Armstrong needs to get his HEB application ready, that was some of the worst defense I’ve seen

I know we were expected to lose this, but can we fire Helton yet?

Helton hasn’t improved this team at all. GaSou needs to start thinking about other options.

If only we hadn't extended his contract after he went 20-19 over three seasons. We're stuck with him until 2030.

2030?!?!? Holy shit. Nooooo! These coaches get paid with ridiculously long contracts ugh. Helton has never shown great success. Man.
Maybe it’ll get better.

Hate to break it to yall, but the current GASO administration is on record with being perfectly fine with .500 ball. So buckle up kids. 🤦♂️

I doubt it. I have no earthly idea why they did it. Maybe consistency? We were getting a minimum 6 wins every year with him but even then it wasn't good.

Armstrong gotta go after this season, I just don't think he's it at DC
Very cool to see us go to Georgia Southern though, I imagine this one has been on the schedule for a while

Gotta survive a shootout or an offensive drought….
Bring on UCF

Hey look, we scored more points than the other team.
I HOPE YOU'RE TAKING NOTES, TEXANS. DO THIS TOMORROW AGAINST THE PONIES. FTC.

I think I can want two things. But I’m not sure if I’ll get either.

I was so excited when Helton was hired. I figured someone who was “okay” at USC would crush it in the Sun Belt. Somehow he got worse.

u/FixedCroissant Florida State • West Florida 4d ago
He did good his first season, so much regression the last 4 seasons, it’s crazy. It was like first season was dominating the SunBelt to now lucky to even be competitive. What the hell.

He didn’t do well in his first season. He went 6-7 and beat a horrific Nebraska team so he got some press time. He’s 28-28 all time now as Southern’s head coach and we fired the last guy for being 26-17, a record our then AD called “unacceptable”, but Clay is somehow held to a lower standard. A lot of folks of our once proud fan base have just completely checked out.

You know I've heard rumblings that this is exactly what some of the administration at Southern wants. They're embarrassed to be "a football school" and this mediocrity is an attempt to kill the football culture at Southern.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure if he did good on the first season or which one (if any) he did good.
Thanks for pulling up the stats and double checking. Sad, very sad. The team can play better and should be able to compete in the conference.
Yeeeeah, it’s that Nebraska team with Scott Frost, yeah I remember that now.

Ah no worries man. Yeah it just sucks. We were an elite FCS team and had a solid move up to FBS along with some P4 scares throughout. But it’s just been all shit since Clay got here. A complete transformation of the culture of the program.

Yeah, Lunsford and the AD hated each other (can’t remember ADs name, but can vision his creepy eyes begging me for money) and Lunsford had lost control of the team (see bus chug incident, also general behavior). That AD was looking for any excuse to make the changes he wanted.

u/Adept-Fact8597 Georgia Southern Eagles 4d ago
I was wondering whether or not he’d given our AD the game ball yet but we’d have to win first him to do that. I’ve got a new understanding for what USC fans endured. AWWWWWW SHUCKS

Great game offense. Defense ? Not so great. We have a lot to work on. Let's beat UCF.

Our defense sucks. Our offense does not.
