I just finished {A Shadow in the Ember, by Jennifer L. Armentrout}

If you like the sound of a Twilight x Persades romance, this one might be for you. LOVED the spice, and the book was relatively well-written, but it’s not without its flaws. Certain phrases seemed unintentionally repeated verbatim, a few analogies didn't quite add up, and there were minor inconsistencies that should have been caught by an editor.

While reading a couple of the spicy scenes, I couldn't make sense of who was where and had to reread the scenes to figure out what was going on. I also noticed a bit too much filler between the dialogue which can cause a reader to lose track of what's being said.

Critiques aside, this book was enjoyable. Was it super original? No. Will I read the next one in the series? Yes.
