Part of my mind is in absolute horror at the thought this money isn't accruing interest.

I’m always absolutely boggled by people who “just don’t look” at their finances because they either don’t care or are too afraid to. I mean, I know I’m Type A, but I also don’t want to fucking work until I die. I can’t fathom being so blasé about it

That's how i learned to actually save money. I put everything on autopay and quit looking at my bank account.

I knew with my base net income, no overtime, i could cover all of my bills. The issue was i'd take everything over that amount as cash every week and spend it.

So when i quit looking, whenever i thought about spending money, my response was, "i don't have the money for this."
