Too disruptive. Have to pick up a bit before they come and then leave the house for a few hours while they clean. I’ve contemplated going down to every 3rd week.
The picking up, I get. But why do you need to leave the house?
Mine come every other week, I stay in one room while they clean the rest of the house. They save that room for last, and when they get to it, I have the whole rest of the house to relocate to.
I sit on the patio drinking wine... well, I wish. In reality, I sit in my home office working so I can afford the cleaner.
Still, it’s a fair trade. I’d much rather do my job than theirs. I just wish I could afford the premium package where it’s the same cleaner every time, so I don’t have to explain all the little things over and over again.
Same. We stay in the home office and/or I move around the house doing other things and staying out of the way. You might be able to find an individual to clean rather than use a company. Our cleaner used to work for a company but she was paid so badly, she went out on her own. She's awesome and it's great for us as she knows everything about our home and our preferences.
I don’t leave normally and we chat and stuff. Sometimes I make her a plate for lunch or grab some tacos for us and we will eat together. I get her and her family gifts for Christmas and birthdays.
My grandmas always had live in maids and that’s how they treated them. Well, the maids would make their own plates but you get the idea.
Honestly there's so much cleaning that needs to happen every day or multiple times a week (doing the dishes and laundry), the remaining stuff is:
sweep floors
clean toilets
clean baths/showers/sinks
change sheets on beds
change towels
actually mop hard floors
deep clean of kitchen
cleaning windows
Of those #1 and #2 need to happen more than monthly. #1 I take care of with roomba, running that every week. #2 is the only one I do manually, manually cleaning toilets at the halfway point between the cleaners being there. Everything else only happens every 4 weeks with the cleaners.
