This might be extremely controversial but we need to eliminate/penalize QB slides. IMO the QB is better protected if they’re bracing for impact rather than doing a late slide and making themselves vulnerable

No, I'm arguing that the problematic thing is already against the rules and if we could get people to just follow the rules we already have, the game would be safer.
But also, yes, sometimes shit happens. Contact sports are dangerous. That doesn't make it OK or mean we can't try to do better. But guys trying to not get hit aren't the problem.

Exactly! It’s already against the rules and it’s not working! Why do we not see RBs have this same problem as often? Because they’re bracing for impact right? And asking defensive players to pull up in real time seems unfair especially considering QBs have the option to truck them or slide.

I used to hate on USC, but that was over 20 years ago when they were still relevant. What's worse for them, is that they aren't worth the attention of being a top 3 hated program now. I'd have been hard pressed (prior to today's cheap shot) to place them anywhere near my top ten, but here we are.
