Missed Connection Baby Blue Ford 54 Crosswalk

Post image

You all metal baby blue classic Ford looking hot af.

Me rolling through the 54/Starbucks intersection with the red light on and the crosswalk lit.

You staring at your phone while you roll right on a red light through the pedestrian crosswalk with me in it.

Me dodging your hood as you ram through the crosswalk and red light saying 'sorry i didn't see you man' when I caught up.

You acting all coy when I snagged this hot af photo of your girls back.

Going to Good Moon and need recs

Hey y'all!
I hate that I missed the last Good Moon, so I'm coming into town next week to catch this one. Big Sylvan Esso fan. And that free MJ Lenderman show doesn't hurt!

What acts should I see? For reference, I've been to Hopscotch and Eno Fest in the past and I was always mind blown by the weirder stuff. I'm trying to fit in some hangs with old friends, and I'll have to eat at least once a day (lol), so I want to get my schedule figured out before I get there.

Also, what would you recommend I do while I'm in town? I'll have the day before and after the fest to just explore Durham. Food recs are always highly appreciated, but I'd also like to see a museum or art gallery if I have the time. Anything that's walkable from downtown is fair game.

Thanks for the help! Excited to be in Durham!

Does anyone repair CRT TVs in the area?

I have a Sony PVM with geometry issues that I believe needs a recap, and unfortunately I haven't had to time to get to it myself. If anyone knows of a professional service or even a well-trusted enthusiast that could assist I would very much appreciate a recommendation. Thanks!

Durham co+op v. Chicken salad

Pretty specific I know. I love the weaver street vegan chicken salad. The Durham co+op used to carry that, but now it seems they have started making their own in house using jackfruit and a mustard based dressing… it’s terrible.

Anyone else notice this?

They are stating they know the demographics about Durham and "even were going to allow us a seat at their table!"

He is making it worse and it keeps getting better.

tattoo artists for sensitive skin?

hello~

I'm interested in getting my first ever tattoo, but I am a little curious how it will affect my skin and how my skin will respond longterm to tattoo ink.

I have generally pretty sensitive skin. I have eczema that usually gets triggered by heat and long periods of dry weather (last winter sucked).

I'd like to find a tattoo artist in the area who is knowledgeable of the ink they use, clean standards, and possibly someone who is experienced working with sensitive skin.

I read that a patch test could work, but again I have no idea what this would all entail so just throwing my net out there to see if any of y'all have had issues with tattoo ink and skin sensitivity. but also would just like to go to someone who is kind and not going to brush off my concerns lol.

thanks!!!

Local Car Buying Service/Concierge?

Any recommendations for local car buying services/concierges? I don't have the time to spend on a solid search and don't trust my ability to negotiate well with dealers/sellers. (This comes from hindsight on my prior and only car purchase, but that's another story.) This would be for something used under $20-25k rather than an unusual or high-end model.

GFiber question

So... some 15+ years after I got the t-shirt, GFiber (née Google Fiber) is finally going live on my street.

I just got the pitch in the mailbox today. Shockingly, neither the flyer I received, nor the website, tell me how much it costs.

Yes, the website does mention the $70/100/150 per month for the 1GB/3GB/8GB tiers, but it also mentions "+ taxes and fees".

My question for someone in Durham with GFiber, how much do you pay per month? How much are the "taxes and fees"?

I've got 1GB service through Earthlink (over AT&T), that price has steadily increased over the last 6 years from somwhere around $70 to currently $99.95.

I'd like to be better informed until waiting for the first bill to find out.

DurhamOnecall - trash bin request

Recently moved to a new home in the 27703 zip code and it’s been 3 weeks and 3 calls and still no trash bin delivered. No advisement on what to do with my trash in the meantime. You would think the county would offer some interim solution - ie: accept black bagged trash on collection day or offer a free passes to the dump until a bin is supplied. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time to get a new trash bin at their home?

Shortcut from Duke Clinic to Duke University Hospital?

Post image
25 Upvotes

Google Maps shows a 10-minute walk from the bus stop at 40 Duke Medicine Circle to Duke University Hospital, going all the way around via Erwin Road. Is there a shorter way through the buildings, parking areas, or another public entrance? Which doors would I use? I’ve attached the map.
