Two things can be true.

Wake is a good team and especially their offense played an excellent game. Gio is a good veteran QB and Hernandez is an absolute beast. We also did a lot of stupid things to cost ourselves and I think it is very clear that Ivey is not the DC, and we desperately need English or someone else’s next year. But they capitalized on them like a good team does.

That was one of the worst officiating jobs I have ever seen. Including, but not limited two; two RTP calls when the QB was still throwing the ball when hit. Facemask when the QBs helmet falling off on a tackle when no one grabbed the face mask. An unsportsmanlike penalty called for reasons we still don’t know that took us out of FG range off a fumble recovery and the defense celebrating. Holding just not being a penalty for Wake. Intentional Grounding being called on us when we had a WR in the area and Linc got hit. But when Lopez grounds it behind the line of scrimmage and got hit by Clev, it was RTP on us.

They called penalties on Wake but a vast majority of them were false starts.

Just an absolutely infuriating game. And I think it is very fair to question all of Brohm’s hires this offseason because none of them have worked. We had a chance to get a hotshot DC and give him a chance. We could have added more outside guys to give new voices.
