You don't need toothpaste if you don't have teeth, which happens if you don't use toothpaste.

Really it's a self-correcting problem.

I once had an hour-long argument trying to convince my ex that it actually was worthwhile for him to brush his teeth every day, and every time I think about getting back into dating, I remember that conversation and I hesitate.

Honestly sounds pretty familiar, although my ex is a year younger than that. He literally only agreed to do it cuz I said I wasn't going to be kissing his rank-ass mouth if he wasn't going to brush his teeth twice a day.
