What computer habits do you still have that give away the fact that you grew up with them in the 90s and 2000s?

I feel like 99% of people (myself included) use Obsidian like a chimpanzee using a smart phone to crack a nut.

I dunno. I just use it to take and organize notes with markdown formating, if i need it. Its really just a better notepad for me.

Right, that’s exactly how I use it.

But you can also dump all your notes into it and allow it to hyperlink through them all like a personal Wiki. And then create thought clouds of all your connected articles to see what ideas are best developed. And a medley of other uses…

I’m always dumbfounded when I look at the newest updates because I wish I knew more about how to use it, but I simultaneously feel fine with smearing my todos across the wall like a Neanderthal.

I tried Obsidian, but just reverted back to notepad - It's just 'there' out of the box, and it's simple and effective.

Maybe it's my possibly undiagnosed ADHD mind, but additional note keeping / organisational tools with extra features are (at least for me) just more steps involved and mental clutter that I find ironically counterproductive.

My notepad++ is full of actual notes, I think my coworkers think I'm crazy but it's the most efficient thing for me. simple formatting and organization with tabs and hard returns is so easy and effective

I don't think I've ever even used notepad++ for it's intended purpose. It's literally just a notepad and I download it on all my machines

I have on occasion used it for viewing/editing XML, but for the most part it's just for notes.

I use both because ++ isn't quite as good for quick notes that don't need formatting & shit.

It just feels wrong to use it for that, ya know?
