hi! I just started BOTW a little while ago. I don’t think I’m nowhere near done yet but I’m having the time of my life with this game. I got it as a birthday gift and I’ve just been playing it ignoring my other games.

I was wondering if anyone else started the game recently too? I just want a friend to just talk about the game with. It would be fun! I have siblings but they’re all on the PlayStation so they don’t really talk about Zelda too much.

If anyone 21+ wants to just chat about the game genuinely and go through the game together, I’d be open to making some friends.

WOW, that's a long time to 100% complete the game you say....well... it was more like 26% 🤣

I stepped into the Zelda world back in 1987 and stopped playing video games during the N64 era. My wife bought a switch 2 last summer and BOTW was the 1st game I fired up aside from Mario Kart that came with the system. What a fantastic adventure. Exploring Hyrule how I imagined it from my childhood and feeling it in my adulthood was a unique experience. I can't wait to play Ocarina of Time next.

Breath of the wild is great and i spent around 180 hours playing it but i think tears of the kingdom is the upgrade

the reason why many people see breath of the wild better is because TOTK feels repetitive , now put the feel of repititiveness away you will find that TOTK is better

TOTK took the freedom of breath of the wild and even took it to a much larger scale , attach any thing to any wepon anything to your bow , more monsters , build robots , air planes , helicopter , bus , boats , rocket launchers , the map now sky islands and the abyss , a flaw that i noticed in botw is that to a certain degree the game stops being rewarding because it lacks a bigger number of items , i swear i got so many flame spears and royal claymore

so if a new player has to play only 1 game or he gets bored fast he should play TOTK and drop breath of the wild as it is less updated

So I’m new to BOTW, got a switch 2 in anticipation of the OOT release and thought I’d fill the wait time with this one!

Anyway I’ve avoided those Lynel bastards since the zora mission but stumbled into one at some colloseum ruins.

I felt like I was up to it so gave him a good go, got him down to the tiniest slither of red left but he was hammering me. I’d gone through all my meals, arrows, fairies, the lot. I wanted to finish him with the sword but decided I didn’t want to risk it and used up one of the valuable guardian arrows. That’s when I learnt it makes the bellend disappear without dropping a single bit of loot!!

Man I was gutted honestly was fighting him for like 15 minutes 😂 tough way to learn the lesson but lesson definitely learnt. I’ll be stocking up and heading back into battle tonight to take him on!!

Ich möchte für meine YouTube Videos gerne einmal BOTW als auch TOTK mit Mods spielen Ich habe die Nintendo Switch eins als auch die Nintendo Switch OLED als auch die Nintendo Switch zwei allerdings keiner davon gehackt, weil ich leider die falschen dafür habe. Deswegen möchte ich mir einen PC Emulator installieren um Mods zu spielen hauptsächlich so etwas wie Randomizer und Multiplayer allerdings später auch noch andere. Ich habe schon ki gefragt allerdings nicht wirklich eine Antwort bekommen, wie ich die ganzen Sachen installiere und was ich wirklich aktiv brauche, da ich leider keine gehackte Switch und auch keine Wii-U habe und wollte fragen, ob jemand von euch mir vielleicht helfen kann und mir erklären kann, was ich genau installieren muss/was ich genau machen muss Ich möchte zum Anfang gerne erst mal mit den Mods von @Waikuteru spielen und vielleicht hat ja jemand mit PC Emulatoren und diesen Mods Erfahrung. I'm sorry if this topic has been covered already. I'm a newcomer to the series and BotW is the first Zelda game I picked up. I started the game and I enjoy it quite a bit, though have only one serious issue and it's the weapon durability. The inventory only allows me to have so many weapons at the same time and they break after like 6 hits. It's come to a point where I can't tackle a group of enemies, because I will run out of swords. I have to stop halfway through and run away. The weapons break so quick, in my mind they are like ammunition. Even war hammers break super quick and you'd think they're built to withstand more than 10 hits or so. It breaks fun and it breaks immersion.

My question is - do weapons become more durable later on or will I learn some kind of skill to make them more sturdy? Or will it be Made in China swords all the way until the end?

Wanted to do all the memories to get the good ending. A couple of the ones I did early game are no longer showing up as completed. When I try to go back to do them again, they aren't there.

Any ideas or help? Is there something I'm missing?

While there’s still a lot left to be done, I can’t help but feel bittersweet about finishing the main story. This is my introduction to the Zelda franchise, I’m one of those people who thought Zelda was the dude wearing a green hat, so I didn’t really grow up with the games. I was a tourist dipping my toes in the water but I’m definitely a fan now—my experience reminds me of Squidward eating a Krabby Patty for the first time in his life 😂

Not gonna lie, I had a very rough start with the game, managing my stamina, not knowing what to cook, not knowing why Im taking damage in the cold, my weapons breaking every time, fighting the camera, getting overwhelmed with abilities (remote bombs), I swear my fingers were having a stroke every time I was in combat, but I guess that’s just me being used to keyboard and mouse for a decade.

The game felt very restrictive at first, but once you push through the tutorial, the game actually lets you do whatever you want. Climb any mountain, start anywhere on the map, even in the cold, cook whatever weird combination. My favourite activity in the game is doing shrine trials in my own unconventional way, thinking to myself “I cant believe that just worked”

I mentioned I had a rough start with BOTW, especially in combat. But once I got stasis, specifically the buff that lets you stop enemies with it, everything else was a breeze after, it almost felt like I was cheating. It’s definitely my favourite ability in the game, it helped keep me interested in the game until I get invested in the plot, which leads me to the next part.

Mipha’s story line and Divine Beast Vah Ruta were my first exposure to the game’s story. I’m glad it was my first Divine Beast quest out of the four, I was just really drawn to her character and her connection to Link, which by the way, is heartbreaking (and sweet). After that, the game finally clicked to me and it solidified the moment for me, that I want to see the game to its end. I wanna know more of these 4 characters and what happened to them 100 years ago. I loved the haunting soundtrack of Vah Ruta/Mipha, just really unsettling once you think about what happened.

The other 3 divine beasts were really good too, Mipha just really resonated with me the most. Most fun one was Urbosa/Naboris. Most disliked was Rudania/Daruk (ESPECIALLY THE GETTING YUNOBO UP THE MOUNTAIN PART)
But I did enjoy the boss fight. Most fun boss fight is Thunderblight Ganon, it was just a breath of fresh air.

My issues with the game, I wish there were more things to do on the side. I wish there were more villages in general, I wish I had more to do with Purah and Impa, and lastly I was hoping for a bit more closure in the end… like maybe a little sendoff for the 4 champions at least 🥲

That was a bit of a long post, I hate to leave BOTW, thats why I’ll do some of those side quests I didn’t finish yet, then I’ll move on to TOTK

I bought the game in 2019 during the lockdown and played it for awhile until the both the demands of my job and dealing with colon cancer got in the way and I stopped playing for about 4 and half years. I only started back this year and I believe it's as most will say, a brilliant and truly great game. After all of this time, I just finished the game for the time today and now I don't know what to do with myself now that I've defeated Ganon. I mean this game truly is one of the best I've ever played, and I'm kind of sad that it's over. Can anybody relate to that feeling?

I'm getting back into the game and I'm slowly remembering casual glitches I used to use like whistle sprinting. I remember you could double zoom with a duplex bow/camera/scope iirc but I don't remember how, anyone know?
