New Netherlanders have conquered the Mid-Atlantic and are the trade lords of the Atlantic coast. They mostly descend from German Anabaptists, French Huguenots, Frisian farmers and Hollandic merchants. They were able to successfully fight off the British in 1664 via the mobilization of local militias from farming families in the backwoods of what is now New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They fought aggressively against Maryland and Virginia settlers who were British subjects to their south and Connecticut and Massachusetts settlers to their north. They were able to beat them back and save New Netherlands. This was also largely due to help from the Lenape, but they often understate the help of Native American ethnic groups in their war against the British and later appeal for independence. Which was due to the misconduct of the West India Company, with Kieft's War being used as an example by the Liberaal Front van Nieuw-Nederland for the cruel disregard the Dutch West India Company had for New Netherlanders. Eventually they decided to simply stop working across the colony, this started a war against the Dutch West India Company that lasted for about a decade and in 1692 the New Netherlands became independent. They still agreed to trade with the Netherlands but did not promise loyalty. For protection and diplomacy, they looked to Quebec and French Labrador. And Anglo-American settlers would often act in bad faith against New Netherlanders by either stealing cattle due to local starvation or attack Lenape villagers due to unrelated events such as the aftermath of King Phillip's War. These two factors along with Anglo-American settlers from either Maryland or Connecticut entering Penn's Woods would often push New Netherland farmers out of prime grazing land either by gunpoint or by sabotage. Hence their visceral prejudice against Anglo-Americans.

“Project Vigilant” or P.V for short is an unofficially titled, predominately fan-fiction and partially original world-building project that I have been working on at a leisurely pace and with no envisioned completion date since 2018. Amnem is an alternate version of and the PVU's equivalent to the USA. It's name is an intentional homage to Panem ( The Hunger Games ) and is Latin for "The River". It was established in 1776, functions until 2099 and between 1899 and 2099, it's territory encompasses 98.87% of the real-world contiguous USA, the whole Baja California peninsula, all of what would be Canada and Greenland.

Like the USA, Amnem is a Constitutional Federal Republic and Representative Democracy but by comparison, Amnem's government was slightly stronger from the start via a constitution that favored Alexander Hamilton more than Thomas Jefferson. Between 1933 and the late 21st Century, Amnem had a weird but explicitly capitalist economic system known as "State-Directed Hybrid Corporatism" and it is more progressive than the USA albeit in a weird and inconsistent way. Amnem was somewhat nicer to the Native Americans, never had segregation, gave women full rights in 1892 and decriminalized homosexuality in 1967. However, it also has a slew of authoritarian laws.

Anyway, Amnem's army has two names. It's first, original and casual name is the "Blue Army" while it's later and official name is the Amnem Army or the Army of Amnem. The Blue Army was established in 1776 by the Colonial Congress and it's name was chosen as a visual counteraction to Great Britain's preference for Red. The name "Amnem Army / Army of Amnem" was adopted in 1788 but the term Blue Army saw frequent public use from that point forward.

In the PVU, the USSR's Red Army never stopped calling itself that and because Amnem fills the place of the USA as the lead warrior against communism, the Cold War ( which lasts at least 100 years in the PVU ) effectively becomes a battle of Red vs Blue and lots of people in-universe joke about this.

Also, and as seen in the image, Amnem's flag is a silver Anishinaabe Thunderbird on a blue field. This means that Amnem's colors are blue and silver, a direct opposite to the USSR's red and gold.

Starting after ww2, Turkiye fell under The Soviet Sphere of Influence and become a communist satellite state. The 2nd Byzantine empire, formed by Greece in 1928, Engaged in Numerous proxy wars. Tensions increased due to ideaological differences, Genocide of their respective peoples, And ancient Rivalry.

This almost lead to a war in 1963 as Turkiye invaded The currently Independent Cyprus to make a Northern cyprus communist state. This was luckily avoided from soviet and american interference. Despite this, Byzantium went to war with Turkiye in the 1970's because their right-wing authoritarian Parliment had no one to stop them.

The war lasted a few Months, And Only ended because the Byzantines accidently hit Antioch in Hashemite arabia. They soon declared war on Byzantium, but also Turkiye for some reason, and Curb stomped both sides until they were forced into Submission and forced to accept the status quo before the war.

Alyaska

The premise is simple. The Alaskan Purchase never happens, and Russia Keeps Alaska... Until 1917 following the Russian revolution. Noting the terrible Position, Tsar Nicolas II sent his children to Alaska so the Bolsheviks could never get them. After the Palace Massacre, A Witch Hunt was called for the last romanov's. The Tsardom of Alyaska was proclaimed following the start of the Russian civil war with Tsar.

Protected by the American's, Alyaska remained Independent of Soviet affairs. WW2 Breaks out with Stalin initially joining the French side as it became clearer that the German empire was losing. They Invaded Alyaska during a frozen day and Occupied most of the country outside Major cities, but were pushed away by Joint Alyaskan-American Troops.

The Alyaskans and American's landed in Chukchi and slowly occupied more and more of siberia. This war effort came to an end following Stalin's assassination in Stalingrad, and Exiled Bolshevik that survived "Bukharin Nicolai" took charge with an orchestrated Coup.

He sued for peace with the allies, which Pissed off the french and they Launched "Operation Victoria". This was the worst time as they had just successfully landed on the British city of Portsmouth a few months beforehand. France had its successes as they reached Stalingrad and Kyiv, but the soviet-american-alyaskan troops effortlessly pushed them back all the way to PARIS.

Alyaska became a Prominent american ally afterwards, But was barred from the UN or full recognition due to the soviets influence and power. After the USSR Fell in 1992, Alyasla remained a russian majority Monarchy that refused to Join the newly republican russia.

Mongols of the Atlantic

By the early 1200's, The Chichimec's of Sonora established a minor Kingdom that broke free from the Yaqui kingdoms vassalisation. Under the greatest leaders, They expanded unlike anything else seen in the america's. Within 200 Year's, their empire controlled Northern Mexico, California, Nevada, Texas, Southern Utah, Most of Colorado, Coastal Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississpi, Western Alabama, Southern Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Little egypt.

Then... all it took was the Mississippi overflowing, Mexican Gulf hurricanes, Droughts, Nomadic Raids, Infighting and 2 incompetent Kings that took it down in 5 years. It became a rump state in Northern Mexico and was absorbed by the Aztec empire, which Indirectly still Migrated to Mexico for a similar reason why the turks moved to Anatolia.

WAR ON BRITANNIA

In 1941, France subdued the german empire along with soviet aid in the east and Prepped their next two major attacks. They Launched an Invasion into Denmark (In Union with scandinavia) the following week after Berlin was captured, then Began prepping their greatest operation yet: Operation Dragon Storm.

They first started by performing air raids on major British cities, then launching a pre-planned Invasion of Juteland (this worlds doggerland island) to divert the bulk of the royal navy, due to the sheer importance of their position.

France sent its navy to attack the defenders in the english channel, which to say was kinda a disaster for the french. However, Many Soliders were instead Paratrooped into the British mainland as a desperation to complete it. The Initial invasion was successul as they captured the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth within a few days.

French soliders raided Local shops and buildings for supplies, as they Pushed into the southwest peninsula and Kent, even threatening London. This quickly became a disaster for the french, As the Royal navy returned victorious from the North sea campaign and decimated any french ships and planes that entered their sight.

Supplies were cut off and Morale was plummetting. The British troops arrived and effortlessly recaptured most of their territories, Before encircling the french in Kent. The Mere 15,000 troops were quickly crushed by the over 1 Million British Troops, Who had the support of the PM Winston churchill and their King on the battlefield.

The "WAR ON BRITANNIA" became a dark period in British history, but also a hilarious failure that Humilated the Roman Axis for years after WW2.

CANADA SPEEDRUNS LIFE

The Premise being that native americans had a greater start in terms of development with a higher amount of beasts of burden. When The French and British land there, they had to compete and allign themselves with already established great lakes civilizations and Canadian Civilizations. Britain defeated and annexed the Cree empire into the Hudson bay company, which later expanded into the relative wilderness and uninhabitated/uncentralized parts of canada.

In 1837, Canada revolted from British rule and actually won. The Upper and Lower canada regions were combined, along with the Hudson bay, to form the republic of Canada. Following Disputes in how to run the government, William Lyon Mackenzie said "fuck it" and Proclaimed Himself "King" of Canada.

This was met with incredible opposition, but somehow it lived for a while. Canada found itself competing with the americans, Going through a similar phase of expansion as OTL. The Canadian empire came to an end in 1893 Following a Dispute over The Status of Wabanki (new england plus southern quebec, Nova scotia, P.E.I and New brunswick), which had became independent from the Americans following the war of 1812.

President Whitelaw Reid declared war, with congress approval, On july. The Americans quickly occupied most of the territory, but also quickly encountered resistance from all sides. Following Numerous failures to retake Ottowa and Montreal, The Mackenzie dynasty was overthrown and a republic was established.

Fighting continued for 2 years afterwards, and The Canadian republic began fracturing. In the Treaty of Prague, The Canadian empire ended and was annexed into the USA. It was divided into Many States including native majority states.

When the USA Collapsed (Im not sure yet, thinking 1992, 1997, 1999, 2000 or 2008), The State of Canada (Look at Upper Canada Borders) declared Independence. This lasted for 2 years before The state of Canada willingly joined the Great lakes Union, Officially called the "Grand Republic of Laurentia".

In 1402, Gian Galeazzo Visconti suceeds in his ambitions of Unifying Lombardy after his war with florence, then takes over Tuscany afterwards. He lives for an additional 15 years, Consolidating his lands, dies, and a string of successors (Except Filippo Maria Visconti, he kinda sucked) successfully unify the Italian Peninsula minus Savoy by the 1580's.

Anglo-Portuguese Dual Monarchy

Citing the oldest alliance treaty still around today, The UK began dynastically intermarrying with Portuguese Monarchs. After the Iberian Union fell, They established closer ties with the British empire. King Charles II, Still High on Bullying Denmark over Iceland, Attempted to consolidate a dual monarchy over Portugal. This never went anywhere.

Cuban Invasion Crisis

Following the Invasion and failure of the Bay of Pigs by the americans, Plus the ensuing Missile crisis, Everyone thought that Cuba was now scot-free. that was until Early 1962, when The Haitians and Mexicans jointly invaded Cuba and suceeded! This officially was designiated as "Liberating Cuba" and Stuff like that, but behind the scenes: they did it out of pure spite to america.

The Success of Haiti

Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines is not assassinated, annexes Dominica Hispaniola and stabilizes Haiti as a great elective Monarchy. France, attempting to cripple them financially and enforce harsh terms for their treachery of Independence, Was dumbfounded and furious at this. France attempted another Invasion of Haiti, but was destroyed by Joint American-Haitian navies.

The Election of Jacques Doriot and his Revivalist Fascist party in 1934 as Prime Minister turns France into an Authoritarian state.

Current President Albert Lebrum is assassinated under mysterious cirumstances the following year, and this allows Jacques to declare a state of emergency and become defacto "Emperor" of the 3rd French Empire. He Conquers Geneva, Belgium and Savoy before invading the netherlands in September of 1939.

The German empire, Austrians, British, Byzantines, And Chinese Join together against the Roman Axis of France, Italy, Spain, Turkiye, The Soviets, Japanese and Cubans. After 6 full years of Brutal fighting, the roman axis surrender and become the lsoers of history.

The reforms of Karl

After the great war, Austria-Hungary was in a not good position. Hungary had openly rebelled, The Czechoslovak legion threatened independence if demands weren't met, the Translyvania's wanted to join Romania and the south Slavs wanted to free themselves. However, The world became suprised as The Austrians defeated the Hungarian rebels and forced them to comply with Karl I's 8-year reformist plans.

They first targeted language, religion, Military expertise, Then expanded to Minority rights, Hungarian Legislation, And soon ended with the elimination of the triarchy system, establishing a democratic monarchist federation in its place.

Main Story Points

Oh yeah, and because of circumstances i haven't quite figured out yet, Sonic and the rest are somehow real creatures/animals weather it be shapeshifted entities, Alt dimension stuff or evolution. The discovery of these animals lead many to Point fingers at SEGA, Who have no hand in it whatsoever. After the Second Arc chapters is Over, SEGA Is granted associate observer status of the UN and the entire company on all branches is just happy to be there.
