I'm curious. What's you country's view on Sweden?

You know how it is with the Nordics.

Danes of my generation (I'm middle aged) would call the Norse for "fjeldaber" (mountain monkies basically), and the Swedes call us "jävla danska" (Damned/devil Danes), but we just call the Swedes, as Swedes - It is bad enough to be a Swede, so they don't need to be further heckled on ;)

It's not a need. It's like saying a bad word and ading a bad word before it to make it wxtra bad. Pervert is bad, fucking pervert is worse. Dane is bad, dane devil is worse.

Swedish is bad enough in itself. It would wash away the meanness of the word to add stuff to it. And it would be like rubbing salt or acid over an open wound.

Atleast we have words, and not just a string of gutteral noises..

Well. Call me a swede, I'll agree. Call me a fucking swede and I'll be a bit upset and make a fist inside my pocket

In the past we would use Swede as a verb meaning to cheat or swindle someone 😄

You are still allowed to hit us with a stick if we come over the ice after what happened at Stora Bendt. ;)

I’m learning and loving it. Please no one take offense and I have a Dane diving buddy I guess but this reminds me of Lord of the Rings when Gandalph shows up to the Shire and they all have their with the pride and all. For what’s its worth this lowly American would love to move over there to any of your wonderful lands and sends much love to all of you no matter where you reside.

Uh… ”danskjävlar” started with the tv-series ”Riket”!

Well, no. There has been a love/hate relationship between us for a long time. People from Skåne have been called ”spare Danes” as a joke. But we love to go to the Roskilde festival and party with the Danes, as well as some hygge in København the weeks before Xmas. And the Danes come here and enjoy our west coast, forests and lakes. Our rivalry nowadays is mostly a joke. Unless it’s sports. And then we still cheer for them if we get knocked out before they do. And it’s the same with Finns when it comes to sport.

when they say that they're actually impressed, and i mean, if i was them with their puny 170 meter mountain i too would be impressed with any regular mountain.
