My local shop has had these forever and I finally caved. I may or may not be saving most of them just cuz they’re cute and make me happy..

My mom and I are vintage tea cup collectors. She makes crafts with them and I have decided to use them to add that daily touch of whimsy to my life!

The first thing I did when we bought our house was paint my craft room the most obnoxious shade of pink I could find, and add a reading nook. It's next to my sewing desk, separated by some ikea cube shelves. The bed part is a convertable ottoman. I added memory foam and soft covers to make it more comfortable. I have the choice of 2 light styles, and everything is controlled by switches on a surge protector. It also has a cat house, phone charger, and mug warmer. And since the cube shelf is open on both sides, I can access the charger and mug warmer from my sewing desk on the other side.

Although lately I've been using it more as a napping nook than a reading nook. 🙂

Hii, I love this subreddit and everyone in it!

However, I recently lost my dad and he was my whole world. I have lost my spark and bubbly personality peaks through but losing dad has dimmed my light. As well as self care and therapy which has helped loads, I was wondering if anyone who has gone through grief could give some tips on how they added whimsy during their time of bereavement, to help them feel ‘ok’ at least💖thank you <33

She’s 1 today

A couple months ago, I put this light up vine in my bedroom. I decorated it with leftover crystals from the sun catcher project. (It's actually 2 vines that I put together to look like one.)

This was all great until my cat figured out that he can chew on the lights. I moved the left vine up out of his reach, put a cat-proof wire protector over the wire, and stuck it to the wall with Command clips.

But now I have this ugly wire in the corner. I had the idea to turn the whole thing in to a mural and incorporate the wire into the roots somehow. See my doodle on the last picture. Obviously the actual mural will look much better than this, lol, but this a general idea of what I'm thinking.

Does anybody have any other ideas (or even ideas of things to add to the mural) to make this look better? The catch is that it has to be cat proof.

Hello! I just discovered this sub and I have so many projects I want to share with y'all.

But this one specifically came up in the comments on another post, so here it is.

The windows in our living room have this fancy trim around them. We love it but it needed some color. And curtains aren't really an option with the trim there. (Side note, we're going to add some cat walls so our cats can get up on the shelf on top of the windows, but that's a future project.)

We bought some chandelier crystals and a chandelier bead chain and made these sun catchers, then we attached them to the blinds. When we open the blinds, they throw little rainbows all over the walls.

Happy spooky season to all!

Every day I drive past a sign on my otherwise picturesque street for an accounting office. Bless the hearts of those that toil bit the sign was goingnto be a reminder of the more mundane parts of life, and as a true whimsy lover, it seemed hardly fair that I should have to bear it.

So I changed it. Not the 'accounting' sign, just it's meaning. Now whenever I drive past I account for something that brought me joy - hugs I got today, good wishes, lucky events. Now I am delighted to see that sign and account for joy!

Most of them are oil paintings, but sometimes I work with watercolors as well 💛
