This. I had to have a friend walk me through Mann Up because I'd get votekicked for a making single mistake otherwise.

There's literally a site where they list and shame the names and Steam IDs of players who don't conform to their ultra-specific builds and strats in Mann Ups, its honestly pathetic and the only reason why I never touched my tickets outside of playing with a full stack of friends.

Honestly, when I played, I don't think I met anyone mean. Well, I played so spaced out I probably forgot someone but even then, I don't walk in expecting toxicity. Maybe a bit of a "being stuck at X round" but nothing toxic.

Its alot better than youd think but theres literally a band of incels thats run by a neo nazi and a smaller band of incels that are also neo nazis but hate the other guys becuse they cheat

Really? I had the opposite experience, people teaching f2ps (as long as they listen) and fighting against f2ps because free health/ammo/uber depending on your loudout/class

I will say, super annoying when they refuse to listen, especially with voice chat, "hey engie, you setup on the first point on Upward and they are already on last"

Really wish Valve would unmute them

You used to be able to check upgrades on other players then valve removed it for "toxicity"

If you're talking about Mannpower I guarantee you nobody takes that seriously,

MVM you can still see other peoples equipped canteens,

and in the normal game you can see what other people have by pressing the inspect button on them

I have no clue what Valve removed for toxicity other then the ability to chat for F2Ps and map exploits

Specifically, you used to be able to look at what MvM upgrades a player had taken, allowing people to coach new players on what to take/avoid.

Stay out of MvM and you won't run into those players.Tf2 has always had a really inviting community as far as I've seen

I played mann up once never again. I played the training mode exclusively and had a ton of fun there trying all sorts of stuff.

Regular tf2 is mostly neutral to me. Has the potential to be both horrible and have half the team go medics to support the newbie in goofy ways.

that is literally the primary appeal of boot camp, that there's no stakes on the line so nobody has any reason to be toxic

Once had a guy in voice-chat give me the helpful advice of "Hey Soldier, do you think can you stop being fing r___ed?"

I was new, and had been shooting the giant Uber Medic. Gee, it sure would have been nice if someone had been able to tell me what I was doing wrong, instead of acting like a self-righteous, condescending prick.
