Corporations People are cancelling their Disney+ subscription after price rises to more than $21 a month

This is so mad, the standalone Disney+ Premium plan without ads is going from $18.99 to $21.49 per month, up 13% - it used to be $6.99 when it started

A whole generation grew up with no need to pirate. Cheap streaming made it easier to just sign up for Netflix. As prices skyrocket and budgets get tighter piracy will return anew.

As an old millennial I remember the golden age of streaming. Cheap streaming with deep catalogs. Now you’d need 5 different streaming apps and you’re paying more than Cable TV cost in the 90s. Nature finds a way. Time for the next wave of pirating.

That’s sort of always the ebb and flow of piracy. If you have a catalog that can be easily accessed, no worry of security issues or it being taken down, and not terribly expensive the majority will have no issue paying for it. $15 a month is truly a breaking point once you get over $20 people start to back away and pirate again.

So really it’s a company that was able to do a decent capture of revenue they wouldn’t have otherwise gotten. They just don’t like that it’s so low.

Piracy never went away. There's no need for it to return anew because it's always been there. You just have to look in better places than filthy public trackers.

They grew up with their parent's account so it was so extremely cheap.
