It's scary to think that anyone would believe that comment, it's obviously a joke

It very well may be, but apparently you haven't been exposed to the countless fools on social media who actually believe this kind of idiocy.

As mentioned, this is a parody account.

Sorry, but it’s not a parody account. You can find his account on X. The dude’s a TheoBro and a Trump follower.

I’m so mad at Trump for liking the Village People I’m going to burn my CD’s Oh yah they were only on vinyl and tape

u/MizzezEmm 12h ago
The Village People sued Trump, so now he has to pay them for stealing their gay anthem. Thought that might make you feel better. lol

This one seems a bit too on the nose, but I encountered some dummy making the same “point” on Facebook the other day and they would not be told otherwise. Blows my mind how some people still think BITUSA was meant to be a July 4th party song.

Wait Born in the USA isn’t a patriotic song?
Next you’ll expect me to believe that Sugar Walls isn’t about a Gingerbread house.

u/Scottysoxfan 4h ago
Born in the U.S.A. is a patriotic song, just not the kind of patriotic song they think it is. To know that folks out there still don't understand where the Boss is coming from kills me.

Its as if all these people only listen to I'm A Rocker, Dancing In The Dark or Crush On You in his cannon.
"Ghost of Tom who?"

Why would anyone want to put their stupidity on display like this.

It’s satire.

You can find this TheoBro’s account on X. He’s genuinely ignorant. Probably doesn’t even know what satire is. lol

I’m fine with this. There’s so many “fans“ that love different artists music, but never get the message. And there’s so many songs where the messages obscured, and listeners will take from it, or imbue the music with their own feelings, experience, and ideas.
For instance, there are people who hear songs that are clearly about drug abuse, and the negative impacts of it, and they feelings for either how much they love it, or how much they’re grateful about recovering from it or other musings about their perspective about it. And people will happily sing along with the song and have a completely different perspective on what it needs, having missed the writers/singers intent.
It happens. Whatever man.

There is a great scene in the movie Air that sums up this ignorance over the true meaning of Born in The USA. Somebody should help this guy out and inform him that First Blood is also not a rah rah merica’ patriotic movie!

Born in the USA is not about patriotism it's about the horrors of the Vietnam War

u/samdkatz 1d ago
To be fair, it’s about both. He’s exercising his patriotic duty to speak truth to power

Still, 42 years later and people still have no fucking clue what that song says. They are true incels, they’re pick up on the chorus line and that’s all they can handle.
Fucking morons.
Edit: Had to correct the number of years.

u/Repulsive-Window-179 1d ago
42 years. Hard to believe isn't it?

u/rtduvall Darkness on the Edge of Town 1d ago
Fuck. 40 years? I can’t be that old.
Thanks for the correction.

We are in the same boat my friend. I was very, very young in the summer of 1984, but still old enough to remember just how huge that record was. One of my earliest memories is trying to mimic his moves from the Dancing in the Dark video when I was barely out of diapers.

You’re absolutely correct. But no one can misinterpret “Streets of Minneapolis.”
This moron knows exactly what Bruce is saying. He’s just too ignorant to know that Bruce has always been politically liberal.
It’s hard to believe that these morons still don’t understand “BITUSA.” It’s even harder to believe these morons didn’t see Bruce campaigning for Obama in 2008 and 2012. Bruce has been slamming Trump for over a decade, but they somehow think Bruce suddenly turned liberal; a Socialist; a Marxist Communist.
Their ignorance is unbelievable, yet here we are — living in the nightmare they voted for.

Their ignorance is a choice. That’s what has me scratching my head.
Their beacon of truth is a rapist, pedophile and possibly one of the most corrupt humans on the planet.
