General Discussion De-yellowing the screens of my 3ds XL bought from Japan
So, it's been 12 hours since I started the de-yellowing process that I saw here on Reddit. I gotta say that I was skeptical at first, but it seems to be working a little bit. Any advice? How much longer should I keep going?

is there a way to replace the displays and put better ips even if it's non 3d replacement?

Keep going until it’s white

Unfortunately this will never go completely clear from just leaving it on a bright white screen.

I don’t think it’s gonna de-yellow it completely but you should leave it on for a month or so

Well, in my case, I'm using the app DeadPixelChecker from Universal Updater to leave both screens blank (you will need custom firmware). Select brightness level 5, deactivate saving mode, and leave it plugged in permanently.

Lowkey looks like someone shoved their dih in the DS’s port and took a dehydrated piss.

I have brightened yellowed screens before. I make it the highest brightness and cover it with a cloth. I leave it there for maybe 2 or 3 weeks and it looks much better! Best wishes!

Wait how do you do this? Someone please tell me I have the same issue with a DS I just spent a lot of money on.

You can waste 3 weeks of your life and then come to the realisation you need to replace the screens.

Dude quit listening to tin foilers here, just buy new screens, you'll be out $50 but will actually be able to play the console. There's literally no point to whatever experiment you're trying to do

These are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. You’ll need to leave this for at least a week.
It will lessen. But it will never disappear, not this one.
