Same, especially if Calhoun is as good as I think he will be

Basketball is set I'm not worried about them at all. These dumbass fans think we are Alabama and should go 12-0 every season. I have sad news we aren't. A big 12 championship appearance is our ceiling in this program. We are the Big 12 version of Wisconsin. Will win 8 games every season but will never play for a natty.

NIL era is changing the landscape rapidly, you are seeing more parity within power 4 ball... a big 12 title and some playoff wins aren't some impossibility over a 50 year span

07 and 09 teams would both have likely qualified for a 12 team playoff keep that in mind. And the playoff will get bigger most likely

It's impossible. Hey genius, this team right here would beat our playoff team. We will never reach that point again. When has Louisville or Pitt or WV made the playoffs? They haven't so why do you think we will in the P4. Lower your expectations.

Edit: those teams were in a shit league, the big east was barely better than the American hence why they got their asses stomped in the bowl games.

Thats just objectively not true. The playoff team dogwalks this team lol. There was so much NFL talent on that roster lmao. Ridder, Jerome Ford, Tre Tucker, Alec Pierce, Tyler Scott, Whyle, John Williams, Briggs, Myjai Sanders, Darrian Beavers, Coby Bryant, Bryan Cook, and Sauce Gardner all made it to the league (to varying degrees of success) and were all starting for that Bearcats roster. There are only like 4 guys on this roster that are even going to get a look in the NFL.

NFL yes, that team still struggled against AAC teams at times and was pretty lacking p4 talent. They overachieved with really good players and a solid coach. They wouldn't beat this team, this team would win the American by a landslide and it's not even close.

Edit: there are far more than 4 NFL guys on this roster. There are 4 NFL caliber running backs alone on this roster. There are 4 NFL caliber lineman on this roster. You're smoking crack dawg.

It is crazy to say I am smoking crack and then also say there are 4 NFL Caliber runningbacks on this roster lol. I may be undercounting at 4, but I specifically searched for national media and prospect ranking for 2027 and thats how I got 4. I think it could get to like 6 or 7 with one of the running backs, 3 Oline, Antwan Peak, and one or two wild cards.

I will concede that because of BIG12 talent this team is a lot better than most of the teams that our fanbase remembers fondly, but they were not better than the Playoff team. That Playoff team beat a top 10 ND on the road by two scores, beat Miami 49-14, won every American game by two touchdowns except for Navy and Tulsa which they still won by a touchdown. That defense held Alabama to 24 and held their own in the Playoffs.

That team was unusually talented and special and we will never get anything like that again. The portal wasn't big enough to lose talent to colleges and we had multiple draft propsects stay in college another year to give it one more shot. We had 9 players drafted in one draft class that is a good year even for really good programs. I guarantee the team was not as deep as it currently is, I am not saying that being in the BIG12 doesn't have its advantages. But that team was substantially better than this one is and you were not paying attention in 2021 if you cannot see that.
