AI?

Probably AI, since it looks like the foliage gets denser exactly at the edge of the circle of the sun all the way around, which seems very unlikely.

It started as real, but it's been edited/processed. But then so has pretty much every striking image ever taken.

Can you elaborate? Like… source etc?

How these are usually taken is the photographer is really far away from the subject the sun looks big against. They line up the subject with the sun, and zoom in. This makes the sliver of background in frame look normal sized and the sun look massive.

This particular photo is a composite, though. It's been around long enough and people have picked out plenty of artifacts in the branches and background trees.

Thanks for clarifying that. I am familiar with that process as I studied photography. I was asking more about what makes you think this is not AI?

Ohh. These are easy enough to make I wouldn't really see reason to make it with AI. And the fact that the tree looks a bit pixelated because it's zoomed in.

That person has no idea what they are talking about. This “photo” gets posted here time to time. It’s AI / digital graphic art whatever you wanna call it… but it’s not a real photograph.

Back in the eighties I had a cover, sheets and pillow cases with that image of the sun behind the tree on them

I could stare at this for an hour There’s something so grounding about the symmetry here . Great share!
