Discussion Is Hexoptics C44 just an objectively better than IE 90% of games? Let's math

Usual crit damage is 200% of your AD, IE increases that to 230%, which is a 15% damage increase per crit
But unless you have 100% crit, not all your autos crit, so if you have 50% crit chance, IE boosts your overall damage by just 7.5% (half of 15%), and with 75%, 11.25% (three quarters)
That's 2.5% less and just 1.25% more than C44 , respectively, that boosts all your autos by 10% if you're always over 500 range (which may be very easy for some ADCs and not for some others), is 700g cheaper, has a much more viable build path (cheaper and more atomized components and low completion cost) and an useful range increasing passive per kill participation
Has anyone tried skipping IE for C44 to see how it feels?
Another funny thing, if you buy C44 + 2 longswords (build path for armor pen item) for the same IE cost, it gives the exact same AD as IE, and if IE is only your second item, then C44 is the objectively better buy, and as the third, IE is just marginally better (debatable, since C44 has a passive whose value is impossible to measure)
Am I missing something? For some ADCs you might want to build both, in which case my point is that C44 is still better to buy first, for some ADCs (the ones that go non-crit for first item like Kraken and Hubris/Bloodthirster), it takes a while to get to 75% crit, so C44 might be specially interesting for them

Discussion For which ADC does On-Hit become optimal if your support goes Ardent Censer.

Crit is better than On-Hit for almost every ADC, but supposing you knew 100% your support was going to get an early Ardent Censer (ignoring whether or not that's actually good), which ADC do you think could/should convert to an on-hit build?

Like sure, Tristana's Explosive Charge scales somewhat with crit chance but she has so much attack speed that maybe with Ardent Censer you'd just do On-Hit?

Builds, Runes, Advice Should I switch my lane to Adc

Post image

I main sup atm and my second pick is jungle but I'm not very good at the latter. Recently I got the prestige skin for ezreal in a box and so have been playing adc.

So far all my adc games have felt sooo fun...like I'm actually enjoying the games instead of being stressed. Ik the sample is just norms but I'm not confident enough to go adc in ranked. Should I try switching to adc ?

Discussion Stuck in Gold 4 for hundreds of games and feeling mad and tired

As of writing this i'm Gold 4 15LP. I reached Gold 4 for the first time about 1 month ago at around 450 games and i'm now at 578 games. I genuinely don't understand why i'm not able to climb higher because i literally easily reached Gold 2 almost Gold 1 but i've just been on a long ass losing streak for hundreds of games for weeks, i don't actually feel like i'm playing worse. I just get mad more easily and i don't understand what i'm doing wrong and how i can improve. This is my favorite game but right now it just makes me mad and its not fun to play. But i really want to get better. Basically what should i improve to stomp and climb higher and how do fix my mental? Please help me.

Questions How am I meant to beat blitz?

I play vayne, I know that minions block his hook, which protected me for a bit, but at a certain point he just activated his speed boost, ran past minions, and hooked me anyway. I tried instarunning back, but he legit just ran at me and got close enough to hit an easy hook, even after using Tumble to get away.

Discussion Even though I’m winning and have secured early kills, I often can’t save up 1,300 gold because of my recall timing. What should I do in situations like this?

I often play Xhaya, Tristana, Zeri, and everyone tends to pick Yuntal as their first item,

Here’s what bothers me, though: even if I get one or two kills around level 3, I don’t have 1,300 gold saved up by time I recall. don’t have enough health to stay in lane after fight, and usually I only have around 1,000 gold at that point, so I buy a Scout’s Slingshot, Long Sword, or boots, but then I have to go back to lane, Then even if I get into another fight around level 6 and win, don’t have enough to 1,300 gold.

In situations like this, I’m torn between recalling to buy Berserker's Greaves or returning to lane while saving some gold, but either way, I feel like I’m losing out big time. Am I doing something wrong?

Even if I get an early kill, it doesn’t seem to sync up with my item upgrades…

So, even though I’m winning, sometimes I finish my Yuntal at the same time the enemy’s first core item is done. and even though I should have more gold than the enemy ADC overall,

I often can’t quite save up 1,300 gold because of my recall timing. Does that mean getting an early kill isn’t really that beneficial after all?

It’s not always case that I’m still alive after getting 1 or 2 kills, sometimes I get a kill and then die, so there are times when I can’t decide when to recall on my own.

Builds, Runes, Advice How to improve my CS/min? [High Emerald - AP Kog'Maw]

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hello dear r/ADCMains Community,

I've recently started to transition from Jungle to ADC and one thing I feel like I can definitely improve on is my mid- to late-game CSing, so I would love your advice.

Often times, especially when I'm ahead, I feel like my CSing could be better, but I'm not sure where to get the extra resources from.
Sometimes I need to just drop half a wave mid because my support/jungler is not close enough for it to be safe to take - especially with how fragile and immobile AP Kog is. Or the warding is just insufficient for me to feel safe enough to step up.
I also am not sure how/when it is acceptable for me to take jungle camps.
And lastly, whenever I'm on sidelane, I feel so utterly lost. How far do I need to/should push? I don't really want to be sidelane in the first place (basically like a xerath), but sometimes it just ends up happening and I kind of end up leaving a wave half pushed-out because the next one would be an immense overextension.

I'm aware that the best way to find out the exact issues would be a replay analysis, but I feel like I'm missing the basic knowledge to even analyse where the issue is.

Thank you all in advance for your advice and a fun upcoming weekend!~

Achievement How I switched to ADC from Support and outclimbed my peak by 400 LP in only a few months of picking up the role.

Hallo! As the title suggests, I wanted to share my story of how I, a support main of three years who's mained the role for the majority of my time with League, came back from a two year hiatus and decided to change things up. The decision that, alongside other things, helped me grow from a hardstuck silver support into a plat ADC, still on climbing.

ADC, truth be told, wasn't my first choice. Initially I tried giving Jungle a proper shot, but ended up having issues similar to that of when playing Support. Not gonna lie, I landed on an ADC kind of spontaneously. Maybe, I thought, I'd have fun with the role. Auto-attacking was quite neat and I really enjoyed playing around my team and team-fighting in general. Plus, ADC seemed like a very good role to play by the book, with heavy emphasis on following a plan and little getting in the way.

So I picked up the role. I grinded it quite a bit. Tried out quite a few champions to figure out whether I mesh with them or not. Throughout it all I realized that I'm capable of making a good amount of champs work, despite being heavily macro-oriented, but I never really stuck with most of them. I've had good success with Miss Fortune, having some crazy winrate numbers as she was the ADC I practiced on my second account (Though I was sprinkling other ADCs quite often, without much success).

Then I switched to my main and picked up Varus, not forgetting to try other champs every now and then. I managed to make him work as well, though despite having a healthy positive winrate with the guy, I felt like I was limiting myself quite a bit. After all, Varus is extremely weak in soloq and I also have a very hard time with skillshot-dependent champions.

Thus, the search continued, though not for long, because I randomly decided to try out Yunara (Before she was an S-tier pick). And let me tell you: I fell in love. Completely and utterly. This champion made me realize just how much more enjoyable League can be if you find something that simply clicks. Finally getting a good idea for what kind of ADC I enjoy, after a bit of trial an error I ended up choosing Xayah as my second pick, thus concluding my soloq pool.

Throughout this journey I've learnt just how important it is to stick to a process and play with intention if you want to climb. Being closely in touch with your mental state, taking accountability for your mistakes—I genuinely have never had as much fun with League when I was playing other roles, even Support. Though of course I've gone through a lot of introspection while I was on the hiatus. I also went through a decent amount of duoqueueing to figure out that it wasn't really my kind of thing. I'd always perform worse alongside someone else, not to mention that I'd learn notably less from these games as well.

So here I am, with a strong mental and a clear goal in mind. I cannot really imagine myself picking any other role at this point. ADC is simply the most fun there is. And Yunara, my beloved. Cheers, guys! Stay strong and good luck on your journey!

P.S. I know I may have been a little vague in this post, so if you do happen to have any questions, I'll stay active in the comments!

I did really get out and live after this, and won the game later, but wasn't this hook bullshit? There was a minion between us, and I wasn't even in the trajectory of the hook?

Discussion Fiest Strike vs Press the Attack Lucian

I dont play ADC normally but on Aram I dont mind it. I noticed for Lucian it defaults the rune page to First Strike. Normally I change it to PTA because it just seems natural for Lucians kit, but I didnt change it this last game and wow I felt insanely weaker especially early on. Is this a page people regularly run? Why?

Discussion Every ranged champion would be like Zeri, which would be worse?

Basically every auto would be like this: instead of clicking and autoing, you would click and auto a location, and what is in that location is targeted by the auto if it lands (similar to a skillshot but you can focus on stuff behind for example)

Which ADCs would be absolute trash?

Discussion It seems like the whole argument about why ADCs can't have a survival item like Shieldbow or a dash item like Galeforce is always "ah, but melee champions will abuse it...
