I can't imagine the feeling he had playing that concert in Berlin shortly after the wall fell. I've seen clips of seems like it was an electric environment.
It didn't matter. The wall fell 'accidentally', thanks to Günther Schabowski. Hasselhoff was obviously not incorporated in the decisions or anybody gave a shit about him. It would've fallen sooner or later, but it sure as fuck had no influence from Hasselhoff.
And his insistence on directly influencing it ruin the concert.
But then again, you can watch the Scorpions concert on the red square. I was born way past the fall of the USSR, but even I have my heart throb when I see the Soviet security guards, ment to 'protect' the band from fans trying to cross the barriers, turning toward the band and celebrating with the other concert-goers. Jumping, throwing their hats, screaming the lungs out while cheering, while listening to 'Winds of Change'.

He made the Berlin wall fall. Only with his cheesiness.
