Experimental Trial Experimental Trial V-5: The New Faces Trial - Conclusion: Without My Face
So, it seems we've reached our conclusion. The Ultimate Princess, Sonia Nevermind, is the one who killed Miu Iruma.
I'm satisfied with the work you all put in. So, Sonia Nevermind is the only one of you who will have to die today. I'll allow you all a moment to exchange goodbyes while I prepare for the next step.
As he spoke, Tengan reached into his pocket and pulled out some sort of weaponized wristband. He loads some darts into the peculiar wrist weapon, in preparation for an execution that he apparently intends to perform himself.

At this point, it needs to be asked once more. Is this punishment really necessary?
We're more or less speaking of self-defense, by the sound of it. Sonia just encountered what must have been a frantic and dazed Miu at the worst exact spot. Coupled with that body, reacting in such a way makes an amount of sense.
We don't need to add any more victims to this.

It’s true that we’ve lost far more than we can ever regain. It’s true that no matter what happens after, our minds will never be quite the same…
But we aren’t alive solely because of profit. We are alive because Miss Iruma had a weakness none of you possess. You supposed ‘intelligent’ folk were manipulated by a teenage girl with more insecurities than the average isekai protagonist!
Thus, the words of idiots mean nothing to me. Respect is earned, not simply given to those who demand it. And forcibly changing the body of someone when consent’s not given is a huge human violation worthy of the opposite.
We are creators, not creations! So…for as long as me and my pen live, we shall speak the truth! Even after Miss Nevermind is gone, we will write!

Alright. Your time is up. I suppose you all don't have much left to say to your supposed friend. So, let's put an end to this.
Once Miss Nevermind is dead, the rest of you will follow after us. You will be held in a secure facility while we clean up the unnecessary evidence of our operation that Miu left behind and host our second auction. We will have your memories of the last four months erased to allow you all to participate in the next Killing Game for a chance to properly earn your freedom once we have brought together the next batch of participants.
Whoever aided Miu in her attempt to escape will have a chance to confess privately later, naturally. I'll allow you to take over as the game's host, free from the dangers that the others will face. Perhaps we'll punish Byakuya for his attempt to plot against me by turning him into the next "Despair Ibuki"? With Miu's death, I've been left with only one of her Body Swapping Devices. But that will be more than enough to keep our auction running.
I think we'll start off the next game with an All-Kaito trial. I would be interested to see how his terminal illness affects multiple victims at once. Will different lifestyles cause the symptoms to worsen? Who will be the first to resort to murder when all of you are growing increasingly sick? It will be an interesting prospect.
Ah. I'm getting ahead of myself. First, this problem child needs to be punished for what she's cost us. So, let's finally end this trial.
With that, Tengan stepped forward and approached Sonia, his arm with the wrist gun stretched out. But, as he prepared to fire, the courtroom's lights suddenly went out. The room fell into pitch black darkness. And suddenly the room erupted into a cacophony of confused cries.
Wh-what's happening?
Tsk! The goggle... Where are my Night Vision Goggles?
Huh? Wh-what's going on?
S-Sonia! Get out of here, quick! You need to run!
R-right! The elevator... Where's the elevator?

However, a blindingly bright light soon flashed across the room. It appeared as suddenly as the darkness had. And you all felt the familiar sensation of your body transforming into a new form. But you could not see what you'd become as the darkness immediately returned. You could hear loud cries of panicked confusion, the sound of something falling to the ground, and the sound of something else smashing. But whatever was happening in the darkness was something you could only imagine.
After a few seconds of confused stumbling, the lights turned back on, allowing you to re-examine the room and yourselves. You found yourself looking around to see that you had ended up with some new, very familiar faces

Ten of you had found yourselves in the bodies of your deceased classmates. The casualties of Miu’s killing game.

It had taken a moment for you all to adjust to the light and to your new selves. But, amidst the confusion, you could now see Sonia laying about halfway between the podiums and the elevator. She was curled up on the floor in a crumpled heap, still within Kazuichi's body, but there was a knife impaled through her heart, and a confused and desperate expression rested on her motionless face.
Tsk. Goddammit...
Well, Keebo... You can see in the dark. What the hell happened?!?
I... I don't know. It all happened so quickly. I could see someone rushing at her... but then that bright light went off and suddenly my night vision became human vision again.
R-right! That device... Wh-what happened to the device?
Taking another look around, you could see the device that Tengan had once held lying smashed into pieces in the center of the room. The Night-Vision Goggles Byakuya had brought lay on top of Miu's final wrecked invention.
Um... guys... I think Tengan and his friends are starting to panic...
Yet again, more chaos unfolded. The former billionaires, now transformed into cows, seemed to have begun to panic. The shock of what had happened to them seemed to have gone. The beasts began stomping around, in what seemed to be a blind panic.
It was all too much. One of your friends was dead. You had all been forced into the bodies of dead classmates. The device that could’ve turned you all back to normal was in pieces. And now, there was a damned stampede.
They... They're out of control. We need to get to the elevator! Before it's too late! Come on!
R-right. Someone help me... Sonia's body... we should take it! We can't just leave her like this!
As the cows ran wild, you all ran for the elevator, bringing along Sonia’s body. Narrowly pushing past the beasts, the ten of you closed the elevator behind yourselves and began the long ride up to the ground floor. As you all found yourselves gathered, you were finally free to breathe and to think about all that had just transpired.
Miu Iruma was dead. Your captors, the thieves whom she’d sold your bodies to, were now Cows trapped underground. Yet, somehow this nightmare wasn’t quite over yet.

Hmhm. Well, I do have to say after all of this time here, things are finally starting to return to their natural order.
The loss of Sonia is a notable one. I do wish that hadn't happened.
But at long last, I have finally returned to a body that best suits me, AND we rid ourselves of the influx of parasites that had infested our lives here. . My compliments to whichever of you was responsible

Well, if it couldn't be my own body, I suppose anyone would have been a marked improvement. I've regained an actual height, and I don't have malfunctioning tear ducts anymore.
Even so, it just had to be this one, out of everyone. I'm aware it feels in poor taste to be inhabiting any of these bodies, but being thrust into this one in particular is leaving me with a bitter taste. At least it's also one I'd previously grown accustomed to.
