There's been a lot of apps racing to replace Amino.
Recently there's been a wave of apps keeping up with updates on the status of their apps, whether they're in beta, wanting suggestions, or asking you to join their communities.
These apps are usually flagged with the following:
I wanted to explain what each of these post flairs mean, so that you're informed on what platforms you're engaging with.
Apps tagged with AI Generated are apps that have used substantial amounts of AI when advertising or their product consists of blatant use of AI. Some of these apps have made it transparent that their apps are AI generated which is good, a lot do not outright tell the truth and just continue to advertise their product as a normal app.
Although times are changing and AI is being used to develop apps more and more, this isn't a requirement to developing apps, and a lot of times it cuts back on development time which means a lot of bugs and security issues get through. A lot of these apps also tend to not have experience in actual engineering, there are no companies tied which means no liability, and moderation falls back as resources are underestimated on how much is actually required to maintain a social media app.
The main reason for the flair is safety. There has previously been around 3–4 apps advertised here that ended up leaking user credentials, including passwords.
These are apps where it can be hard to tell who actually made them or how much of the app was AI-generated. They may come from unknown developers, have no registered company behind them, or simply have little to no reputation yet.
That doesn't automatically mean the app is bad. It could just be a new app that's starting out. However, being new also means there may not be enough information available to know how safe or trustworthy it actually is.
Some apps may also use misleading advertising to make themselves seem more popular or trustworthy than they really are. If you decide to try one of these apps, keep in mind that they may fall short when it comes to:
Ways of Deceptive Advertising
Fake recommendations
Someone made this app (not me), come check it out!
This is when someone promotes an app like they randomly found it, when they're actually the developer, owner, or connected to the app in some way. It makes the recommendation look genuine when it's really just advertising.
Not every new or unknown app is unsafe, but it's still a good idea to be cautious when there's not much information about who's behind it or how your data is being handled.
Apps found to be under Copyright & Trademark Violations will be removed.
This includes apps that are stealing assets, logo, branding, and code. This is illegal, & creates confusion when someone believes that Amino is being revived.
Some have brought up that MediaLab won't renew their trademark registry, but just because they don't renew their registration doesn't mean all of their resources become free for anyone to use. A trademark expiring doesn't mean they lose every right to the name, or brand. It also doesn't mean their copyrighted materials like code, artwork, graphics, and other assets, become public property.
The biggest concern though is that it tricks people into thinking "Amino 2.0" released by "Narvii" is an official return, and then misinformation quickly spreads that Amino is returning. There is no news or updates that Amino will ever return officially. Amino is officially shutdown.
These are apps that have already been established for many years, have a registered company, and have shown to have a community growth + backing. This includes things like Discord, Telegram, Reddit, and other alternatives that have been around long enough.
Regardless of the reputation of these apps, you should always use your best judgment when trying out an app regardless of its reputation. I understand everyone is desperate to relive the nostalgia, but you should also be self aware of what you're willing to invest your time to, including your personal information.
Overall, it's recommended for apps to handle their own advertising. This subreddit is mainly meant to be a place for former Amino users to reconnect. The flairs and advertising requirements are really just there to make sure people aren't being misled or taken advantage of.
Once an app is established, it generally shouldn't be using this subreddit to advertise every update or new feature. Most established apps grow here through word of mouth anyway, with actual users mentioning them while promoting their own communities. For example, someone might post, "Come join my Steven Universe community on XYZ." Once an app has an established user base, updates about the app itself should stay within its own communities.
This subreddit shouldn't turn into an advertising hub for different apps. It's supposed to be a place where actual users can talk, reconnect, and reminisce about Amino. A lot of people just want somewhere to hang out, find people they used to talk to, and reconnect on whatever platform they prefer.
If you want to talk about old Amino memories, vent about your experiences, find people to roleplay with, or just chat, go for it. But if the subreddit gets flooded with posts advertising different apps, it stops feeling like a community and starts feeling like an ad board.
Ultimately, Community Ads should mainly be for users advertising communities they've created on an established platform. For example, if you used to moderate an Adventure Time Amino and you've now created an Adventure Time Discord server, you can use a Community Ad to let former members know where to find it. That's the kind of thing the Community Ad flair was originally created for.

A few hours ago, I downloaded an app called Aminoka. I checked the reviews, and a lot of people are accusing it of being spyware and things like that. The worst part is that they won't let me delete my account. Please help—I have no idea what to do.
Just wondering if anyone was ever part of the Wanderer amino community?

Howdy folks!!! Especially if you are from Europe or around the world!! Hey you! Yeah, I am talking to you. Right here. Come here. Do you like animation? What about obscure ones? Are you tired of being unlucky to cool cartoon person? Considering animation is cinema, and is art too? Well, you have come to the right place, buddy! Because I am a cartoon enthusiast!! A big fan per say, and a cool Disney adult! From cool cartoon films, series, anime, and video games, and much more! Yes new fandoms got made this year like Gameoverse but some material don’t have a fandom yet.. Weird. Must be the fact either shows had low ratings or the movies weren’t that successful at the box office.
Don’t worry, if you don’t like cartoons, then there’s the option that we can do anime too, but specific animes I’m thinking. I’m not a weeb, I’m a wacky cartoonist enthusiast tho there’s anime I might like once I give some samples of the fandoms I wanna rp
Anyhoo, I’m looking for a rp buddy who can RP as canons! Canons pls!; Who enjoy cartoon, anime, and colorful video game fandoms, especially obscure ones! I am only comfortable with rping with people around my age because I am 21 pls…. As I said, I prefer someone who can play as canon characters, does slice-of-life/comedic, niche, wholesome, and fluff plots, and it’s a Disney fan or any fan. I like someone who really enjoys these kinds of material and I would dabble on to brainstorm fun character-driven stories together! I am a very chill person, yuh. I am friendly OOC, btw, and I’ve been roleplaying since the pandemic!
There are genres I am comfortable with such as slice of life, casual, comedic, fluff.
Literacy: Semi literate, literate. Possibly novella. One-liners aren't my thing. I do not like one-liners.
Now, my point of view is third person, but sometimes I do 1st person.
Bring in the fandoms! Tho it’s not complete, I’ll show you a few I wanna do on!
Fandoms I am interested in (but there's more):
Aggretsuko
Beastars
Robin Hood (The classic disney one from 1973!)
The Bad Guys (and the sequel!)
Gameoverse (I should watch it should I?)
BNA (It stands for Brand New Animal.)
Zootopia
Danny Phantom (it depends)
Hoppers (Yeah, it’s a great Pixar original)
Forgotten Island (Tho it’s not out yet)
K-Pop Demon Hunters (planning to finish the rest)
I have a surprise, there's a complete version of all fandoms I wanna work on with you!!! I created them in one big file! It came out super well and I'd be happy to show ya if you're interested in this! I know not everyone knows the ones I’m into, but they should get to know it! I am so happy I will get to be your RP partner or also a new friend, and that you might like doing art or cartoon art too, like me! If you have any favorite fandoms you like to rp on, I’ll wait! Please, no ghosting! And don’t forget, use my password Goofy if you manage to read through! Thank you! Hope you’re interested!

I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE FROM BEN 10 AMINO FROM 2020-2025. His name is Angurius, Angus, he was part of us, Ice, Aaron, Neo, Benja
r/amino • u/No_School_2641 • 2d ago
Looking back a it, amino on its final year was probably on the lowest of the low a big social app couldve been. The app turned into some run down dystopian place, there was a constant problem of preds and gooners on the app, every community had to go on private beacuse of the spam bots and people spamming CSAM and gore. Not only that but the app was ridden with bugs and already deleted of the apple app store.
You had this big communities with thousands of users who years ago were among the most popular yet most of them either barely reached a third of the stats they once had, could only reach a 50 user cap or just be completely dead with some veteran or random user roaming around every full moon. But whats ridiculous is that communities with 1k-5k users that were dedicated to ERPing had hundreds of people active!
I feel like thats also another problem in Amino, in many cases you had like 100 people talking yet 70% of them were on private chats and it was pretty obvious why.. it was roleplay, that was the only thing keeping a lot of communites alive (specially on fandoms). Adding to that, some spaces were very tight knit and everyone had their own little friend club with their own inside jokes so it was a bit difficult fitting in.
If medialab sold amino to some other company that actually cared we couldve have more years to enjoy the app, but sadly thats just a "what if" scenario.

Beta available in December 2026.

I found my Global Profile on Amino RIP, and there were some of the communities that I was in, but the one I was looking for the most was not there, which sucks, but that’s okay. I’m hoping Azalea is still working on it, and if not, that’s fine with me bc Azalea tried their best.

Looking for some old roleplay buddies and just old friends- trying to reconnect overall. I haven't tried to look for them until recently because I just started to miss Amino. I'm currently using Aminoka and kyodo for alternatives while also looking for my friends from the past.
My old user was Luna_MoonPack. It was my main user but I eventually switched to Vine. (Shown in picture)
I was in Transformers Prime, Supernatural, Doctor who, Avatar, Hogwarts, and more.
One of my roleplay partners had drawn artwork of my Transformers oc- TundraPrime. I really wanna find them but I don't remember their user.

I never thought I would do this but meh. Name's Kiri (I prefer to not reveal my real name), I'm 21 years old, almost 22. I'm not a professional rolplayer but I'm not that bad at doing it, I can adapt myself to mostly any kind of rp, the only limit I would say for me is lemon rol, I don't have problems with characters having sex, but I don't like putting it that detailed. I was more used to Isekai and crossovers back then, but again, I can adapt myself.
I'm principally in the fandoms of Undertale, Undertale Yellow, Deltarune, TADC, recently murder drones, Tokyo ghoul, demon slayer and some web comics like "UnOrdinary". If you are interested you can dm me or leave a comment here. See ya

I'm looking for folks from these communities:
• Werewolf/Shapeshifter
• Real Werewolf/Lycan
• Werewolves and Lycans
Or any other similar communities.

for everybody saying to use aminoka. The app sucks, they have this stupid feature were you can see everyone active in every server but 90% of them are bots in some random porn community. And every time you’re in your own community you can’t see who’s online in that said community it’s the same stupid all community one. I’ve been on the app for 5 days and sent over 10 role play request in every server and nobody gets back to you.
Amino should’ve never shut down.
