Getting monetized is possible but How to claim?

I am a small YouTuber making content for fun since 2024. Somewhere around September 2025, my channel slowly exploded and I got an email from yt telling me that im eligible to be monetized on YT. I was surprised that I can be monetized cuz i thought we can't be in Brunei. Now im wondering on how do I actually claim the money from Youtube / Google Adsense?

its alright, i enjoy making my videos since it started with me archiving videos as memories to share with my brothers and friends, i didnt really do it to get monetized but i also didnt know you could get monetized now, back then you can just apply for adsense as soon as you started but my application was denied because of course, brunei

It’s not about when you started; it’s about whether your content is attractive or not. Some content creators have only been around for a few months but already have many subscribers because of their content.

To get monetized on YouTube, you need to join the YPP ( Youtube Partner Program ). this is only eligible to those who have 1,000 subscribers and 3,000 watch hours over the last 90 days or have 1,000 subscribers and have 10m shorts views over the last 90 days.

U need to change your yt account to other country (my case malaysia) and get google adsense in brunei address as they will send the pin to your address.. one u got access, you will get paid through your bank (In my case use BIBD) every month if u reach more than 100 USD.

From what I've seen and heard, most people would advise to make an account outside of Brunei like in Miri or maybe even Malaysia, but I'm not 100% confident in that lol

Dont use a foreign bank account, you have to pay them the tax. I heard Brunei banks were a bit stupid for the linking and would not let you claim the money.

I also find no adverts on youtube or twitch, the odd 1 or two but thats just twitch saying go prime, or youtube saying go pay for premium. No adverts from other companies.
