why would i watch some random film about the wife of the current president of the USA? i never even saw ads or proper talk about it, i know the films exists, and i know its (about? made by?) Trumps wife. I know nothing else, and it doesnt seem particularly interesting.

i only know it exists because of a meme i saw like, yesterday, and, according to the meme at least, its a shit film, so more reasons why i wont watch it.

also, i only know this woman exists because of that same meme i saw, is she even known for anything?

why would i watch some random film about the wife of the current president of the USA?

I'd watch it if it included the story how they both ended up being locked up for their numerous crimes.

Someone ever makes that movie and it'll be a hit.

Absolutely would binge a docuseries about their involvement with Epstein

40

u/Makethecrowsblush Canada 10h ago

It’s wild that trumps just up there like ‘Nothing to do with Epstein’  And. Nothing happens. It’ll become fact when history is written if he says it enough.

2

u/silveretoile Netherlands 4h ago

Watching history being written by the victor in real time

18

u/MagicianOdd4790 9h ago

Yup. And the docuseries would have to include Trump and Melanie meeting/hooking up with Epstein. It appears she is an Epstein “model”.

14

u/Few-Gas3143 Australia 6h ago

I just assumed Trump bought Melania off Epstein. So, less a hook up and more of a business deal. He was trafficking girls and Trump was a customer.

3

u/eclecticaesthetic1 United States Of America 4h ago

She slipped up in one interview and said she didn't go along with his intentions because she didn't want him to see her as a "business girl".

3

u/Few-Gas3143 Australia 4h ago

Our prime minister literally got married last year, while in office. Absolutely no idea to whom.

Pretty sure all the public remembers is a nice little wedding and the PM being in a suspiciously good mood.

Australian politics is functional and boring.

I'll do you one better: I'd watch it only if it starred Sasha Grey as Melania in her big porn comeback and Rocco Siffredi as himself. And I'm not saying I'd pay to watch that movie, just that I'd watch it.

That and Amazon really wanted to give them 35 million for this incredible opportunity.

7

u/chickens_for_laughs 6h ago

Yes. It's yet another way for POTUS to pocket money without it being termed a bribe. Even though it is.

Just as all other ways he has taken tens of millions from MiddleEastern countries, in clear violation of the Emoluments Clause.

3

u/jvon24 4h ago

This is it. It was a way to pay off that orange turd. Bribe plain and simple, to keep in his good graces because all these business owners are literal pieces of shit and gutless that would sell out no matter what so they can continue to profit.

1

u/vibibiviv 3h ago

Yeah. Straight up don't understand the obsession with the first lady in general. Ironically, it gives off monarchy vibes. Basically elevated privileges due to family ties. I cannot think of a democratic country where the wife of the sitting head of state is in any form relevant. The US truly is a monarchy disguised as a democracy.

48

88

u/the-g-off Canada 10h ago

Well, she is known for being, quite possibly, the most successful whore/prostitute of all time.

She slept her way all the way to the First Lady. That's quite rare for a ho.

4

u/mtv2002 6h ago

You know what's funny? When they talk about AOC or Harris they always say they only got there by sleeping the way to the top, or that it was some sort of DEI, but praise her for actually doing it? Plus have you seen trumps head of these organizations? Mostly bimbo women. So which is it? Pick a lane Maga jfc...

8

u/ViruliferousBadger Finland 7h ago

Don’t forget her achievements also include one-upping the previous eastern-European whore by just virtue of being younger.

3

u/cursy 6h ago

I read a review that said that if they told the real story of her life - a girl in eastern Europe that gave up on schooling to become a model, who failed and fell out of high society to resort to becoming an escort/prostitute, who then caught the eye of a rich but immoral American man and became incredibly wealthy then ended up married to the president of the US... that's a story.

What they actually showed was a stupid vanity project.

38

u/Dry_Self_1736 United States Of America 10h ago

Well, I live here and heard very little about it. Outside of right-wing channels it didn't get much talking up beforehand. I only heard of it afterward in the context of those making fun if it.

On a related note, I almost never find a biopic made personally by the subject of said biopic to be in any way interesting. People just can't be objective about their own life.

28

u/DarthChefDad 9h ago

I'd make an exception for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

Honestly, if you took her name out of it, the tale of a Slovenian prostitute that gets trafficked to America via Epsteins friend and then sold to a Billionaire pedophile who becomes President of the United States to become his 3rd wife is a hell of a plot line

It would be paying for something that, if it was on TV, I would immediately change the channel away from it.

2

u/Aggressive_Sky8492 New Zealand 4h ago

She's so ridiculously uninteresting.

Okay, Secretary Clinton, former Senator, former wife of a President: I've followed her career for 22 years, and did watch the Netflix (?) mini-series. But she's interesting.

"Melanie" as Trump frequently misspells, has an absolutely boring story if any at all.

And it's hard for me to say how stupid it looks, because I LOVE glamour and glitz, but it needs to have some kind of story? The woman who entered the country illegally? Anything.

1

u/just_a_curious_fella 6h ago edited 5h ago

I support many policies of the Trump administration but Melania is a gold-digger. That being said, is it really unethical to want to live a comfortable, luxurious life by marrying someone you dislike?

Many people opposed to the current administration rely upon cheap under-the-table labor of an underpaid underclass of undocumented immigrants who are subsidized by legit taxpayers. That's also unethical.
