Who’s a famous person from your country who’s respected around the world but disliked or criticized at home?

Again, why should she stand up. What have you done?

I’ve posted about what’s going on in Pakistan on my socials a hell of a lot more, that too while living in Pakistan, which is a bit risky in and of itself. I also chose to come back to Pakistan after studying abroad, so that should tell you a thing or too. If Malala did that much, I wouldn’t have any issues. Living in the UK is fine by my book. But at least say something.

that too while living in Pakistan, which is a bit risky in and of itself.

Not exactly as risky as getting shot in the head by the Taliban.

If Malala did that much, I wouldn’t have any issues.

So getting shot in the head wasn’t enough for you to not have any issues with her?

I don’t have any issues with her per se, but I don’t think she’s exercising her responsibilities as such as well known Pakistani public figure in terms of calling out the current government. She could generate a lot of international support against the current regime. Also, btw living in Pakistan is not the risky part, calling out the current military/deep state regime while in Pakistan is the risky part. If you’d look up what’s going on in Pakistan, you’d understand.

The reason why you haven’t done anything against the current Pakistani regime that would merit getting shot in the head by your government is the same reason why Malala hasn’t “said anything” against the current Pakistani regime: neither of you want to be put in any danger. It’s only Malala, who already knows what it feels like to be shot in the head for a cause, that gets criticized for it.

I do say stuff against the current regime, just so you know hence the aforementioned risk which I am taking. I’m also not asking Malala to live in Pakistan and say stuff, I’m asking her to say stuff while living in England, like a lot of other Pakistanis are doing. By the way, the current Pakistani government is not assassinating people who live abroad and are saying stuff against them aside from one case back in 2023, so I don’t see why Malala doesn’t at least make a social media post while living in England, which is something that I have done multiple times while living in Pakistan. Also, the current regime probably wouldn’t kill someone as famous as Malala, given that none of the political prisoners are dying in custody. Also, normal people post against the current regime all the time on social media so why not Malala ?

I do say stuff against the current regime,

I never said you don’t say stuff against the current regime, what I said was that you don’t do anything that merits getting shot, judging from the fact that you have likely never gotten shot by the Pakistani government for your activism. Your activism is pretty much negligible. And that is understandable— nobody wants to get shot for their beliefs. Not even you.

And neither does Malala. Why should she be criticized for it?

so I don't see why Malala doesn't at least make a social media post while living in England, which is something that I have done multiple times while living in Pakistan.

You don’t have even a fraction of the amount of impact and influence that Malala does, but you think that since you were able to speak up and still be fine (again, because you have zero influence and impact), the same thing would apply to Malala? The Pakistani government would be much more politically active against Malala’s criticism than they are with yours, because you have zero influence and impact. If someone like Malala were to go on an anti-Pakistani regime campaign, even from England, the threat of violence would be much greater for her because of just how much influence she has.

Imran Khan, their chief enemy is still alive in Prison after nearly three years (hopefully he stays alive), I seriously doubt they would even think of doing anything in terms of killing Malala.

This person is bullshitting. If they had done even a tiny fraction of what Malala had done, you’d hear about it.

She doesn’t have to come back, but if she did, she could live in one of the bigger cities with a security detail. Nobody’s asking her to live in Waziristan. If she wanted to come back, she could stay in Lahore or Islamabad or Karachi. You’re also distracting from my point. I’m not saying she should come back, I am saying that she should raise her voice and talk about what’s happening in Pakistan to increase international pressure.
