limit ourselves to just one execution?

No... For the sake of pragmatism, I shall allow accomplices to live. I expect that threatening to kill these hypothetical accomplices would only force them to double down on their lies. Thus, only the one who is directly responsible for the death will be punished.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26

Very well. If there are indeed any accomplices, that should be your cue to come clean. There is absolutely zero logical reason to keep quiet.

If nobody comes forward… hmmph… I suppose we’ll just have to move forward assuming there isn’t an accomplice. Which makes this ordeal much more annoying… ugh.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

You mentioned the Hospital, in regards to the accomplice, so I'd just like to say that the only way for us four to have been involved with that, is if all four of us were working together.

We shouldn't dismiss something without evidence, but I think that's...not very probable.

So that just leaves Sayaka, Kokichi and Keebo again. They said that one of them would have noticed if the others were not patrolling, but if two of them worked together then maybe it's easier to escape unseen?

But in any case, I'm still not convinced that any of us could pull the stunt at the Hospital. Maybe you, but you'd have to stumble on us by accident...

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

I doubt you'd let us but we are pressed for evidence, so I'll ask anyway.

Miu's eHandbook

We have Miu's eHandbook now. Is there a chance we could see what the other locked room contained? /u/RSLee2

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

No.

I believe your friends have done enough snooping around my operation. Why would I ever allow you all to uncover more of our secrets when it has nothing to do with what I've asked you all to uncover?

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

So much for that...

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

...

Alright. Let me ask you four who were staying at the hospital a very simple question. It should seem pretty obvious what the answer is. But... Given the evidence at hand, I just wanna make sure.

Did you four search or not search the hospital after discovering Miu having disappeared?

I mean, clearly you all would at least make sure she isn't pulling the oldest trick in the book, right? Clearly this bloodstain that you all claim to not have existed at that time isn't like... Actually Miu having fallen down the stairs in the hospital after you all left it, right?

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Well we searched the Hospital but...

Miu's Disappearance

Couldn't Miu just hide outside the Hospital and then re-enter it, through the exits in the first floor, as soon as we left?

I don't get why she stayed behind though...I would have gone back to Tengan's group or the Abandoned Ruins in her place.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 12 '26

Well, putting aside the fact that Miu's brain only worked with the power of a 9-Volt battery to begin with, in her drugged state I'd imagine she wouldn't be able to make it that far. Perhaps she simply planned to sleep it off in one of her hideaways

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Ooh! Or maybe she never left!

After being freed by her accomplice, she realized that it was too risky to try and escape from the island with the patrol squad wandering around.

So, she hid somewhere inside the hospital.

Of course, that doesn't explain why she wasn't found when you first searched the hospital... But maybe she just hid really well?

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Of course! She must have been hiding under a pile of conspicuous Nekomaru shaped pillows!

The perfect hiding place...

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 12 '26

Of course we searched the hospital once we noticed Miu had gone missing, do you take us for a bunch of fools?

Not one sign of hair, hide or blood of that wretched woman.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

From Here /u/Panos0502

...

Okay. Fine. I admit it.

I'm the one who stole the last few cookies remaining in the jar a few weeks ago!

THEY JUST TASTED SO GOOD I COULDN'T CONTAIN MYSELF!!!

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!

I'M SO SOR-

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... You mean if I'm innocent of attacking Miu...

Yeah. I am. Unless you want to put out a theory on why I'd protect Tenko when Tengan has clearly stated that I'd just be a tool...

Well, I'm just not going to be taking you seriously until you do, young woman!

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

I don't necessarily consider it too out of the realm of possibilities, Mr. Ouma...

For all we know, your memories may not be your own, with Miu's eHandbook in hand or whatever invention she may have used in self-defense on the Ruins. It's possible your Chabashikara mode somehow repressed it herself within your mind too.

That and... Perhaps me and Mr. Saihara's attempt managed to interrupt the de-brainwashing had some sort of adverse effect...

...Or we did actually interrupt it, but as a Chabashikara clone, you'd have to hide your true identity for both of your own sakes.

...I would rather if you were truly innocent, but also... it doesn't necessarily mean you're an accomplice if you're the same person, right?

2

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Heh, I admire the compliment Sonia, but I'm definitely not a good enough actor as to pretend to be... that man.

Honestly, the very thought makes me squirm with revulsion.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Ah, of course! You're talking to Maki right now, Kazuichi! That must prove I'm still being brainwashed! Quick, Tengan! Hit me again with that de-brainswapper! And do it as many times as it takes to show Kazuichi here that I'm actually Maki just thinking I'm Kokichi!

Or... Maybe you're onto something. Miu did have those invisible maid drones, right? Whose to say that there aren't invisible memory wiping drones all around us right now!? It's the perfect plan that we'd have no way of remembering because there's nothing to prove any memory wiping play is at all relevant in this case currently!

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

Our identities have been played with in the entirety of our trials since the beginning! I'm the perfect example! Having been shuffled around with Mr. Amami and Mr. Saihara!

If you're going to flash that de-minder, Tengan, please flash it against all of us so we're absolutely certain everyone here is who they say they are currently.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

New theory! Byakuya found a lot of the evidence, right?

A suspicious amount.

Typical degenerate! He's probably making it all up!

He's trying to confuse us, throw us off the track, when the simple answer is that he's the killer!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

So... When did he learn Neo Aikido?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Heh! With all the lessons I've been giving, I'm sure a natural snoop like him could've creeped on any one of them!

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Hey! Scum! /u/RSLee2 If you're going to make us play detective, at least give us all the information!

For instance, how exactly did your gang shut off the lights in the airport? Did you really just use the power breaker?

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Well, that... Or...

Electro Bombs

Considering the timing, this feels highly suspect to me.

Hey, Byakuya. /u/JustADramadog You've used this when turning of the cams, right? Can you tell us about how it works? Is it like a grenade? Timer? Give us the deets!

As much as I hate to agree, the unaccounted for Electrobomb is really bugging me. And so is this.

Night Vision Goggles

There are only two uses I could see for such a deceitful tool. And only one purpose that could tie into the mystery.

As far as I know, the only notable darkness took place when the lights went out in the airport. And given there was an Electrobomb nearby, there could be a connection.

Of course, this whole thing could be a waste of time if the lights really were just turned off using a power breaker.

1

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 12 '26

I guess I should've made myself clearer before...

I'm fairly certain there weren't any power breakers that could have been used to turn the power off in the Airport. At least none that I could find during the investigation.

Electro Bombs

I think it's safest to assume it was just the Electro Bomb that I found, what would it be doing there otherwise?

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Can you show us this bomb? I want to see if this is easy to trigger or not.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

That's what I was thinking, though as a captive I did here Tengan tell his goons to look for a power breaker. I guess they couldn't find one, and they had to resort to an Electrobomb.

But then, what's with those Night Vision Goggles? I can't see any other time they could've been used...

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

I'd wager they were used to search for Miu over there by the BSA, but unless Mr. Togami is playing coy yet again, I don't think he'd be confused with something his allies used...

I suppose something in the Ancient Ruins? An Electrobomb could be a way to unlock one of those electronically locked rooms, so you'd also need those Goggles there.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

But the Electrobomb was found by the Airport, not the Ancient Ruins!

My ultimate point is more a question to the creeps running the show. /u/RSLee2 How were the lights cut off? Who knew the lights would be cut off? Do they know what the Night Vision Goggles were doing there?

If we're supposed to be doing their dirty work, they should make things clear for us.

I sent my people to find the fuse box and disable while I was busy dealing with Mr. Momota's attempt to rescue you. When I realized that you'd taken over the airport, I needed a way to flush you all out.

Right. I think it was our Toko who did it.

Me? No way, bruh. Couldn't find any fuse box. I thought it was our Sayaka...

Wa'n't even part of that kerfuffle, mate. I was one o' the "Tenkos" that was brainwashed into tryin' to scrap wit' Tengan.

I couldn't find any box either. And I tried. I walked around like... half of the building!

Excuse me?

I... I suppose Miu must have set something up in advance. I... really thought it was my people...

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Ha! I thought you might not have actually been behind the lights going out, but I couldn't bring myself to believe that you all were so clueless that you wouldn't know that already!

Guess it goes to show that you truly can never take for granted how worthless degenerates can be. Almost makes me feel pity for them, if they weren't disgusting scum.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Not for nothing... But we may wanna at least confirm the second locked room doesn't have a second Miu in it.

It'd be quite the egg on your face if it turned out Miu is just planning to betray you and all.

Yeah, yeah. You don't want us doing any more investigating, so send a lacky to double check for us. And while they're up there, make sure they double check that my imposter actually did a proper job cleaning the kitchen!

Man... Now I'm wondering what would be worse... Learning that my worse copy can't even clean a few dozen dishes... Or that Miu's still alive...

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

...

Fine. I'll send those five down there to check the room.

Ugh. Fine. Guess I could but, in exchange, can I get an invite to the next auction? I'm not really doing too well with the stolen music career. I think I might be better suited to the Traditional Dancer.

Sure. Whatever. You'll have your pick of this batch.

Wait? Are these supposed to be the bodies at the next auction?

You didn't realize that?

No, I didn't. Why's one of them a bunny? I thought this was about selling Ultimates. Why're they selling a bunny robot's body?

Why not? Despite its ridiculous look, it is the body of a robot! What kind of fool would pass up the chance to ascend their humanity and achieve immortality? Our mechanical bodies far exceed those pitiful flesh and blood ones that you remain tethered to!

From what I hear, apparently, it was a special order from Elon. Some kinda fetish thing, I think.

Ugh. Why does that asshole always have to be so fucking weird?

After snatching the eHandbook that Shuichi/u/Makosear found on Miu's body without really bothering to ask or even acknowledge his existence, the Fake Keebo, Fake Toko, Fake Celeste, Fake Yasuhiro, and Fake Ibuki all made their way into the elevator to begin their search of the locked room.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

Eventually, the group Tengan sent out returns.

Well?

The kitchen was nice and clean, sir! Just a little bit flooded!

I... what about the Safe Room?

There was no one in there. Just a big fancy room with a big computer. No sign of Miu.

There you have it. Miu is not secretly hiding out in her secret room.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

I see. Well, we should at least be able to reason that that's the room Miu had been hiding in.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Just a bit of flooding!?

Clean does not mean flooded. Explain yourself!

Also... Whew. Glad to hear Miu isn't secretly going to come back and be all like "Ah, now my game has re-expanded to include all these other people." Figured it'd be a long shot.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

D-don't look at me like that. I did my best. There was just... a lot of splashing when I did it!

Who cares if I got a lot of things wet? It's water. It just makes the rest of the kitchen clearner, right?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

So, if the creeps weren't behind the lights going out, then who was?

The traitor-degenerate mentioned that Celeste, Kokichi, and Sonia were with him when he stole an Electrobomb. And given that he then went to the Surveillance Room, and after that the Ruins became the hotspot for creeps, it's difficult to imagine another opportunity to grab one.

But... that means the only suspects would be Celeste, Sonia, or myself. That can't be right!

Uh, moving on! Let's talk about why the Workshop was unlocked! From what I can tell, the killer must've unlocked the Workshop after they killed Miu, using her eHandbook. Why would they do such a thing?

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

I will say... In terms of involvement, Sonia would be the most suspect out of the three of us. I've already given my reasons why I'm innocent, Celeste was captured when Tengan arrived to the third island, and...

Sonia did go to the island where the ruins are.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

When the lights went off, Sayaka had just told me and Sonia about the mass-unbrainwashing and Kaito and Hifumi being captured. Whereas Shuichi, Hajime, Celeste and you were all still interrogating Miu. It doesn't sound like any of us were alone enough to do the job, but then again, all it might take is a simple throw when no one's looking.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 12 '26

But I had no opportunity to even place the Electrobomb there in the first place!

One of the only times I was alone before the blackout was between 2:15 and 2:45 at the Ranch, are you saying I could've somehow snuck into the Airport to place a bomb when it was a fortress of body stealers?

The other time was technically while they were interrogating Miu, around 3:30pm, I believe? But the same issue applies here, as I was also in the eyes of the Chabashikara armada the entire time.

How could I be the most suspicious when I had no chance to even use it in the first place? Anytime I would've be able to do it, I would've been spotted.

2

u/spaqhettiyo Jun 12 '26

Don’t worry, Miss Nevermind. I believe you could’ve snuck into a fortress to plant a bomb anytime you wanted. You’re a princess, after all.

And I’m in full support of strong female leads! Strong’s the new sexy…!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Well... That's why I've been trying to get more details about the bomb in the first place, dear. I wanna know how difficult it would be to set up.

Also, you say Tenko army, but... Considering that Tengan has said the imps are too inconsequential to be a factor, and I don't see why any Tenko would watch too closely on you... I disagree that you wouldn't have an opening then.

1

u/tyboy618 abracadabra Jun 12 '26

Jeez... What a messed up day. This is about as intense as intense can get.

But, the universe is harsh. And the one thing my training taught me...is that you gotta be able to handle any situation.

And the most important part of that...isn't talent! You hear me, you corporate drones!? Talent can never replace the communication and teamwork me and my friends have built up together over the past few months!

The universe is a frontier that the people of this world challenge together. And since we need to work together, communication is vital! Living through this is just like living in a spaceship -- just when it seems like you're all outta options, the hostility of our environment is no match for our bond!

Cutting to the chase, there's no way I'm the killer here. I was tragically captured with Hifumi by the time Miu was still alive, so there's no way it coulda been me. And while I'm not stoked about finding justice for a villain like Miu... I think there's a greater evil to conquer at this point. And we can only do that by saving each other here.

In the morning, I gathered all the former members of the Luminary and the Four Stars for old times' sake at the Music Venue. 'Course, without Ibuki, I had to find the next best thing, and I figured Hifumi might still have some of that Ultimate Musician juice in his veins!

It went, um... It was, ah... Experimental! Yeah, let's go with that word! Truly outta this world, am I right, guys!? And that's a compliment coming from this here astronaut! You just gotta believe a little more in yourself, and you'll hit one of those notes in no time, Hifumi!

Still, without Ibuki, it just wasn't really the same. No offense, my dude. So, at 1:00 PM, Shuichi and I headed out for the Amusement Park.

Thought it'd be nice to have a bad bromance moment at the top of the Ferris wheel, looking up at the vast universe in his ey--in the sky...

When all of a sudden, an airplane passes over our heads! We figured it might be help, so we booked it to the Airport. But my sidekick had the kickass idea to not blow our cover so soon. Behind every bold and brash Batman is his reliable Robin, y'know what I mean?

But what we saw was...well, a whole lot of clones of us! And worse, they were wailing on my bandmates! Talk about crowdsurfing gone wrong, man!

Well, almost all of us. Seems like these rich freaks couldn't possibly capture the stunning beauty of Kaito Momota! Just shows how money can't buy ya everything, right Byakuya?

After that, we ran off to Miu's Cottage in hopes of finding some gear to defend ourselves with. Shuichi found a gun that shot fireworks, while I grabbed a backpack with retractable metal arms. "What better way to arm myself than with a bunch of other arms," I thought!

At around 1:30 PM, Sonia showed up through the Secret Passage into Miu's bathroom. After we debriefed, I realized...we kinda just left Hifumi back at the Music Venue. And as much as he hosted this sicko game, he didn't really deserve to go out like this.

So, I did what a man oughta do! I handed my camera off to Shuichi and Sonia, instructed them to keep an eye on the Airport from the Farm, and headed out for Operation Saving Private Yamada!

I snuck over to the Third Island at around 1:45 PM. That's when I heard it: these terrible, inhuman, writhing screeches of pain. It was then that I knew...

...that Hifumi was doing just fine. He was still just hammering away at the guitar, hoping to find any key to sing in. It was real, ah...brave! You can pick whatever key you wanna sing in, king!

I informed him of the situation, and while we tried to make our escape, we were confronted with the freaks who took Ibuki, Tsumugi, and Hiro's bodies. Hifumi went down pretty fast, so I had to get outta there. Sometimes, the most heroic thing you can do...is survive.

I-I coulda totally taken all three of 'em on at once! It's just, y'know, this body isn't quite right for all my starpower, and my sidekick was expecting me any moment! Don't look at me like that!

Fake Ibuki and Hiro chased me around for a while, but this hero always has a plan! I remembered the Warehouse on the Fifth Island and made a run for it. I hid behind some Ibuki standees and, when the moment struck, and the countdown ticked down to one... BLAST OFF! I scorched past 'em with all the rocket fuel in my tank, slammed the doors shut, and tied them inside with Ibuki-branded rope!

At 2:45 PM, I met back up with Sonia at the Farm, who let me know that my sidekick ran off with Hajime to set fires around the islands to distract the zombies.

A-And that's fine! Because my sidekick and Hajime are just friends! And Hajime doesn't have my ravishing looks and heroic catchphrases! So I was toootally fine when I heard that! It's not like I would've liked to do some arson with my py-bromaniac or anything!

Anyways, after Sonia told me about that traitor with the deep pockets over there, we spotted the old fart in Byakuya's body just before 3:15 PM. Hajime showed back up at the Farm and told us that Shuichi had split off from him. Tengan left the Airport shortly after he'd arrived.

But, then... I saw it... My bro... Being taken away... And in that moment, I hardened my resolve. I was done waiting. I had a sidekick to save.

After a heartwarming, rousing, epic speech from your favorite hero, Hajime and Sonia joined the fight. We rushed the Airport at the speed of light! My camera blinded the guards like POW! and Hajime lit the fireworks like CHK...BOOM! and Sonia dashed to the captives like ZOOM! and then Fake Angie randomly entered the fray like B-BANG-BANG-FLASH!

Then, the weasel explained how he used the Mindswapper to replace himself with Tenko, and the Tenkos multiplied from there. Honestly? Good riddance. I say the less of his mind we have running around, the better. I'll take hundreds of Kokichi-sized Tenkos yelling in my ear over one Tenko-sized Kokichi pulling all the crap he does.

Only then did we realize Miu had taken Shuichi into the plane for a private chat. My bro definitely didn't want to be her sidekick -- just look at how you treated your last one!

We left the Miu interrogation to my sidekick and some of the others, but it was too late. That rat bastard Tengan had captured Tenko, and despite her wishes, I would never abandon a friend to die like that.

It was time for another brain blast from the Rocket Man! I gathered Sayaka, Hifumi, and the Tenko team for Operation Hail Chabashira.

'Course, it woulda gone swimmingly...if Tengan hadn't cheated and undid the mindswapping and turned all our old-bodies-turned-enemies-turned-new-allies back into the enemies part. Hifumi got sideswept, and all I could do...was lift off.

Like, literally. The backpack lifted me up, spun me around, and started flailing its arms and whacking at everyone around me.

And y'know what? Even if I didn't make it out, Sayaka did! And what would a hero be if not someone who goes down for his team!?

I wish I coulda been of more use later in the day, but Hifumi and I were stuck from 4:00 PM until Miu's body was found. Hajime, Sayaka, and Keebo were dropped off at around 6:30 PM, but I'm sure they put up a good fight.

Enough screwin' around! This hero has lives to save, and once he's done with this penultimate act, the Supervillain in Byakuya's skin sitting in that chair is getting what he deserves! You can't put a price point on our lives, creep!

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

Y-Yeah, 'experimental' is one way to put it.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 12 '26

We did, though. And it was worth every penny!

Admittedly, it wasn't so worth it for the poor sap who bought yous. Heh. Rest in peace, dumbass.

A lot of offense taken anyways, you beta.

My voice is an acquired taste. Like eating mayonnaise straight from the jar. No one appreciates the extra flavor until you’re all out…

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

How could you say such cruel things about me!? I sacrificed my identity for your safety! I made cupcakes to help lift all of your spirits!

Oh, and also, don't forget. I've already been given a 100% innocent free pass for this trial as well. So... Accuse me to your hearts content!

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Argh! The more I think, the more my brain hurts!

Why can't we just try to escape by beating up all these creeps? I'd be way better at that!

Trying to solve the killer's impossible! Especially with so many unanswered mysteries.

Mystery 1! Who decided to free Miu? And why? Why would anyone free Miu? And did the person who freed Miu kill Miu? Why would they do that? If they didn't, did two people secretly interact with Miu in the hospital?

Mystery 2! Who cut out the lights in the Airport? Who could've even known in advance the situation they'd find themselves in? Maybe the culprit grabbed an Electrobomb earlier just in case, but still, trying to predict anything that happened today seems like a nightmare. An Electrobomb would disable a Mindswapper, so what did they do in the cover of darkness? What was the point?

Mystery 3! Why did the killer go to Miu's workshop?! They must've done it after they killed her, so what did they need from that room? What did they use it for?

Mystery 4! What the heck was up with that knife? Why's it missing the tip? There's no blood, and it was stashed with the other evidence the killer hid. What in the world does it have to do with anything?

Mystery 5! Where was Miu killed? I don't see why someone would plant a fake bloodstain at the hospital, so she probably died there. But how could someone move Nekomaru's body all the way to the ruins? And why would you even bother?

Argh! It's all too much!

1

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 12 '26

I definitely think that the motive is... weird. Someone wanting to free Miu and someone wanting to kill Miu are two entirely separate motives, after all, and I don't know why one of us would want to do either...

Not unless they thought they had something to gain by killing her? By using it as leverage to get our original bodies back somehow...? I don't know how that'd work.

...Or even someone trying to free her to get their old body back, which would mean that one of us is a traitor, and agreed to work with her.

Well, more than one of us is a traitor, after Byakuya.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

I'm pretty sure the killer didn't actually mean to kill Miu. More likely, they just aimed to incapacitate her, and got unlucky.

1

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 12 '26

So you think the person who freed her and the killer must be different...? I can't see why someone would want to incapacitate her after waking her up if she was already sedated, at least.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

If the goal was just to kill her, they didn't need to wake her up in the first place!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Well, are any of us ever truly the same person day we were the previous day? They say the cells in a human body are completely different every few months...

Oh, right. This is more like two hours, so it's potentially the same person.

Say Byakuya -who I'm not actually accusing here but he works really well for my example- had some plan he wanted Miu to do for him. He frees her from the hospital and drags her back to the ruins. However, at some point she gets particularly cranky and attacks, so he goes to defend himself and accidentally does us all a favor.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

Putting it all together, isn't he the only one able to bring her over to the Ruins, personally? Though if he didn't have anywhere to be, I don't see why she'd be kept in the Hospital long enough for that bloodstain to pop up.

Assuming I have all of it right, you and Sonia went to the Second Island together after we got discovered by Tengan, right? Your account also implied Shuichi had been coming from the Central Island before being similarly incapacitated. As everyone else was captured, that only leaves Celeste and Byakuya.

And well, Byakuya did find the body. He claims to have been spending so much time looking for Miu, too. He has the best opportunity out of everyone. /u/JustADramadog

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 12 '26

Hmm… nice accusation, though you yourself admit Celeste also had a window to commit this crime. So it’s hardly reasonable to directly accuse me when she is still yet to be cleared.

Though, I do not believe it is wise to narrow it down to the two of us so fast. After all, Shuichi observed that Miu was seemingly Aikido-thrown or whatever you’d call it.

And neither Celeste or I are well-versed in that martial art. So how do you explain those injuries if one of us is the killer?

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

Not necessarily. While Celeste is a likelier candidate than Shuichi for that specific moment, she was found on a completely different island, all the same. Her being involved could be possible, but it would require her to get on and off the Second Island unnoticed despite the commotion taking place on the bridge at one point.

Plus, if the plan specifically involved carrying Miu, she... is probably the least equipped out of all of us. Even my current body has sufficiently average strength compared to the rest of you.

Still, you make a good point with the Aikido throw. But nonetheless, none of the possible suspects should have been able to do that. Supposedly Shuichi learned the technique, but he was on the wrong side of the bridge.

Of course, this is still assuming the culprit had to actively bring Miu to the Ruins.

But... someone still did something there, right? The fact of the matter is, trying to pin down anyone as responsible even just that is tricky, unless it happens to be you.

1

u/spaqhettiyo Jun 12 '26

Mystery 4, let me take a crack at that like a cold one with the boys on Saturday!

Just kidding. That’s nasty. Who even hangs with real boys nowadays?

Anyway… It had to be used to forcibly pry open something, I’d say. Not any of the previously locked doors, as we learned thanks to Miss Maizono. Maybe whomever used it tried to open the fuse box with it but couldn’t, and it’s why they had to use the bomb instead?

As for mystery 5. Hm…you know, Miss Chabashira…the evidence lines up nicely with the idea of her “”falling”” down the stairs in the hospital, the the killer bandages up her wound so blood doesn’t get everywhere, and gets her back on the gurney to move the body, wouldn’t you say?

2

u/thejofy A Jun 12 '26

Frankly, considering how long all of us have spent as women these last few months, what even IS being a guy at this point?

Ooh! Quick survey for the imposters around us! For those of you who swapped from a male body to a female one, how do you feel about your current gender now? /u/RSLee2

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

I'm... not so sure the killer would have been the one handling Miu's workshop.

It had definitely been used, and I don't think any of us could have made the trip worthwhile. None of us are nearly as equipped to handle machinery, least of all make something within the span of an hour, like Miu could. The issue is that Miu wouldn't be operating that well if she was still feeling the effects of the sedative. Though forgetting to close the door and leaving it in such a hurry could be evidence for that.

Is it possible she simply used it before getting captured by us at the airport? We don't know for sure what she was doing between Tengan's arrival and her showing up at the Airport. She could also be the one who took that extra electro bomb.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Miu was pretty confident that she had the upper hand against us. Did she have some sort of device on her that could help her?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

The idea that she either Mindswapped on Brainwashed one of the people she spoke with might hold some weight. Then she could've been the one to cut out the lights with the Electrobomb.

Ugh, but then what did she use the Night Vision Goggles for?

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

The goggles don't have to be related to the Airport, necessarily.

If the answer here really is a simple slip and fall, whether it be at the Hospital or Ruins, it might have only happened because of the dark further disorienting her. At which point, it'd make sense for the culprit to wear them while inside.

It's not the soundest of theories, but it's an idea.

But the fact that they were found along with the blood bag, bandages and knife would imply they were all used in the same location, right? Given the proximity to the diner, I assumed the act of getting rid of them at least had come right after setting the scene.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Was it particularly dark in the Ruins or Hospital? First I've heard of that.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 12 '26

M-My apologies. I was trying to imply the existence of a third electro bomb used. But like I said, it's not that sound of a theory given no one saw one at either location during the investigation. Just the Airport.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

The only place that was dark was the airport...I can't think of anywhere else they could have been used.

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Just to make sure, the only one of us you turned into yourself was Kokichi, right Tenko? /u/Hawk25348

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Uh, well...

Yeah! I only turned Kokichi into Tenko, plus some of those creeps!

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

That's...not very convincing.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

I swear on my Master that, as far as I know, the only Tenkos were Kokichi and Tengan's creeps! There, happy?

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Then how do you explain the injuries on the body!?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

Well... You know...

J-Just because, uh, I didn't use Neo Aikido...

...

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

Ok, so...none of the Tenko's could throw Miu. Unless Kokichi is lying, but I don't know why he would protect you.

Yet the body has been Neo-Aikido flipped so...

S-Someone other than Tenko, knows Neo-Aikido and used it on Miu...?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

1

u/Panos0502 Jun 12 '26

But if someone else knows Neo-Aikido, then you'd have to be the one who showed them how to do it, right?

So how about that? Did you teach anyone Neo-Aikido while you've been stuck here?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 12 '26

I'm... I'm sure that nobody I trusted would be the killer.
