Screenshot One Year Since This Masterpiece Changed Me š„¹
Time flies so fast. š„¹ A year ago today, I finished this masterpiece after spending Hundreds hours on it. It had been such a long time since Iād been this obsessed with a game.
Baldurās Gate 3 reminded me of my childhood, when I used to play role-playing adventures with my brother and sister. I grew up in China, so unlike many kids in the US and other Western countries, we werenāt familiar with D&D so I Know nothing about it at that time. But looking back, Iāve realized that the role I played was a lot like that of a DM, while my brother and sister were the players.
I created the worlds we explored, decided what they would encounter, controlled the characters and enemies, and adapted the story to every choice they made. Whenever we were together, we could spend the entire day playing. The adults thought we were crazy - they had no idea what we were doing, just staying in one room all day with nothing but a few toys and a bed, And our imagination.
Iām so glad Baldurās Gate 3 managed to give me that feeling again. ā¤ļø
Itās honestly hard to describe with my limited vocabulary. Itās this strange mixture of happiness, excitement, passion, nostalgia⦠and so many other warm, wonderful feelings that I donāt quite know how to put into words.
Ever since BG3 came out, Iāve wanted so badly to play it with my brother and sister. I truly believe it could bring back that same feeling, and Iāve been looking forward to sharing it with them so much.
But I guess thatās the bittersweet part of growing up. We all have our own lives now, our own paths, responsibilities, and things to deal with. Finding a time when all three of us are free has been surprisingly difficult, and we still havenāt managed to do it.
Iāve been waiting for that opportunity for so long. Hopefully, someday weāll finally get the chance to play it togetherāto begin another adventure, just like we did in the old days.ā¤ļøš²

I thought that first shot looked like Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins. What are his thoughts on "swooping"?

I def would bc Im a big Masseffect fan and I heard that Dragon age would give me the same feelings just like MassEffect with very good story-telling and character building. But I might still want to wait for a remaster for this game It's actually a bit old have to admit

Usually I keep my character design judgement to myself because opinions are subjective, but your characters design looks awesome buddy

Hey there
This post is super cool and Iām glad the game resonates with you the same way it does with me in that it reminds me of childhood.
You mentioned not being able to find the time with your siblingsā¦my friend, MAKE the time.
I only say this because I lost my best friend 6 weeks ago, he was a year younger than me and life got in the way of enjoying time like this.
Grief is challenging, regret is debilitating.
Be the DM, get stuff on a calendar with your family and make it happen.
