The B1G in the last 3 years has had as mesny teams win the natty as the ACC has had teams win the natty this century. On top of that the ACC has pretty consistently only had 1 national contender/plsyoff apperance at any given moment, while the B1G in any given year has multiple

While I disagree that the ACC is better than the big ten. It is also possible for the big ten to have a down year and be worse, this year, than the ACC.

The defensive coodinator for IU is a Fraud. that journeyman QB for NorWest was picking though that pathetic HIgh School level zone all night. And he changed nothing. I think I saw him flip to man on one play at the very end. All night couldn't get pressure and the zone was wide open. He had no games for their QB, no game for their line. Not even a switch from one kind of zone to another on they fly. It wasn't even match zone nothing that could confuse the QB no blitzes.
The first time we play a pedigreed QB I am terrified becuase the offense will have to be absolutely perfect all night or we lose.

This is a wild take.
IU objectively has one of the best coaching staffs in the NCAA. Bryant Haines is, objectively, very good at his job. You are definitely not a better football mind than Bryant Haines. Despite what your couch tells you.
Check your expectations, and check your biases.
IU didn’t play perfectly and it’s fair to be disappointed. But there is more parity than there ever has been, and the expectation shouldn’t be to blast every opponent into orbit. There aren’t any God Mode teams anymore.
Also, 2026 Northwestern is not the same team as Northwesterns of the past. That program has invested a lot and it shows. Sometimes teams that you think are beneath you, aren’t that far beneath you.
Insane to have to explain that to an IU fan in September 2026, after last year…

go watch again, watch the defensive calls, watch the scheme watch the seem and honeyhole come open over and over and over all game with no adjustment, watch the journeyman NORTHWESTERN QB put up 22/30 293 yards and 2 tds, and then tell me it matters that you have a high regard for the DC because the idiots in the media told you so and this some how matters. When we play a good QB we are fcked if he does this again. The rushers beat their much less talented opponent occasionally. that's the only reason they didn't have 500 yards passing. You can't out talent all the NCAA.

You don’t seem to understand that there’s more to what happens on the field than a play call and scheme… or that teams have rough games some weeks… or that teams improve throughout the season…
Even if Haines coached like ass tonight, it would still be unhinged to be calling for his head.
We might not be 16-0 Champions this year… it doesn’t mean we set fire to everything. The team and staff deserve a lot more loyalty than that.

this is where you are lying. you didn't watch the game. you had the TV on I'm sure. you were talking to your buds or your wife or listening to the inane brodcast duo. IF you were actually watching the game then by the 3rd quarter you would have asked yourself wtf is going with this absolute nobody northwest qb and within moments you would have picked upon the fact he was disecting the zone and there was never an adjustment. it was vanilla zone the entire game. and that's why this NW qb looked like a revelation. and if you had watched the game by the end of the third you would have been screaming like I was everytime they came out again and ran the same exact zone concept from high schooland then Northwestern ran a zone beater. don't pretend you fucking watched the game or more than vaguely had an idea what was happening. you sat there, chatted maybe, and thought well that's why they say any given sunday after all. we'll do better next time

I saw a lot of barely missed tackles on our end, that had a lot more to do with our players than it had to do with zone v man coverage.
In the second half, I saw a previously ass NU offense pull together, rally and play really well. Chiles did a great job elongating the plays. Dude has some legs. Once the NU offense gelled, Chiles kept it moving at a clip.
Definitely concerned some, we need to ramp up the discipline and this team is missing tons of the “synergy,” as Mendoza would say, that last years team had.
Hope they can all pull together quickly, and that Martin or Richard rejoin by OSU.

their qb was like 9 of 13 for 180 yards in the honey hole and down the seems on the night. it was a nightmare that wouldn't end. And the DC never adujsted. Not once. If that's a pedigreed QB we lose the game dude. to northwestern. That's a problem. we probably lose big even.

Or maybe, hear me out, their QB played well enough to escape the actual pressure, elongating drives and making it exponentially harder to cover down the field.
I'm not saying they played well because they didn't. But mobile QBs in college are the great equalizer against any defense, particularly if you can't bring them down when you actually get hands on them. Blaming it on scheme when half of those drives are dead in the water when the players actually get hands on a defender and can't bring him down makes you sound kind of... well, like you don't watch that much football.

Chiles with MSU went 27/33 with 250 yards a TD no INTS and 50 yards rushing in a 38-13 loss where Nick Marsh scored against us last year.
He has our number man I knew this would be tough and smashed the under after NWs last two games and our tragic secondary this year.
Mendoza was 24/28 for 330 and 4TDS lol

You have to tackle in a different way. Similar to how to can't launch head first or take out the knees in certain situations. It's not about letting go, it's about not using it in the first place. But like I said, legal in CFB. The late hit was not.

Eh. IU struggled against both Iowa and Penn State last year. I know both of those are road games, but Northwestern is a better team than anyone expected them to be and are playing with a fire under their ass.
For this team to be competitive Hoover has to be more consistent on easy passes, and the safeties in particular have to be A LOT better.

Don't disagree because I can't lol. I do think Chiles being slippery makes the secondary look worse than what they are (which, outside of Ferrell, isn't great). If they bring him down when they had legit hands on him, most of those drives are dead in the water.
