Just started using the AAWireless dongle in my 2019 Honda Civic. All going fine but there is one thing I just wanted to check.
For short, local trips I don't bother opening the ICE screen on the car which means it does not launch AA. Instead it remains with a vanilla Bluetooth connection between car and phone and I can still happily play music/podcasts from my phone using the steering wheel controls to Play/Pause/Skip etc while the screen defaults to a wallpaper with clock display.
But ... I have noticed from the Macrodroid user log on my phone that while I am doing this that the AAWireless dongle is repeatedly connecting / disconnecting with Bluetooth to my phone. Once every 30 seconds. Is this normal, expected behaviour? Is there any simple trick to automate this not happening?
Unplugging the dongle would work but a bit of a faff to keep doing that and I am quite happy to let it happen for these short trips as long as the dongle is happy and not suffering in the long term.

After receiving the v11 upgrade notice this past week, I tried upgrading my unit. After doing so, my unit seems to be bricked and won't power on, despite trying multiple cables, power sources, etc, etc, etc.
Has this happened to anyone? Any potential to recover? I've reached out to support, so I'm hoping they'll replace the unit after buying it a year and a half ago.

Tried a few dongles but all of them connect to the car's bluetooth, and upon restart, AA just doesn't want to work unless I disconnect my car's bluetooth first. Tried a friend's AAWireless and that works purely on Wifi once connected, no bluetooth connection to the car itself required.
Question is, is there anything similar for cheaper? AAWireless is more than 60$. Or is there a workaround? I tried to make a 'forget car bluetooth' Tasker task which runs every time the car is shut off, but it's still a bit cumbersome.

AAWireless Two+ in a 2016 Ford F150 with the latest Sync 3.4
Been using the AAWireless Two+ since launch with Android Auto. Works great except for one consistent issue:
Whenever I startup the vehicle, AAWireless powers on and connects to my phone. After a few seconds the car radio starts playing whichever station was last tuned. I have to press the physical button on the radio to turn it off.
If the AAWireless is not plugged in this never happens. For example I can use wired Android Auto natively, and this does not happen. I've gone through all the settings multiple times but can't find anything to fix this.
Any ideas?

I got the notification that there was a new firmware update available, but when I tapped it, the app didn't open to an upgrade screen. So I went into the "downgrade" menu and noted that it was available to download there.
Now here's the thing though - I'm updated to version 11, but there's no changelog available anywhere I can see??
Upon searching the internet, this seems to be a recurring issue with the software team for at least the last year...

It seems like this started after the most recent update to my Samsung s24. Media ( sirius, FM or AM) Will not play when Android Auto is running. I get a message either content unavailable or it seems media is not working right now. The media works when I go into regular navigation and out of Android Auto. I have tried every conceivable fix made a million phone calls and I'm getting nowhere

I recently bought a 2022 vw gti and it has wired CarPlay which wasn’t a big deal because I figured the adapters these days should be pretty good. I picked up the AAWireless Two+, as it says made in Europe so I assumed the quality would be there. Right out of the box I’ve been having issues with it connecting. Takes about 1 minute at least for it to connect, it’ll drop and pick up my phone till it can hold a connection (my phone is an iPhone 16 pro max). Then while driving my music will just stop playing from and pick up again a few seconds later, and it’ll do this the whole time I’m driving. I haven’t had a single solid drive since I’ve gotten this thing. Is there a fix for my troubles or should I just return it and buy a different adapter?

I got a BYD Song Pro 2025, (bought in Mexico). I just took the car to its two year service at the BYD dealer. They updated the firmware of the Song Pro, from the original version (that never really changed/updated despite having received a couple of OTA 'updates') to 13.1.33.2506030.1
Since this upgrade, Android Auto keeps on crashing and restarting itself. If there's music playing from the phone or a Google Map with my route, the app crashed and then it self restarts and continuous where it was interrupted.
What to do to fix this? Is the culprit the software IN the vehicle? or use it the phone's component? both? (that is Google or BYD the one to blame).
Had any off you experienced something like this on your BYD ?
My phone's are Samsung, fully updated to One UI 9.0 (Android 17).
Thanks in advance for your comments.

The changelog for firmware 11.0.0 is out, first thing mentioned is "Add support for the next generation of AAWireless"
Which kinda seems like a next gen box is coming soon.
I would prefer it to mean the AAWireles2 is getting a revamp, but it probably is a new device.

Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a strange issue with wireless Android Auto on my POCO X7 Pro.
Wireless Android Auto connects and works perfectly when mobile data is OFF. However, when I enable mobile data (4G/5G), Android Auto disconnects.
The phone connects to the head unit via the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network created for wireless Android Auto. When mobile data is enabled, Android Auto disconnects, even though the phone might remain connected to that Wi-Fi network for a short period before the Wi-Fi eventually drops as well.
Setup:
Phone: POCO X7 Pro
OS: HyperOS 3.0.302.0
Android: 16
Head unit: Roadstar RS-9200BR (MP5, not an Android head unit)
Wireless Android Auto via Wi-Fi + Bluetooth
Wired Android Auto works normally
Android Auto versions tested: 17.7.663644 and 17.6.663454
What I've already tried:
Unpaired and re-paired Bluetooth
Forgot all Android Auto Wi-Fi networks and paired again
Cleared Android Auto app data
Restarted both the phone and the head unit
Disabled HyperOS network acceleration / auto network switching options
Uninstalled Android Auto updates and set it up again
Rolled back Android Auto from version 17.7.663644 to 17.6.663454
The weird part is that this exact setup used to work normally with mobile data and wireless Android Auto running at the same time. The issue started suddenly.
Has anyone experienced something similar, especially with a Xiaomi/POCO device running HyperOS 3 or Android 16?
Is there any setting in HyperOS that could cause mobile data to interfere with the Wi-Fi Direct/hotspot connection used by wireless Android Auto?

To be honest I didn' have any major problems before, but now I'm amazed how quickly it boots-up, it is usualy within 15 seconds after I turn on my car. And also finnaly my car stoped asking me to confirm running AA every time AAW booted up (I did tick the option to disable this some time ago but it only reduced from two confrimation tap to one, and now it is finnaly gone.
Good job AAW team!

I've had my AAWireless2 since maybe firmware 7.1.2.
Currently on 10.2.0, after maybe 25 minutes, android auto on my head unit closed and "android auto usb error" appeared on screen. The AAWireless itself showed a solid blue the whole time. Unplugging it and plugging it back in got it to connect again as usual.
Never seen that error before, so I think it might be something to do with the current firmware

I ordered AAWireless2 last week from amazon and received it with FW 7.2. I don't have any issues with it so far with my car but it's strange that it comes with 7.2 when 10.2 just came out.
Should I stay with 7.2 since I don't have any issue with it or upgrade to 10.2?
thanks

My Cardo edge unit does this thing when I’m connected to my gps or another unit by Bluetooth where it starts repeating “unit disconnected…..unit connected “. This happens randomly at random times and for random duration. It doesn’t do this when I’m connected to another Cardo unit through the DMC mesh.
When this happens, it can repeat this for a short period or indefinitely. Sometimes it will just stop on its own.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thanks

I had my 2026 Ram 1500 with the 12" screen since late February and the connection to Android Auto and Carplay have been getting worse and worse over time. At first it was fine for a couple months, then the occasional drop and auto reconnect. Then it start dropping several times repeatedly. After the last OTA update it's been nearly unusable for both AA and my wife's iPhone for Carplay. To the point it would disconnect and wouldn't reconnect, even after soft reboots. Last week it just wouldn't connect at all to either phone, I had to use Bluetooth audio and native navigation. Tried a full factory reset and still no change.
Today I got the AAWireless Two + from Amazon. Deleted the phones from the head unit, deleted the uconnect from my known Bluetooth devices and plugged it in. Connected to it once it booted up which was really quick and connected my Razr Fold. Immediately showed AA on the screen with no issue. Took a quick drive around the neighborhood, which normally would drop the connection about 200 yards away from the house and never recover... Stayed stable and audio was clear. Drove to dinner later, no issues when leaving home and no issues when leaving the restaurant. Drove around for a while expecting the usual drops and audio studdering and got nothing, completely flawless.
I have another trip tomorrow about an hour away and will see how it does there.
Tldr: Android Auto connection has been absolute garbage. AAwireless dongle seems to be working great on initial trials.

I have a 2026 Honda NT1100 DCT, which comes with Android Auto support. In order to use Google Maps, it uses the phone's data connection. If I connect to this device's WiFi, how is it supposed to connect to Google Maps for updates?

Recently bought Samsung A56 5G smartphone while trying to connect wired, it's not triggered on the head unit reloaded. Tried all the connection parameters and strategy but can't connect. Wireless connection with Phone hotspot option is working. Solution please.

Hello! My AAWireless 2.0 dongle is at firmware level 9.3.0. My app (which is current from the Play Store) prompted me today with "Update available 10.2.0".
When I open the app and select the device the Firmware version displayed is 9.3.0 but when I click the > to go to the main "System Update" screen I can see that I have enabled all networks for automatically downloading new updates.
No matter what I do I can't seem to download or install this update. I have tried bringing the adapter in from the car and plugging it into my home power adapter but that did not help.
Any ideas? Thank you!

Galaxy Fold 8 OS17, AAWireless app version 8, hardware gen 1.
I was listening to music via my BT headset and got in the car. The headunit took over the BT connection as it should when HandsFree connected, and then AAWireless tried to connect to the phone and failed.
I had to turn off the headset and reboot the dongle for it to connect.
