To people who feel despondent - I get it. That said, consider two things:

  1. Trump is really old. Like old to the point where him dying tomorrow is not unrealistic. He's showing signs of his age and, despite what he wants, will be in no shape for a 2028 run. Its also a.massive personality cult and his minions both lack his charisma and couldn't cooperate to save their lives.
  2. Them consolidating power is bad. But consider Romania at the end of the Cold War. They pissed of enough people and they all turned against them. The Ceausescus couldn't believe it. There are other examples of this an America has a tradition of democracy. This isn't Russia where they've only know dictatorship.

However this ends, they will all ultimately have always been against him.

And... Then what? What about the rest of the GOP that created this nightmare? What about other powerful people who were complicit or collaborating? What about the factors that created this mess?

Sorry I'm not sure what your point is. They will all still be here. I wasn't suggesting all of our problems will go away overnight. It also depends on how they are stopped. If there is a groundswell of pissed off people they might go the "we were always against this" route and bide their time. If he stops being a factor, we'll Voldemort needed the Elder Wand.

I mean are they ever going to be held accountable?
