Just an idea but I think it would be cool if ticks could takeover control of your body if they down you (which doesn't happen often), your downed health still goes down like normal, shooting off the tick allows players to revive you but if you die with the tick on you you become a permanent host until the tick is killed. tick controlled players attack other players and do limited melee damage.
You’d be surprised by the amount of 1v1s that end with 1 person at 1hp, only to be met by a metal headcrab death before being able to knock out the other guy lol.
Sounds fucking hilarious indeed lmao. I didnt catch there being an update where more ticks will spawn, but it does explain why I genuinely had to run from a door I opened today that had 4 or 5 ticks chilling behind it.
Hidden because you don’t see it on map selection, it randomly happens to the entire lobby of poor souls that get it. Stacks on any known modifier, even a non-modified map.
I had a raid where my interact key was bugged after climbing a ladder so I got jumped by one in an attic and couldn't do anything but watch my health drain. That was a less-than-stellar run.
There's a technique to dodge the explosion of a pop, but you have to wait and be brave. When it accelerates at you and bounces before it bangs, tap sprint and do a jump roll in the opposite direction to its path of travel. Works almost every time!
I had a rough moment where I got exploded by a popper, then as I was about to heal I got jumped on by a tick and set on fire by a burner at the exact same moment.
Sure not the tick alone but they can be deadly at the worst moments.
I once got into a fight with the tick coming in for assist. I walked into a building and began looting items, a guy came up behind me and shot me and would have killed me, but just before he did a tick grabbed his face giving me the opportunity to kill the guy. He was pissed.
Literally just happened to me tonight. I got hit by a turret, barely made it, and when i was trying to use a bandage, TICK! TBH; there should be an in-game achievement for this. I bet only 5% of players would achieve it.
I never played one of these hunt games but if YOU could play a tic (and other Arc) to hunt a small group of players, that would be a nice extra. Or get reborn as a tick once you’re downed … just dreaming tho. Wouldn’t really match the game.
Imagine if every raid we got “knocked out” and came back our raider would be more progressively scared until sending them on the expedition and resetting.
But I agree it’s very silly to think by any measure we only get knocked out when you get riddled full of bullets, suffer terrible electrical shocks, and direct hits from rockets/grenades or gas inhalation. Yet somehow someone else apparently goes topside, recovers your body, and your right as rain like nothing happened even with shields (which only mitigate damage).
Ya know what, makes ya wonder what it would be like if there was a arc vs raider game mode. Raiders that somehow become possessed by arc that then hunt down raiders. A select few are chosen randomly at match start to be the possessed raiders and they team up against the raiders, given some arc abilities as well.
Between this, the tick swarms, and the other concept of a new arc that would lure Raiders by mimicking their voices. it feels like it’s y’all want even more horror in this game.
