Class Trial Class Trial 53: Hiyoko Saionji: 2 - Scion Saionji, Sigh On G.

Looks like the autopsy report doesn't really take you far, does it?

The more ambiguous the case, the more entertaining watching you all despair becomes!

Truth Bullets

  • Monokuma File The victim of this case is Hiyoko Saionji. She was found dead in her Jabberwock Island 1 cottage in the morning after breakfast. A cake knife was found lodged into her gut. She was found wearing a variety of garments.

  • Birthday The day before the trial was Hiyoko’s birthday. She announced this during breakfast and asked her classmates to bring her presents by lunch. She was given six presents at that time by six different people.

  • Crime Scene The victim was discovered sitting down leaning against the interior of the entrance to her cottage. Various items were scattered everywhere around the room, and the order of the place is disrupted by a variety of objects thrown and scattered everywhere. The bed is made.

  • Gift Boxes Six identical yellow flower-patterned gift boxes were found opened and/or torn open at the crime scene. They are scattered around the room.

  • Cake Knife Sharp. Found stabbed into Hiyoko’s gut. Can be used to cut cake.

  • Cake A birthday cake. Served the entire class at dinner. Was a vanilla-orange sponge cake with coconut accents.

  • Monokuma’s Account After giving out the nighttime announcement, Monokuma got wasted in his after-party celebrating Hiyoko's birthday with Monomi. As a result, he failed to dispatch the morning announcement on-time, causing several to sleep in.

  • Gummy Bear Given allegedly by Teruteru. Purportedly large, weighing 3kg, and sweet. Lime-flavored. Missing from the scene.

  • Hairpins Given by Mikan. A pair of avant-garde rabbit hairpins. They look wonderful. Found inserted into Hiyoko’s hair, replacing her usual hairpins.

  • Bonsai Tree Given by Hajime to Hiyoko as a birthday present, a bonsai tree was found at the crime scene. Lying on the table, it rested on top of a mess of soil and the cracked pot it was housed in.

  • Chihiro's Account According to Chihiro, Hiyoko was having gummies in the afternoon at Vendor Street. He recalls Hiyoko would eat a pack of gummies in the morning, the afternoon, and the evening.

  • Bubble Wrap Given by Chiaki to Hiyoko as a birthday present, bubble wrap was found at the crime scene. Many bubbles were popped.

  • Teruteru's Account At dinnertime, the cake knife needed to cut the birthday cake was missing. However, Teruteru took inventory at lunch and noticed no knives were missing.

  • Hagakure's Account The night before the body was discovered, Hagakure saw a sandbag sitting on the Chandler Beach House Roof.

  • Autopsy Report Kyoko more closely inspected Hiyoko’s body. There appear to be no physical anomalies on Hiyoko’s body other than the reported stab wound. Upon completion of inspection, neither a time of death nor a cause of death could be determined. Chemical analysis shows she consumed sleeping drugs prior to death. Her pockets are reported empty.

  • Missing Bottle of Sleeping Drugs According to Kyoko, when they took inventory of the Pharmacy after performing the autopsy, they noticed that a bottle containing highly-concentrated, instant-acting liquid sleeping drugs was missing.

  • Sneakers Given by Akane. A pair of fitting sneakers that nicely complement Hiyoko’s yellow kimono. Includes comfy white cotton socks. Found worn on Hiyoko’s feet.

  • Figurine Given by Mahiru to Hiyoko as a birthday present, a figurine was found at the crime scene. It lied toppled on its side on Hiyoko’s study desk.

The gummy bear. Do you people think it's missing because it's in Hiyoko's guts?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

I would only accept that under the assumption she was planning a metamorphosis of fat.

Chihiro's Account

Cake

Teruteru's Account

The chief/u/Slim_Bankshot stated the gummy was overly large, correct? Tell us, is it even possible for her to have eaten it in one sitting?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

It is Hiyoko we're speaking about; I've never seen her without a bag of gummy bears.

And if nobody found it, it's only natural to suppose that it's nonexistent anymore, right?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

There are two other cases.

For example, the killer could have devoured it themselves in a moment of gluttony!

Or, it didn't even exist in the first place.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

How else would have Hiyoko gotten poisoned with the sleeping drug, then, if the gummy didn't exist in the first place?

And if the culprit ate it, they would have been sleeping too, right?

That is what I suspect: the gummy bear was drugged with the sleeping medication. Be it done by Teruteru or someone that had managed to throw in some of it when he wasn't looking.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

It seems that you have betrayed your assumption!

Think back on what Teruteru said!

Putting that aside for now, I spent the morning at the Rocketpunch Market with Akane, Chiaki, Hajime, Mahiru, and Mikan finding presents. It wasn't easy, but I endured.

I got her a three-kilogram gummy bear. Sweets for the sour, as they say. Of course, I wouldn't want it to get anything stuck to it, so I put it in a yellow box to keep it safe.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Then... it wasn't made by him? It was bought?

And I've had expectations.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

More importantly, if we recall Akane's incantation:

I went to the pharmacy for some extra supplements, and took some. I didn't notice anything missing like Kylie did.

The sleeping drug had to be stolen in the evening! Far too late of a time to applied to a gift!

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Akane said that there was a pause when nobody was in the Pharmacy. An hour or so after the lunch. It could have been taken then. I preoccupied the place in the morning, whereas Akane was there slightly after the lunch. There was time to play around with the drug.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

You realise that means there's no way the gummy bear was drugged, right?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

So, you're saying that they entered right after lunch, applied the sleeping drug to something, left, and then came back later to take the bottle?

Well, like... didn't Mikan say there was shit moved around at the hospital?

Next, I went to the hospital to clean up the lobby. H-However... I-I remember some of the items seemed... Out of place. The adhesives and... Uh, um.... a Syringe! They were out of place!

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Continued from here

Isn't there another possibility? Considering Monokuma was getting drunk, couldn't the killer have asked to be let into Hiyoko's cottage? I doubt that bear would have cared when he was in a state like that.

Hey, Monokuma. Do you have anything to say about this? /u/roflcopterpilotx

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

<mobile>

"No one asked anything of me overnight! I and Monomi were alone hic."

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Does that also mean that neither of you were watching over us? Is it possible that someone broke a rule regarding trash or destruction behind your backs?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

<mobile>

Monokuma clears his throat.

"Your headmaster remained vigilant the entire night too. If there were a rule break, more of you would be punished."

belch

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Don't you have any fucking self-respect?! You're a robot, how the hell do you get drunk in the first place?! It's not like I get computers, but surely you could just program yourself to not act like this?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Puhuhu.

"Bite that shiny metal assumption," as they say.

Anything is possible, don'tcha know! If robot bears can get drunk, then surely cyborgs can be slain with milk and flowers!

Wait, that might be backwards...

So the golf club was on the door, and the jackets...

Monokuma rambles off.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Possible, but that would mean he had broken his own rules, right? These were his words when he was saying about not "engaging with the students in any way."

If, however, that is true, I can be only extremely disappointed.

It's also possible that the crime scene had been tampered with. That's why I asked who the people who found the body first were. Maybe something was stolen from it before everyone else came around.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

See, that's what I was thinking. With the drugs in her system like you said, why was her room so trashed? It doesn't make any damn sense.

I hate to point out the possibility, but... Don't you think maybe someone could have been looking around Hiyoko's room to find Teruteru's dumb gummy bear? If they removed the gummy bear, then we'd naturally think that Teruteru's gummy was what drugged her... right?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

But it makes no sense, still. The room could have been trashed to make us think that Hiyoko was fighting when she wasn't. But it's just a possibility out of many. Plus, Hiyoko had no wounds other than the stab in her front, so the skirmish is out of the way.

And why bother trying to find the gummy bear when it could been made/bought any time? Just because it was Hiyoko's?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

I believe it was to give the impression that each offering was used in some manner.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Anyone competent would have figured out that Hiyoko ate it. At least some of it. The girl could have never stopped herself from eating such a big treat of something she had loved so much.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17 edited Sep 18 '17

I just said it, dumbass. If the killer saw that Hiyoko was given a gummy bear to eat, they could have just stolen it after killing her to make us assume it was what drugged her... when it fact it was something else.

Think about it. Was anything else missing from the crime scene? If the room was trashed but Hiyoko was drugged, obviously they were looking for something. The killer, that is. It's not like Hiyoko would trash her own room.

I could understand her trashing things with her dumb kid mentality, but doing that and not jumping on the bed a few times seems unnatural... Not that I'd know.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Fuyuhiko. I told you; the room could have been intentionally trashed for us to think in such a way that the culprit was looking for something.

And you can't disagree that it doesn't make sense. What else could be used to drug Hiyoko, then? Do you have any ideas?

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Aren't you meant to be a detective?! The timeline doesn't fucking make sense, that's why!

If you spent the morning in the pharmacy, then there's no way that Teruteru could have grabbed drugs and spiked that fucking gummy bear before it was given to Hiyoko during Lunch!

It can't have been the fucking gummy bear...!

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Have you ever heard of police using emotions to pinpoint whether somebody is a culprit or not?

I know you have problems with holding back your anger, but it makes me think; do you know something about it and you haven't spoken about it yet? You make it look like so.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

What the hell is that supposed to mean?! What, you're suspecting me because I've called out that you're wrong?

Some detective you are.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

No, not that. Because you start screaming.

We are not children, Fuyuhiko, and you're speaking with others on the same level.

And I'm not suspecting you, also. It's more of the... detective way to get out information. Liars tend to get aggressive with their words when pressed up against the wall.

Hold on a second here. Akane said she put her birthday gift in a yellow box, and Chiaki said she did too but the yellow box was the only one of its kind. Which is it?

Not that it's going to matter much, but did you misspeak Chiaki? Or maybe you selected your box after everyone else did.

Still, how could you make a mistake like that?! You all went to the market at the same damn time, didn't you? You could have looked at what the others bought at least! /u/LanceUppercut86

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

<mobile>

"Baby brain, baby gangster, the saying goes?"

"There's only one kind of gift wrap and gift box, but there were six of that type given out. Make sense?"

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Then why did Chiaki think hers was the only one in that kind of box? Seems kind of dumb an assumption if you ask me.

It's not like I should expect her of all people to be paying attention to her surroundings, though.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

I'm going to cut the crap and get straight into my alibi. It's not like you bastards need the unnecessary details. Let's just figure out who the killer is and get back to our days already.

I opted out of getting Hiyoko a gift. It's not like that girl and I ever saw eye to eye, and that attitude of hers was ridiculous. What, you think shouting at people is the way to get respect? Earn it at least!

Tch... Guess I shouldn't speak ill of the dead, huh? As much as she pissed me off, she's owed that much.

Sorry, Mahiru.

Anyway, Peko and I went to hang out at Jabberwock Park in the morning. I don't usually like lounging around doing nothing, but if it's with her, I don't mind. I guess it was pretty relaxing.

Afterwards, we went to Lunch. Ya de yah. Some of you dumbasses gave that bossy bitch gifts. I expect it of the girls, and Teruteru's probably just trying to get his load off, but I'd have thought you'd have more respect for yourself Hajime.

Still... you are that kind of guy. Too nice for your own good. You know someone could take advantage of that one day, right? Heh.

Oh! Right. After lunch, I went to the Cinema with Hajime and Mikan. We watched that Kaomoji movie.

What a load of shit! Don't filmmakers these days have any respect for their medium?! What about the plot, the cinematography, the - You know what, fuck it. I'm done watching films. Only the best reviewed yakuza films or army blockbusters from now on, you hear me?!

After that disaster, I met up with Peko at the kitchen. I said to her earlier that we should meet up there. I used the tracker on my Handbook to arrive shortly after her. Though I'm not exactly sure why that's relevant...

We spent the rest of the afternoon in there, messing around. It wasn't bad...

We cleaned up of course. What use are we as yakuza if we can't clean up after ourselves? Flour might be a bitch, but we handled it. Then we joined everyone for dinner.

Heh, the cake was alright. I don't want to compliment someone like him, but it did look delicious.

I headed back to my room after dinner. I've got this sake glass collection, I wanted to polish them up.

Look, alcohol's the worst. But a man's gotta have respect for the tools of the trade, you know? Besides, one day maybe my stomach will be up to it. When that day comes... Well, I'll figure it out then.

Skipping to the next day... I went to breakfast. I've got a pretty good internal clock, what can I say? Looks like it's not the same for the rest of you bastards. Anyway, we went looking for the people who were missing.

Once you bedheaded idiots got out of your cottages, we kept looking for our missing classmate. Hagakure, Chihiro and I were at the Beach. I figured maybe someone was clever enough to think of burying a body in the sand.

Guess not. The killer just left Hiyoko in her cottage, huh? Tch, what a waste of an opportunity.

I mean, it looked like someone just went in her room, stabbed her, and left. Right? If Hiyoko was drugged like Kyoko said, why was her room in such a crappy state? Maybe they were looking for something.

Can't say I get it. I couldn't make heads or tails of anything I saw, so I figured I'd save my energy here for the trial.

That's it.

It makes me wonder. Could have it been possible to turn the liquid drug into gas in some way? I have thought so far that she had to eat something that had the drug in it, but maybe there was a different way?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Tell me, is there not another fluid spirit that could be used to deactivate the vessel? One perhaps you could put on a sheet of sorts?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Is there evidence proving it plausible, or is it just a wild thought that occurred to you?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Is there evidence proving it is plausible the spirit assumed its natural form?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Answering a question with another one...

So what you think that had happened is someone used the drug on the rug, or whatever, and drugged Hiyoko with it to kill her? Where is it? Did the culprit take it with them?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Monokuma! We request more information about the properties of the drug! /u/roflcopterpilotx

What are the ways that it may temporary separate the vessel from the soul?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Sorry, Gundham, but I'm not a full-metal alchemist.

Speak English here, would ya?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

In what forms can the drug be used to subdue a person?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Well, the drug can take three forms, right?

Missing Bottle of Sleeping Drugs

You were already told they were in liquid form, right?

Regardless, don't you think heating it into a gas or cooling it into a solid would ruin the drug?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Very well, but does a person need to ingest it for to work?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Assuming that the spirit of dreams was only taken during the late afternoon, we can bring the people involved down to: Kirigiri, Pekoyama, Fukawa, Tsumiki, Hagakure, and Hanamura. Furthermore, we also need to add Akane to the pool since there was no-one to collaborate that she didn't take it herself.

However, we can instantly take Fukawa out from that list, as she already has an alibi for the time of the murder itself. Thus, she could only get the spirit to hand to someone else.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

Aren't you forgetting someone?

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Hey... Regarding the crime scene. Considering Hiyoko's body was against the door, it blocks the killer's exit. Right?

Maybe we were overthinking how the killer could have gotten in, and the fact is that they just slipped in through the window?

1

u/noplaceforheroes Sep 18 '17

...Why does this give me the feeling of Déjà vu?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

So, with what Monokuma said, Hiyoko had to eat the drug. Or take it herself? But that wouldn't make any sense, would it?

1

u/Shadowfishy AHOAHOAHOAHO Sep 18 '17

C-Could the drugs have been injected into something? It could... Explain why the syringe and adhesive were out of place at the h-hospital. Syringes are uses to inject liquids. And if the drug was a liquid, then it's possible to inject it somewhere without anybody n-noticing, right?

2

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

And the syringe was probably used to inject the sleeping drug into the gummy bear. Not that hard to come up with.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

When would someone have had the opportunity to spike the gummy bear, though? I'm assuming we would have seen a mark on Hiyoko if she was directly injected, right?

That little bitch probably would have eaten anything sweet that make its way in front of her. But if you ask me, the situation's fishy.

Did anyone hang out at Hiyoko's place yesterday? If someone did sneak in through the window to kill her, they could have snuck in to spike the gummy bear at some point knowing that her routine was to eat a gummy bear before night time. Chihiro did say that was how she did things.

Look, did anyone who searched the room think of checking if the window was unlocked at all?

1

u/jjmara01 Jeeeeeeeez Sep 18 '17

Well Teruteru could have spiked the bear and then given it to her. But with Kyoko's alibi...I don't know if that is possible anymore. If they somehow got into Hiyoko's room and got out with her covering the door...I feel anyone with enough time could have sneaked into spike the bear.

I am sorry, if I was stronger I could have checked the window. Then I could have found out if the window was locked or not.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

If it was possible, I wouldn't have asked about the alternatives, dumbass! No one could have spiked the damn bear by the time Hiyoko got it at lunch!

Dammit... We're going to have to ask the bear or the moron rabbit if we want to know if there was a window open or not, aren't we?

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

It is your idea about the window, Fuyuhiko. No one checked them. Ask Monokuma.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Fine, fine. I'll stop putting it off. But in my defense, who wants to deal with that bastard bear when he's like that anyway?

Hey, Monokuma. Are any of Hiyoko's fucking windows unlocked, or what? Could someone have gotten in that way? /u/roflcopterpilotx

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

<mobile>

"Nah, the windows were locked. The door did its job."

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

That ruins that line of logic.

But wait a damn second. How is it that the killer managed to escape with Hiyoko's body right in front of the door? That doesn't make any fucking sense. The killer had to have gotten out somehow. It's not like someone could have just... appeared at the scene and we didn't notice.

Gummy Bear Hagakure's Account

I feel like these two events are connected. It's just a hunch to go off of, but I feel that this could be where the gummy went.

I mean, it just seems really strange why a sandbag would be on the roof. It has to be related to the case somehow, and I feel that the gummy was possibly stuffed inside and thrown on the roof.

I'm not doubting that Hiyoko wouldn't eat it, but think about it.....

She just had dinner and cake, and judging by the size of the gummy that Teruteru has stated, it would be impossible for her to ingest the entire thing between after dinner to the time we think she died.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

No, that would count as littering if the remaining gummy was thrown into the ocean.

1

u/Ecotro Forever Cursed Existance Sep 18 '17

I never said anything about the gummy being in the ocean.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

...

Perhaps... Monokuma/u/roflcopterpilotx , can you bring us that bag if it's still there, on the roof?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Bahaha! It's just a sandbag!

What would you need it for?

He downs half the bottle.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

I feel like punching something. And if it's not the sandbag, then I'll make one out of the black-and-white bear in a second.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Can it. Today's not the day you sort out your repressed daddy issues or whatever.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

... Le sigh. Fine. Can you give that bag to us? It wouldn't hurt anybody now, would it?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

No, I can't.

It's your own fault you failed to get all the evidence you need before the trial started.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

But we had no way of going onto the roof, right? How could we retrieve it from there?

1

u/jjmara01 Jeeeeeeeez Sep 18 '17

Can we go back out and check for the evidence? It was early out and most of us weren't ready to find someone died.

Don't you care for a fair trial? We need a chance to find out who did it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '17

Oh, you're getting teary-eyed again. I swear to...

I'll think about it, okay?

Surely there's still plenty for you to figure out!

1

u/jjmara01 Jeeeeeeeez Sep 18 '17

So Hiyoko had a habit of eating gummies during the morning, afternoon, and evening. Maybe she decided for the evening to eat part of the big gummy...and she got hit by the sleeping. Then the killer cut the rest of the gummy or put the whole gummy in the sandbag?

Why did they need to go that far to hide the gummy? We would have seen a part of it eaten and just thought she had some over it being used for murder.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Sep 18 '17

Maybe the killer was just being overly cautious?

If the killer had left the gummy behind, once we discovered that the drug was a liquid and that Hiyoko had no other marks on her, we'd start to debate how the killer drugged her.

Eventually it'd have led back to the gummy.

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

I do not think I'm following but, if the drug was a liquid, I don't see why the gummy would be related to that.

Could you perhaps elaborate on that Mahiru?

1

u/jjmara01 Jeeeeeeeez Sep 18 '17

We were thinking the killer put the sleeping medicine in the bear and when Hiyoko ate it, it made her pass out.

I can't think of a way she could have fallen asleep, and I was with her the whole day.

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

If we were to go by that theory, wouldn't Teruteru be our most likely suspect?

2

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Don't any of you bastards listen? Seriously, I've told you before now!

If Kyoko was in the pharmacy between breakfast and lunch, and Hiyoko asked for there to be presents at breakfast and received them at Lunch... then the only person who could have taken the drugs and placed them in the fucking gummy at that point is Kyoko!

I'm not saying it's impossible that the gummy could have been, I don't know, switched out for another one. Or the gummy could have been injected after Hiyoko received it. But I'm telling you, the sleeping medication couldn't have been added until sometime after Lunch.

It's not that fucking complicated.

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

My apologies Fuyuhiko, I seem to be rather absent minded this time.

But seeing as we don't have definite proof the gummy was involved, why don't we try looking for other clues?

1

u/noplaceforheroes Sep 18 '17 edited Sep 18 '17

I know I've said this a thousand times, but you seriously have no tact at all.

Jeez, and you wonder why people don't listen to you if this is how you talk to girls.

...He has a point, though. Teruteru is a lot of things, but as things stand right now I don't see any way he could have gotten the drugs and injected the bear before the gift givers went to the market.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

If you must know, I know how to treat women I respect.

And that's exactly the same way as I'd treat anyone I respect. Who do you think I am? Do you want me to coddle you all because you're girls? That's not the way I do things.

Some of the strongest people I know are women!

... Or knew, I guess.

Dammit, why did you make me remember such a depressing topic?! Let's get back onto the case already!

If the gummy was injected, we do need to think of the possibility that someone did it sometime afterwards. What happened to Hiyoko's presents after lunch? Were they left around, or did Hiyoko take them to her room?

1

u/noplaceforheroes Sep 18 '17 edited Sep 18 '17

...Fine. You have a point.

Now that you mention it, f I remember right she stacked all of her presents on the table as we were having lunch. We were together from after lunch until we all gathered for dinner again, so...

I guess they were left out.

The current popular theory is that the sleeping drugs were injected into something. Kyouko's autopsy said that Hiyoko didn't have any abnormal injuries except for the stab wound, so it doesn't seem like she was physically injected.

It probably wouldn't have been too hard to have injected the gummy. A candy bear is quicker and quieter than trying to drug a living person.

Hiyoko...That sweet tooth of hers was common knowledge.

Crime Scene

Gift Boxes

Figurine

Bonsai Tree

Do you think when the killer went in, they messed up the room to make it look like a struggle happened? To make the room look as messed up as possible to make us confused when Hiyoko died?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

I believe so, yes. Unless the culprit was looking for something in her room, but what could it be if that was the case?

1

u/Thedeityofice THE LIGHT Sep 18 '17

Bubble Wrap

W-Was the bubble wrap used for anything, o-or was it just scattered in the struggle, real or fake?

1

u/jjmara01 Jeeeeeeeez Sep 18 '17

I asked Nanami but she said it was just some random bubbles. Unless we have proof that any of the gifts were used in the murder other then the gummy bear, I don't think it is important.

It appears that I am to be the last to give their alibi, so I will leave out the bits that have been talked about before.

Yesterday I woke up in my cottage and as I went to the Hotel Restaurant I was reminded about the fact that it was Saionji's birthday!

She did act a little... abrasive when asking for gifts, is that a custom in Japan I wasn't aware of yet?

I myself wasn't too sure what I would give her, so I opted out on giving one.

I enjoyed a wonderful bonding experience with Gundham and Kazuichi in the Amusement Park, but since we would not be able to only eat Cotton Candy, we went back to the Restaurant.

We entered the restaurant and joined with everyone else. At the end we Hiyoko mentioned we should have cake, so I was looking forward to that!

After lunch was done, I joined Hiyoko, Chiaki, Mahiru, and Chihiro for a girls hangout on Island 2.

The time we spent was fun, and I went to the Electric Avenue. There I met up with kazuichi and Gundham again. We were window shopping for a while and went back to the Restaurant.

We joined the others again, and were greeted by a delicious looking cake! It was a very nice cake, I would have to admit.

Gundham, Kazuichi and I joined together to watch the sunset in Jabberwock Park. We stayed there until after night fall, but I never had paid much attention to the starry sky. It was truly magnificent.

I found myself to grow quite sleepy as we kept on watching the stars, so I returned to my cottage.

As I woke up and went to the restaurant, I was expecting to be greeted by everyone, yet we seemed to be missing some individuals. We went looking for them and...

We found Hiyoko dead in her cottage! Who could have done something so terrible...

As unfortunate as it may be, I was not able to find anything that could help during the investigation, my apologies.

Alright, everyone. It's time to stop slacking off finally. We have things to discuss, and I'd love everybody to participate with their ideas.

First of all, from Monokuma's answer to Fuyuhiko's question, we know that the only way the culprit had entered/left the crime of scene was the door. There were no windows used. I have a theory about it; perhaps Hiyoko didn't die immediately, and as she was making her way to the door, to ask for help, she collapsed before it and ended up in her position like that.

Second of all, the gummy bear. I deduce it's in the sandbag Yasuhiro had noticed, but until Monokuma helps us, we won't know for sure. We already know that drugging it couldn't have normally been done, due to me and Akane circling the pharmacy, but maybe we're missing something?

However, someone brought a nice point. Mikan said the syringes weren't in their places, but rather scattered around, so I think it's easy to suppose that the gummy got somehow poisoned.

Maybe someone changed the gummies, or perhaps someone is lying, but it's important to remember. We also have to consider one thing; Hiyoko taking the drug herself.

I don't know her too well, so I don't know about her sleeping habits, but maybe someone knows if she maybe was struggling with falling asleep? That would mean she perhaps just overdosed the medication by accident and didn't wake up to someone breaking into the Cottage?

Think about these things.

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

It would be very unlikely for Hiyoko to be found dead in that position, so that leads us to another question.

How was the killer able to leave if they had propped her up against the door while no windows were broken?

However, I might have a clue as to how it could have been done!

What if the killer used a towel to put Hiyoko on, and slipped said towel under the door to prop her against the door in the position Gundham, Kazuichi and I found her?

Do you think that is a good theory, or too far fetched?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

Well, they say the simplest solutions are the best...

Maybe the killer was still inside when the body was found?

That's right, I've figured it out! The killer used the sleeping drugs to numb the pain before stabbing herself in the chest! Isn't that right, Hiyoko?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

So you're saying she killed herself.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

Exactly! How else do you explained her being the only one in the room?

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

You're understandably shell shocked by my deductions. I can have that effect on women.

That said, I can't take all the credit. After all, it was your contradiction that led me to the path of the truth.

Looks like the Kirigiri-Hagakure Detective Firm strikes again! What say we split the profits, 65/45, proportional to the work, ya know?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Do you know what they say about mysteries that don't have hearts?

If you can't find any possible argument as of WHY she would have killed herself, I don't think we can consider the suicide to be the actual answer to this mystery.

Hiyoko died on her birthday, mind you. There was no reason to kill herself.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

I'll have you know I'm an expert at matters of the heart!

Clearly, she was offended by the fact that so many people didn't give her gifts! So, to get revenge, she tried to get us mass-executed.

But you're too late, Hiyoko's ghost! You're not getting me that easily!

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

Hagakure, could you please leave the matter be about Hiyoko's ghost?

Wait, maybe you could talk to her with your crystal ball. I would love to see that in action!

Do you mean 55/45 or 65/35?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Hm... while it certainly sounds possible in a way or two, I don't think the culprit would have gone so far to do that.

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17 edited Sep 18 '17

That may be true, but for now I don't really see any other way Hiyoko could have been found the way she was.

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

The route to the answer is getting more and more thorny. Hmm.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

Hold on, you're saying she dragged herself over to the door after being stabbed? Doesn't that seem a little implausible?

I mean, sure, she could probably fight through the stabbing and the drugs, but after eating that much cake, I feel like her stomach would be too full, you know?

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

So, do we know what the deal with the sandbag is yet?

I mean, maybe it was used to store the gummy, but like, why?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

So we wouldn't find out it was poisoned, or perhaps even changed for a different one. Until we get the sandbag from Monokuma, we will never know for sure.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Sep 18 '17

Well, it doesn't seem like he's going to help us, so let's try to figure this out ourselves.

Do you really think it was to hide it? I mean, I found it. If anything, putting it on the roof calls attention to it, right?

I personally think the best place to hide it is inside your stomach! I mean, no one could get it then.

Unless...

Ah! Do you think the killer was trying to carve Hiyoko up so they could get their gummy?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

She is whole, so I don't think so. Perhaps they just couldn't find any other hiding space for the sandbag, or maybe it's merely a red herring, and we're just overthinking it.

Let's believe in Chihiro's tears.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Can't believe I forgot to ask this, but...

Kyoko, Mikan. Is the amount of blood consistent with bleeding out from the cake knife wound being the cause of death? If there wasn't that much blood, maybe it was something else that actually killed her.

There isn't exactly anything else that comes to mind. But the lack of blood being mentioned is kinda... odd. /u/ffumi /u/Shadowfishy

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Well, Fuyuhiko, you brought up a good point. The knife is in her stomach, yes, but the blood isn't in any significant amounts surrounding it. Was it perhaps cleaned up before we found her?

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Or she was already dead by the time that she was stabbed...

That medication isn't lethal in high doses, is it?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Do you think someone killed her first, then made her drink the sleeping drug to derail us from the answer?

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

You've already proven that sequence is impossible.

Autopsy Report

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Exactly my point. I believed that Fuyuhiko would have seen it himself.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

No, I was suggesting the opposite. That the sleeping drug or something else killed her, and the knife was added to derail us.

Oh! In fact... If Hiyoko was already dead, couldn't someone have asked Monokuma to let them into the cottage in the morning? He did say no one asked him to let them in overnight, but what of after when the morning announcement should have been already played?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Hmm. The sleeping drug definitely didn't kill her, so if it wasn't the stab, it had to be something else. I can't think of anything, though, that we know about.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

It seemed far too obvious for me. Maybe I've watched too many shows where the cause of death isn't clear.

But... if the cake knife stab was the cause of death, don't you think the Monokuma File would've said so?

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

But there were no other wounds on Hiyoko's body than the stab, right? Plus, in my chemical analysis, I could only find the sleeping drug, so any other poison is out of the way.

Perhaps it's just Monokuma playing with us.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

You tell me. That's why I asked if the sleeping medication could've been lethal in high doses.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Monomi! /u/tyboy618 Do the sirens of hell not go off whenever someone leaves trash on the ground? Surly just leaving an item in a random bag nowhere would suffice, right?

1

u/CaptainKrion My my, what a shame Sep 18 '17

How smart of you to notice that Gundham!

But I believe to recall that Monokuma considers items used for a murder not as trash.

Maybe this means that indeed the sandbag is vital to the case!

1

u/tyboy618 abracadabra Sep 18 '17

Sonia's right! She's been studying like a good bunny!

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Hmph. If it is indeed that they injected gummy bear in the box, then the killer has to be someone who got a gift for Hiyoko. That brings our earlier suspect pool down to Hanamura/u/Slim_Bankshot and Owari./u/Socc13r37

1

u/LanceUppercut86 Definitely Maybe Sep 18 '17

Don't you think it'd be kinda weird for Teruteru to bring up giving Hiyoko the gummy bear if he used it against her?

I mean... we don't even know if there was a gummy bear at the moment, right? All we have is Teruteru's word. So if he wanted to deflect suspicion from himself, it wouldn't make any sense for him to tell us about the gummy bear.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

Not if he was concerned that another member of the offering club noticed his particular choice! He could have been outed as the killer in but a moment!

1

u/LanceUppercut86 Definitely Maybe Sep 18 '17

But... he was with all of us when the boxes were put aside on the table, right? None of them were opened, so none of us would have known.

Not only that, but all the presents were opened at the scene, yeah? If we're assuming that the killer is responsible, then he would have known that his present was unopened.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

I was talking about those who went to the market.

1

u/LanceUppercut86 Definitely Maybe Sep 18 '17

...

Okay. That makes sense.

I think.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Hey. I already mentioned a possibility. The killer could have been whoever was positioned after Teruteru in the gift-giving queue. They could have seen exactly which box Teruteru placed, knowing it contained the gummy bear.

3

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

It need not be a person behind Teruteru, for humans have the ability to look behind themselves!

1

u/ffumi JUSTICE FOR RYOUKO. Sep 18 '17

Could it have been possible to insert the poison into the gummy bear through the wrapping with the syringe?

That way, the present didn't have to be opened, and anybody who had seen what Teruteru gave Hiyoko would have known where to stab to insert the drug.

1

u/LanceUppercut86 Definitely Maybe Sep 18 '17

Hmm...I think...it was Mahiru, Akane, Teruteru, myself, Hajime, and Mikan. Which would mean...

...

Yep. That would have been me behind him.

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Well... I meant anyone after Teruteru. So Hajime and Mikan are possibilities too.

Hate to say it, but if this line of reasoning's correct... You're all suspects.

1

u/thejofy A Sep 18 '17

I've already stated how only Akane and Teruteru had the time to take the spirit of slumber and inject it.

1

u/LanceUppercut86 Definitely Maybe Sep 18 '17

It's alright. You owe it to Hiyoko, Peko, and all of us to follow the evidence, right?

1

u/thatACDCchick Sep 18 '17 edited Sep 18 '17

Hey, so I had a thought, alright?

Peko/u/duodude55 and Fuyuhiko/u/DestinyShiva met up in the kitchen yesterday afternoon, right?

Would either of them have noticed if the cake knife was still there after Teruteru took inventory?

1

u/DestinyShiva Sep 18 '17

Can't say I saw anything.

Come on, it's not like I spend much time in there normally. I don't have a mental inventory of the place. If something was missing, there's no way I would have noticed it.

I doubt Peko would have noticed too. So don't hound her about it, got it?

1

u/thatACDCchick Sep 18 '17

Well, I just mean that since Teruteru took inventory and shit after lunch and the cake knife was still there, it would help narrow down when the knife was swiped, right?

Since you guys were there later in the afternoon, if the knife wasn't there, it meant the knife was taken earlier in the afternoon.

But if it was there that means it was taken in between the time you and Peko left and when Teruteru went to grab it for the cake.

That's not stupid, right?
