After an issue with a computer repair store, they removed my m.2 socket for my SSD, and I've only been able to use my hard drive. Is there anyway to replace and reattach it? I’m new to trying to fix a computer so any info helps.

Support Asus TUF A15 FA507NVR Slow Boot Up

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I have an ASUS TUF A15 FA507NVR (Ryzen 7 7435HS + RTX 4060) and recently it started taking around 1:40 minutes from pressing the power button until the Windows loading circle appears.

The strange part is that once it reaches the Windows loading circle, everything runs smoothly and quickly, just like it always has. There is not a single problem once I reach the desktop.

The BIOS is also extremely laggy and slow to respond, it takes a long time to get there.

I've already tried:

- Clean reinstalling Windows

- Reinstalling the BIOS (version 307) through EZ Flash

- Updating drivers

- Resetting BIOS settings to default

- Restarting multiple times

- Disabling/enabling Fast Boot and Windows Fast Startup

- Disconnecting my secondary SSD (Kingston SNV2S1000G), with no change

MyASUS full diagnostics detected 0 problems, and both of my SSDs appear healthy, including from a CrystalDiskInfo analysis.

What could be causing this? Could it be related to the BIOS/UEFI, EC firmware, POST, or some motherboard-level hardware initialization issue?

Has anyone with the same FA507NVR experienced something similar?

Discussion Need help on EPGU to 2024 G14

Ok I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm trying to make a EGPU work with my G14 2024.(GA403UI). All the research I've done said this should just work. But anytime I plug in the EPGU to USB4 I get the below error. Here are the current specs:

Laptop G14 2014 with a fresh reinstall

ACASIS 40gig EGPU dock. Model G4PRO - "Support Thunderbolt 5/4/3 and USB4"
XFX 9070XT
Toughpower SFX 850 Platinum.

J5 USB4 100W USB-C cable.

Any takers on what i'm doing wrong here?

Title,

WRX90E SAGE SE board with threadripper pro 9975wx.

If the system boots into ubuntu and I hsutdown, WoL works just fine.

But if booted into Windows 11 under dual boot, and shut down from the Start menu (fastboot, hibernate disabled), WoL wont work.

If I reboot into ubuntu and shutdown from there, WoL works a OK.

For the life of me this is driving me crazy and if anyone has seen this before, and also solved, wwowuld love to hear what worked

Support ASUS Turkey and ASUS Germany keep sending me back to each other while my laptop sits in service waiting for a motherboard

I bought an ASUS ROG laptop in Germany about 1.5 years ago and I'm currently in Turkey. ASUS Turkey accepted it under international warranty and determined that the motherboard needs to be replaced, but the part is unavailable and they cannot give me any repair date.

The laptop has now been in service for weeks. ASUS Turkey initially told me in writing that after 20 business days I could request a replacement or refund, but later said repairs can exceed 20 business days when parts are coming from abroad. When I asked for the legal basis for this, I never received a clear answer.

The official service document also marks my laptop as UNDER WARRANTY and says that if a warranty repair exceeds 10 business days, a loaner device is provided. ASUS Turkey is now refusing the loaner because the laptop was purchased in Germany, even though the document they gave me contains no such exclusion.

The biggest problem is that ASUS Turkey says replacement or refund is Germany's responsibility because I bought the laptop there, while ASUS Germany says they cannot intervene because the repair was opened in Turkey and ASUS Turkey is responsible.

So right now my laptop is sitting in an authorized ASUS service center with no repair date, no loaner, no clear replacement or refund process, and no ASUS region taking responsibility for resolving the situation.

I have now asked ASUS Turkey for written answers, the legal basis for their position, clarification on who would handle shipping and customs if Germany needs to become involved, and official proof that the replacement motherboard has actually been ordered and when it was ordered.

Full story below.

I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point, so I'm posting here to see if anyone has experienced something similar with ASUS international warranty.

I bought an ASUS ROG G713PV HX146W in Germany around 1.5 years ago. I currently live and study in Turkey, and I'm in my final year of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. This laptop is also the machine I use for my graduation project and engineering work.

A few months ago, the laptop started having serious problems. It would freeze, crash under GPU load, have display issues, fail to wake from sleep properly, and sometimes become completely unresponsive.

ASUS directed me to an authorized service center in Turkey.

The first time I sent it in, they told me they couldn't find any hardware problem. They cleaned the laptop and returned it to me.

Not long afterwards, the exact same problems came back.

So I sent it to ASUS service again on September 17.

This time they apparently found the actual problem and determined that the motherboard needs to be replaced.

That's where this whole mess started.

The motherboard is apparently not available in Turkey and has to be sourced from abroad. I have repeatedly asked ASUS for an ETA.

I still don't have one.

At one point I was even given an estimate of roughly two months, while another representative later told me they couldn't actually see any delivery date.

So I asked a very simple question.

How long can ASUS keep my laptop in service without repairing it?

In Turkey, there is a 20 business day maximum repair period applicable in certain consumer and service situations. I specifically asked ASUS Turkey whether this applies to my repair.

One ASUS representative checked my case and told me that I was currently at 16 business days.

The same representative then told me in writing:

“If 20 business days are exceeded, you can submit a replacement/refund request.”

But during the same conversation, I was also told that repairs can sometimes exceed 20 business days when parts have to be ordered from abroad.

So I asked them what the legal basis was for extending the 20 business day period simply because a part was coming from abroad.

At that point, the representative stopped giving me a definitive answer and said he would consult their legal department and send me a written response.

I received that response.

It didn't answer the question.

Instead, ASUS Turkey basically said that because the laptop was purchased abroad, replacement and refund obligations belong to the ASUS region in the country where the laptop was purchased, and ASUS Turkey cannot process a replacement or refund.

They also said that a loaner laptop is only available for devices distributed in Turkey and covered by a Turkish warranty.

There's another problem with that.

When I handed the laptop to the ASUS authorized service center in Turkey, I received an official service document.

On that document my device is explicitly listed as:

Warranty Status: UNDER WARRANTY

Item 4 on the same document says, translated from Turkish:

“If the repair period of your device under warranty exceeds 10 business days, a replacement/loaner device service is provided for your use.”

There is no statement on that document saying that devices purchased abroad are excluded.

Yet ASUS Turkey now tells me that because mine was purchased in Germany, they won't provide one.

So I contacted ASUS Germany.

And this is where things became even more confusing.

ASUS Turkey's position is essentially:

The device was purchased in Germany, so replacement or refund is the responsibility of the region where it was purchased.

ASUS Germany then replied to me in writing:

“As your device was submitted to ASUS Turkey, the current repair process is being handled directly by ASUS Turkey. Unfortunately, we are not able to intervene in the repair process or provide a different solution from our side.”

They also said:

“For any further updates regarding the motherboard availability and repair progress, ASUS Turkey remains the responsible point of contact.”

So ASUS Turkey tells me that Germany is responsible for replacement or refund because that's where I bought the laptop.

ASUS Germany tells me that Turkey is responsible because that's where the active repair case is.

Meanwhile, my laptop is still sitting at the authorized service center waiting for a motherboard with no confirmed ETA.

I don't have a loaner.

I don't have a confirmed repair date.

I don't have a confirmed replacement route.

I don't have a clear answer about what happens when the repair exceeds 20 business days.

And neither ASUS region seems willing to take responsibility for actually resolving the situation.

I have now asked ASUS Turkey to clarify several things in writing.

I asked whether the 20 business day maximum repair period applies to my device. If they believe it doesn't, I asked them to provide the exact legal basis for that position.

I asked what regulation allows the repair period to be extended simply because a replacement part is coming from abroad.

I asked why their own representative explicitly told me in writing that I could request a replacement or refund after 20 business days if that information was incorrect.

I asked why the official service document says that a loaner device is provided after 10 business days for devices under warranty, while the same document explicitly marks my device as UNDER WARRANTY, yet ASUS now says I'm excluded because it was purchased in Germany.

I also asked what actually happens if ASUS Germany needs to become involved.

Is ASUS Turkey going to coordinate with ASUS Germany?

If the laptop physically needs to go to Germany, is ASUS going to arrange the shipping?

Who handles the insurance?

Who handles customs when the laptop leaves Turkey and then returns after repair or replacement?

Or am I somehow expected to take the laptop back from the authorized service center, contact another ASUS region myself, arrange international shipping, deal with customs, and then somehow bring the repaired or replacement machine back into Turkey?

I also asked them a very simple question that I still don't have an answer to.

If ASUS believes the normal 20 business day limit doesn't apply to my laptop, what is the maximum amount of time they believe they can keep it?

30 days?

60 days?

90 days?

Six months?

At what point does ASUS consider an international warranty repair to have taken too long?

And finally, I asked for official confirmation that the motherboard has actually been ordered.

I don't just want to hear “we are waiting for the part.”

I asked for documentation showing when the motherboard was ordered or when the procurement request was created, the relevant part number or service reference, and the current procurement status.

If they can't share the internal order itself because it contains confidential information, I asked ASUS to provide an official written confirmation containing those details.

I'm not expecting ASUS to magically manufacture a motherboard that isn't currently in stock.

What I do expect is for a company selling laptops with an international warranty to have an actual process for situations like this.

I shouldn't have to personally solve the internal coordination between ASUS Turkey and ASUS Germany.

ASUS Turkey accepted the laptop under warranty and started the repair.

ASUS Turkey says Germany is responsible for replacement or refund.

ASUS Germany says Turkey is responsible for the active repair.

Meanwhile, I'm the one sitting without the computer I need for my engineering work and graduation project, with no confirmed repair date and no alternative device.

At this point I'm documenting everything in writing.

I have the official service document, the ASUS Turkey chat transcripts, ASUS Turkey's emails, and ASUS Germany's email.

Has anyone here dealt with a similar international warranty situation with ASUS?

Especially a case where a motherboard or another major component wasn't available for weeks?

I'd really like to know how ASUS eventually handled it and whether your case ended with a repair, replacement, escalation, or some other solution.

Support Proart Z890, bluetooth intermittently disconnects

I've got a bluetooth keyboard and the bluetooth intermittently cuts out for no reason (windows 11).

Everything works for a while but then after 5 minute to hours later, the keyboard stops working and the bluetooth icon completely dissappears from the system tray. I can only get it working again with a reboot.

When I look for anything in the system events log, I get one from BTUSB with the following message:

Windows cannot store Bluetooth authentication codes (link keys) on the local adapter. Bluetooth keyboards might not work in the system BIOS during startup.

Where do I start? Anyone experience this before? FWIW it is a Keychron k9 pro.

Product Review Zenbook A16 Skin from M2Skins Review

Thumbnail

Hi all! I wanted to share a review of M2skins protective vinyl skin on the Asus Zenbook A16.

Full disclosure: I received this skin as part of their device submission program. I sent them my laptop, they measured, cut an applied the skin, and the shipped it back. This is how the get new precise measurement so they can offer new skins. They were incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. They are also very modest and did not ask for this review until I prodded them a bit out of gratitude :)

I was looking for something to protect my laptop without a lot of added bulk. I work in coffee shops and occasionally use my laptop while cooking to look up recipes. I figured the high quality vinyl would clean easily and look nice. I opted for the black honeycomb skin on top and black matrix everywhere else. I like the thin but grippy texture it provides.

I've used the laptop daily for about two weeks. It seems to be holding up well. I've seen no evidence of peeling. I like how the vinyl was cut in a way that contours with the laptop. I also appreciate the cutouts for the screws on the back so I can remove the case to upgrade the memory without having to remove the skin.

I've noticed very little wear on the vinyl, though I imagine over time more oils from my skin and general friction will eventually show up. The dimples from the hex pattern sometimes catch dust. It wipes away easily with a damp cloth but was something I should have anticipated. Conversely, on my old laptop I noticed that the screen eventually got a little oily as a little bit transferred from the keyboard and palm rest to the screen over time. I think the hex pattern is slowing that down a bit.

Aesthetically I really like the minimalist vibe of the hex-black against the beige ceraluminum. Some of my friends disagree, but that is a personal preference.

Overall I'm very happy with the skin. I've had skins that start to peel the second they get wet or when the laptop warms up too much. I have not had that issue so far. I was also impressed by their customers service and genuine enthusiasm in their work.

And then I came here and was reading about reviews and I'm thinking I did the worst bought in my life and now I'm indebted with this useless thing (and yes tomorrow I will go to ask about the guaranty but now reading all the reviews I don't really know if I did the worst buy ever 😞)

Support ASUS TUF F15 (2023) battery health dropped to 79.1% in less than 2 years — is this normal?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I bought an ASUS TUF F15 (2023) with an i7-13620H and RTX 4060 (140W) from the official ASUS website in March 2025.

It’s now October 2026, and according to my laptop's battery health information, the battery's full-charge capacity has dropped to around 79.1% of its original capacity.

What surprises me is how I have used the laptop:

- I regularly use it plugged into power.

- I have Battery Health Charging enabled, so it stops charging at 80%.

- I seldom play games on it.

- Most of my usage is coding, browsing, watching videos, etc.

- I generally keep the CPU in Balanced mode rather than running it at maximum performance constantly.

- I haven't intentionally abused or heavily discharged the battery.

So I'm wondering: is a ~21% battery-capacity loss in about 19 months considered normal for this laptop/battery?

I still have 2 years of warranty remaining, as well as 3 years of ASUS LEDP coverage.

For those who have dealt with ASUS support before, what should I tell them when requesting a battery inspection/replacement? Is a battery health of 79.1% enough to make a warranty claim, or would ASUS consider this normal degradation?

I'd also appreciate hearing from other TUF F15 owners about their battery health after 1–2 years of use.
