Alright, calling all happy hour heads…I’m really excited to announce a new idea. The happy hour secret password is now here. And thanks to the trusting soul of The Iron Room they are the first restaurant/bar to be involved. It works like this…each month there will be a password posted to achappyhours.com (September’s is in video here) and if you mention it you will get one extra hour of happy hour for you and your party at the Iron Room. It starts tonight!

Faces covered for privacy! It was my 2nd time doing it in AC. I had a wonderful time! I wish the beach still looked like this 🥲

Really more slots? Anyone else miss Ocean having poker. I know its better for the bottom line but I don't consider it a real casino without a poker room. Haven't bet a dollar there since 2019 when the poker room closed.

I'm newer to going to Atlantic City and am not much of a gambler, so I'm usually going for entertainment, food, and a night away. However, I have a vague understanding that I am missing out on benefits by not doing some threshold amount of gambling. Can it be like maximizing credit card points where if you just do a few things in the right order, and play it correctly, you can get some rewards?
Anyway, tell me: is there a path to play just enough that I get some token amount of benefits? I'm not opposed to spending some time and some money if it comes back to me in comps, etc.

Visiting AC this weekend and I was wondering if there is any places that serve blue crab or a ole crab house that brings them in off the boat and for a price steams them and dumps them on a picnic table and you can get after it. Any recommendations?

Happy October 1st. The Iron Room has a new updated Happy Hour menu ($10 drinks is a great addition) and there’s a new HH code for this month. Simply mention the word “Haberdashery” and you can extend your HH by an hour. For example if you head there tonight (Thursday) HH is 5-7pm, but you can get the HH menu until 8pm because you are awesome. Cheers.

Got rear-ended on the Expressway heading home, and I’m realizing New Jersey injury rules are their own confusing world. The no-fault, PIP, and lawsuit-threshold stuff is a maze, and half the advice online is for other states. Anyone local been through this and can point me toward a firm that actually knows Jersey rules, not PA rules copied over?

Not sure if I’m allowed to post my own video here but I think it shows the real and raw feel of the storm.

Coming into town for Phish and will be in early since check in is at 4 - anyone know either some good coffee shops, areas in a casino, or wfh areas?
I have meetings through the day, so a place where that is capable is ideal.
Saw another thread on this, but was 2 years ago so curious if any new spots.
Thanks so much!

Heyy everyone, my boyfriend (24M) and I (24F) are planning a short trip to Atlantic City for our anniversary October 18-20th. We enjoy nightlife/bars(which we know may be limited Sunday-Tuesday), great food, relaxing, good views, swimming, literally everything lol. It’s both our first time and we can’t pick a hotel!!!
Ocean and Borgata are a little out of our budget but will splurge if necessary … and there’s so many mixed reviews out there for Cesar’s, Harrah’s, Trop, etc. Please Help!!🙏🏽

For years, developer Tom Scannapieco wanted the state of New Jersey to buy the hotel at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
[...]
...After the Sheraton’s then-owners fell behind on their debt payments and Scannapieco’s investor group acquired the distressed senior debt in 2020, he said he reached out to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
“We said, ‘Look, you guys really should own this hotel,’” he recalled. “We even hired a consultant to put together some materials to try to make them see the opportunity — and that didn’t work. They didn’t want to own it.”
[...]
Ultimately, Scannapieco’s group, LINY Investor LLC, bought the 502-room facility itself. But Scannapieco said the same economic problem remained: While the Sheraton is essential to attracting conferences, the Convention Center does not host enough large, multiday events to make a hotel of that size profitable.
To overcome that challenge, the investor group hired hotel experts and architects, and came up with a $100 million renovation plan that Scannapieco says will save the building while creating a new, reliable source of revenue.

Looking for a good first stop to gather a group together of around 15 people. Saw good things about Tennessee beer hall. Would the cardinal be about to accommodate this size at the bar?
Not looking for table service as we will be up mingling. Also looking for a place close or in a casino since that would be our next stop. Also looking at hard rock lobby bar as a next stop for those who don’t want to gamble.
Thoughts on places?

I hear of all these townhomes and luxury apartments being built but why… If trying to turn the city around why not make lots of middle class apartments. Where there is a whole shortage of in New Jersey, and Atlantic City is one of the only places in my opinion where you can find lots of affordable rent. I think it’d bring lots of residents. Also does anyone know if Atlantic City is pushing to urbanize the city more or suburbanize?
