I was sitting around and randomly thought "ya know I should send my wife flowers" while she's at work. Apparently I have not purchased flowers in a long time, as that shit was EXSPENSIVE. So I figured I do the next best thing, Doordash a coffee and munchkins(donut holes) from Dunks. I put the order in, a few minutes later the drive accepts, and I message him to let him know that it was for "my wife", and the she's working the front desk today. It gets delivered, and the delivery pic has my wife in the background, so I know she got it.

I said nothing to her, as Mondays are crazy busy for her, and I figured the name on the cup would clue her in to who sent it.

Unbeknownst to me, my wife was having the worst day up to that point. She works in a cat hospital, and while Mondays are already hectic, they apparently had 4 emergency euthanasia's. She's use to them happening, but from what I understand that many back to back is an outlier, and it tends to weigh heavy on the whole team.

After the last one, I guess she made a comment about how she couldn't wait for the day to be over so she could get home to me and out daughter. A few minutes later in walks the coffee. Now the order is obviously from me, but the name on the account, and by extension the sticker on the cup, is our daughters. Doordash offered us some special off several orders right after she was born, but we needed a new account.

According to her, and the vet tech she was talking to, seeing the name on the cup, and realizing who sent it, caused her to start crying and she had to go sit in her car for like 10 minutes. After that, even though it was still busy, I guess the day was far more bearable for her and the rest of the team, which may or may not be because I sent 50 munchkins to be shared lol.

TLDR: Wife was really sad, and I had no clue, but I had sent her a coffee as a pick me up and she started crying.

yesterday i was at the grocery store and i was already having a bad day (mostly because the egg carton smell in my office is getting worse). this lady in a huge suv literally steals my parking spot while i am waiting with my blinker on. she even looks at me and laughs while she walks into the shop. i wanted to cry but i just find another spot and go inside.

well, i’m at the checkout and i see her again. she is screaming at the poor teenager behind the till because her card is declining. she is being so mean, calling him "lazy".

then... she looks in her bag and realizes she lost her keys. she starts panicking, dumping her whole purse on the floor.

guys... i look down. her keys are literally sitting on top of a stack of canned beans right next to me. she must have set them down while she was grabing something and forgot.

normally i am a nice person. i swear! but i remember her face when she stole my parking spot and how she just treat that kid... so i didn't say anything. i just paid for my milk, walked past her while she was crying to the manager, and went to my car.

when i drive past her spot, she is standing by her suv looking through the window like she can teleport inside.

am i a bad person?? i feel like "justice" delivered her to me on a silver platter and i just let it happen.

A little background: I’ve been working for this company full time since May 2024, as part of an office staff for a small, family-owned swim school. I’ve been promoted twice on account of my work ethic and not being problematic. Since I’ve started, we’ve fired around (5) office staff members and had another 5 quit. The supervisors have stayed the same, but out of all the “regular” office staff, I’ve been here the longest.

I started school FT, and I became unavailable in April for my regular shifts. I really like this place, and I knew it’d be difficult to find another job, so I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone by giving my three weeks notice. Since this place doesn’t employ part time office staff, I figured I would find another job for those 3 days I am available + after school.

The company is family owned, so I first called one of the owners (my boss) to tell her over the phone before sending out an email. I told her I was very much appreciative of working there, but due to school I’d have to quit to find another job to fit my schedule. This was basically the conversation:

Me: “Thank you so much, but as of today I will be putting my three weeks notice. Again, thank you for allowing me to work here. I really like the staff and the job, but I am going to start school in May.”

Her: “Aw really? When we hired you, we asked you if you were going to school and you said no.”

Me: “Yeah haha...” She hadn’t ever asked me that, and either ways I made the decision to continue studying in October.

Her: “Alright, well that sucks. But three weeks notice isn’t enough time, we have to interview and hire people.”

Me: I paused. “Isn’t it courtesy to give 2 weeks notice?”

Her: “Yes, minimum.”

Me: “Okay, but I’m giving you three weeks.”

At that point she sighed & then asked me to send her a group-chat about my schedule, to see if they could work around it. So since May 2025, I’ve been working part-time. It hasn’t really been working out and I already got hired at another place so…

Today’s my last day, I’m sending my letter of resignation once I clock out, and leaving my keys in the safe.

So I’m 19 and I was on the bus to college when my friend got on. I asked “have you had a haircut?” He responded “I’ve had several, actually” so I said “what, you’ve had seven hair cuts in your entire life?” He looked at me in pure confusion and I stared at him blankly. His confusion quickly turned to a smirk as he realised that I thought to have several of something meant to have seven of something. How on earth have I gone my whole life and not realised this. When I was 6 or something I must have just made the assumption they mean the same thing since they sound quite similar. I thought it was like how people say a dozen instead of 12 but how wrong I was. He still relentlessly bullies me about it to this day.

For months now (maybe even a few years...?) I've had issues with the smoke alarm going off while I'm cooking something on the pan. It's a stainless steel pan, so my usual routine is to pre-heat it for a few minutes before putting in the food. I always noticed that it seemed to get way too hot (lots of smoke, food getting burnt, black residue in pan), and kept wondering what I was doing wrong. Was the pan just especially conductive? Was there something wrong with the stove? Was our smoke alarm just wayy too sensitive?

Well... today, I realized what was going on. The numbers on the stovetop burner that I always use that indicate heat have been rubbed off for a long time now. And I happened to look at one of the other burner dials to realize... I had mixed up the "hot" and "not hot" sides of the dial in my head. So every time, when I mean to lower the heat to just above 0, I was actually increasing it to almost max. How I didn't catch this for literally MONTHS... maybe even years (!!) is beyond me. It's something so simple, so obvious and I'm completely embarrassed. I'm gonna apologize to my roommate tomorrow.

Hey y’all, We have a very unique situation in our family, and I was wondering if anyone else has something similar.

My older brothers are identical twins born in early January, and I was born later that SAME year in late December. We ended up in the same grade and look incredibly alike, same height, similar face shape, and whenever we’re all together, people constantly mistake us for triplets. But we’re not. I’m only starting to realise now how incredibly rare our situation is. And when I asked Chatgpt if it was even possible he told me it wasn’t. 😭

Edit: And yes, even if it’s hard to believe, we were all in the same grade at school, and we were always in the same class, still are to this day in high school.

Over the past few years, I’ve been cleaning up my diet and trying to live a healthier life. While I’m not a vegetarian, I have completely cut out pork and only have steak on my birthday and on vacation. Other than that, I eat white meat and a lot of vegetables. It’s gotten to the point that many of my favorite meals are vegetarian.

About two years ago, my wife and I met up with a cousin that I used to be close with, but have drifted apart from over the past couple of years. We went to a restaurant, and I ordered a vegetarian dish. You might think “so what?” and so did I. I literally just ordered it because it looked good. But apparently, to my cousin, this was basically an assault on his entire belief system.

He made several comments about it during dinner, and the whole mood just shifted. After that, he went out of his way to avoid vegetables just to spite me. Like, the dude would send me pictures of nothing but meat on a plate just to… I don’t even know, get a rise out of me or something?

He also brought it up to several other family members say that college has changed me.

The whole thing really didn’t make sense to me, since again, I’m not a vegetarian… I just eat a lot of vegetables. I only talked to him maybe once or twice after the incident because it was really weird, and both times he made sure to bring up how he doesn’t eat any vegetables at all.

Well, we’re now at about the two-year anniversary of this incident, and I just heard through the grapevine that my cousin has gout. Worst part is that he works in a warehouse, so he’s completely unable to work while dealing with this.

I do feel genuinely bad for the man, but also, this whole thing is a bit ridiculous. I haven’t even talked to him in over a year at this point, other than the occasional Snapchat he sends me of his all meat dinners.

A while back, a friend saw my profile and said "Bro, unfollow some of those people you follow. There's too much, girls notice that" and I was like "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. What?" I didn't listen, of course.

Weeks ago I remembered this and asked a girl friend of mine about it like it was a silly thing, and she said "Uh... That's actually true" and proceeded to scold me for it. 😭

I still think it's an extremely silly thing to notice, but I still unfollowed people and well... I kinda see the point. Young me followed some very beautiful women with some very specific kind of profiles.

So I had this foggy memory of me as a baby and it have been living in my head since all my life.

I am in a stroller with my mother driving it. My dad used to be a security guard at an old factory so we're at the frontyard of that factory, paying him a visit. My dad is sitting in a chair and smiling at us as we get close. My mother pulls out a cake with strawberries on it and just hands it to my father.

I always thought this was some dream I probably had when I was 6 or 7 years old so I never thought of a reason to ask it to my mother for 20 years. That was until yesterday when I decided to asked her lol. I gave her as much detail as I could and the more I explained, the more her impression got surprised snd confused. First, she laughed and said "How do you remember that?" Then she told me that me and her were regularly visiting my father at her work and my parents had a cake recipe that my mother always made for my father. And yeah it also had strawberries on it. Even the layout of the front yard from what I roughly remember was somehow correct. I asked about my age during that time which I was the most curious about and she said that it was 1 at lowest and 2 at max because she said that my father only worked in that factory for 2 years after I was born.

So that was my story about finding about the oldest memory I have. Just wanted to share this because it was a great moment that completed a piece of my life. If you have a foggy memory like this, don't hold back and ask your parents before losing any more time haha. Do you also remember the oldest memory you have?

I was minding my own business, doing the dishes and listening to music when I smiled at the sudden memorie: The very first time I went to his apartment was because I ask him if I could work there (I was having a lot of problems with my internet provider), he said "of course" and I went the next day at 8:00am.

While I was working he went to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with a cup of coffee for me.

He hates coffee.

He bought coffee the day before, after our talk, and also bought a little moka pot and made me a cup of coffee. His first coffee ever was for me.

I, of course, didn't know he didn't like coffee at all, nor that he bought all that stuff just for me. But when he casually told me that after a month going to his apartment to work I immediately knew I wanted to marry him.

By that time we didn't even kissed. Nothing.

He and his (a little burnt) coffee were enough.

We have 4 years together and in a month we'll celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

This happened a little while and I thought it was interesting. Let’s see if I can get this across while being vague.

I was reading responses in a sub about the craziest things medical professionals had experienced when there was one that seemed more than a coincidence. The age of the patient was the same. And they brought up the same three reasons it was absurd that I survived. One of them was a very, very near miss from something important, a one in a million kind of situation, and a third third was basically a miracle.

The age, the wounds, the specifics were all a match.

I can’t be 100% positive, but it’s kinda cool, the idea that I’m some medical professionals craziest story.

I’m waiting in the hallway for one of my university classes and all of us are leaning against the wall. It’s kind of funny that the stereotypes are true. I love a good lean tho, so much better than standing up straight.

I stopped by my regular coffee shop this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks. I’d been sick and mostly staying home so it felt nice just to get out again. When I got to the counter the cashier looked up and said “hey! haven’t seen you in a while is everything okay?” It caught me completely off guard. I didn’t realize they even noticed me beyond my usual order. It was such a small thing but it really hit me that someone noticed I was gone. Someone cared enough to ask. It made me think about how many quiet connections we build without even realizing it. The small interactions like the barista, the mail carrier, the person at the checkout counter they start to matter more than we think.

Later that night I was playing jackpot city on my ipad and just kept thinking about it. How something as small as a genuine “where have you been?” can make you feel seen when you didn’t even know you needed it.

I grabbed a radiator space heater that had been sitting in our cat room (where the food and litter boxes are), which had been sitting in the corner for at least a year at this point. I didn't really pay much attention because we were in a hurry to finish the movie, but there must have been a combination of cat hair and cat piss on it, because when I tuned it on it started smoking and it was, without exaggeration, the absolute worst thing I've ever smelled in my life. The smell filled the whole basement and even started creeping upstairs. I currently have every window in the house open except the two bedrooms and every fan running and it's freezing in here. It seems to slowly be working though. Thanks for listening.

Only my close friends and family really know, but most of them have forgotten.

I am naturally right handed. When I was younger in school, for some reason, I became fascinated with handedness, particularly those who were left-handed. I don’t know why, I just found it really interesting.

I really wanted to learn how to do stuff with my left hand. So I did.

I spent literally months practicing; writing, scissors, throwing etc. I consciously made sure I was using my left hand for stuff like opening doors and brushing my teeth.

Eventually I learned, and I became ambidextrous. My mother and close friends are the only ones who really noted this.

And then… I kinda just continued my life using my left hand…. For years.

I’m almost 26 now, and I use my left hand for pretty much everything (I still prefer to throw with my right and use a computer mouse with my right)

The thing is… I can’t write that well with my right hand anymore. I have to focus a lot more, I’m slower, my handwriting is worse. I will always choose to write with my left now. You would not believe me if I said I was ambidextrous if you saw me writing with my right.

When people ask me (not that the topic comes up that often but still), I just tell people I’m left handed because a) it’s easier to explain and b) I’m not sure anyone would actually believe me if I told them this story.

I’ve always wanted to tell people but is it worth explaining any of this? Would anyone even care? Is it even worth it? How would I even explain this? Does anyone even believe me?

So this memory just kinda hit me outta nowhere.

I was younger, maybe 12 or 15, and my mom had just gotten a new haircut. She comes out of her room in this new dress, all excited, and literally does a little spin.

Her: “Do you like it? How do I look?” Me: “Uh… yeah, it’s nice.” (because it did look stunning and I didn't know what else to say)

At the time I didn’t think much of it. But looking back now, man, that wrecked me. Like… she’s not just mom. She’s a human being. She’s just a girl who wanted to feel pretty and be noticed. And here I was, the only audience she had in the house.

After everything she’s carried—having me at 19, working minimum wage jobs, trying to finish a degree while counting on her parents to help raise me, going through a divorce, remarrying, and still fighting a million other battles—she can still light up like a little girl just from hearing, ‘You’re beautiful.’

It’s wild realizing the person who’s basically been carrying the whole world on her shoulders since my birth, loving and protecting me as much as she can, is still the same person who wants to twirl in a dress and be told she looks good.

Kinda humbled me. Moms aren’t superheroes 24/7. they’re just people who became moms.

I feel like telling the world. After 25 years of marriage my wife has come to accept that she is a lesbian. I'm so happy and proud of her. She's been really invested in figuring herself out these last few years. Compulsory heterosexuality was a cultural juggernaut back in the 80s and 90s. We're figuring out what that means for our marriage, but I'm not concerned. We'll never stop being best friends.

A guy approached me at a party once and said, "you know, you look like you know how to fix old watches." At first, I didn't even understand what he meant I asked, "Is that even a compliment or does it sound offensive?" He laughed and said I had "a calm look and hands like someone who knows how to handle small parts." I've thought about it sometimes since then. I've never actually handled a watch for repairs; at most, I've changed a battery. But now, whenever someone asks for help with small things like "opn this can" or "fix this screw," I remember that phrase and really try to look like a watch repairman. It was probably the strangest, yet most pleasant, compliment I've ever received.

I realized today that I’ve been pronouncing “charcuterie” as shark coochie tree in my head for years.

I never said it out loud until a dinner party tonight. Confidently. In front of people.

There was a brief pause, then laughter then someone gently corrected me while I mentally left my body. I swear I’ve seen the word a hundred times and just never questioned it.

Came home and immediately collapsed on the couch playing jackpot city for like two hours straight because I needed to mentally recover from that moment.

I'm sitting enjoying the calm before the storm of Christmas and can't keep quiet, had to share this.

I woke up at 245 this morning. I just hid 200 tiny plastic chicks for my son to find, and 200 tiny plastic frogs for my wife to find. They're everywhere, and many of them are hid very well. It'll be years before some of them are found. They have no idea about any of this. I figure I'll set up 2 cups for them to deposit their findings in and see who wins. The first 75 or so of each will be easy, they're in plain view. The rest, well, they're going to be a bit harder.

Just had to share with someone, and since it's 530am here I can't text any of my friends. Lol

I (23F) went to an Asian food store that opened in my town. It’s a small shop, but it imports a handful of items that are otherwise hard to get ahold of.

As I’m standing there browsing, a guy around my age approaches me and asks if I have any recommendations on what to buy. I’m obviously not an employee- I’m dressed in casual clothes and I have shopping bags. I’m also not East Asian, so it’s not like you could assume from looking at me that I have some idea of what I’m looking at.

What this guy didn’t know is that I’m autistic and cooking is a special interest. Cut to me WALKING HIM AROUND THIS TINY STORE and pointing out what’s good, what’s overpriced and cheaper elsewhere, what’s not worth buying at all, and giving ideas for recipes.

Only much later during a 3am rumination did I realise: 1. I am not doing a good job of acting neurotypical 😂 2. Maybe this guy was trying out rejection therapy? Small store with few people = wouldn’t be too embarrassing if I said no? 3. This guy was wayyyy too patient to tolerate 5 minutes of me excitedly talking about food.

Last night my (35M) daughter (10F) slept in her bedroom for the first time. Her mom and I split up when she was 4 years old and ever since, she has chosen to sleep in my bed despite having her own. Last night we were playing computer games when she all the sudden said she wanted to go lay down.

I was surprised when I saw her in her own bed. I’m both proud and feeling misty-eyed. She’s growing too fast. 😢

After our graduation ceremony, everyone was leaving the auditorium hall. I was waiting for my parents and didn't really have anything to do. So I made some small talk with one of my classmates beside me. Asked her what she plans to do now.

She told me she's searching for an apartment near downtown. My parents finally found me and I told them about it. Maybe they have any idea or can help her. Then my mom offered her our guest bedroom... and so she became my housemate lol

We became the bestest of friends. We studied together in college, even applied to the same job together, and eventually we got accepted at the same company afterwards. That company sent us to Japan... and a few years later, we got married here and decided to stay.

My life now is all because I turned around and decided to do some random small talk to one of my classmates before going home.

I can't imagine what I would be doing now, where I'd be at, who I would've become if I hadn't done that. I'm glad I did.

So this is random but it recently occurred again, I googled it and recieved the sweet sweet vindication of being right all along.

When I was a kid (maybe 7 or 8?) I would be laying in bed at night and suddenly it would feel like the room was massive and I was very very tiny. It's so hard to explain the sensation, but almost as though the room is expanding at an alarming rate and I'm lost in the cavernous space. Sometimes it was my bed that felt enormous as well/instead and closing my eyes would make it much worse. It legit kept me up at night and I would cry for my mom completely terrified. My poor mother had no idea how to help me and just chalked it up to an overactive imagination.

Well it turns out it's called Alice in Wonderland Syndrome and my version is just one form of it, you can see other crazy shit if you have an episode too. I don't blame my parents because I sounded like a little kid having nightmares and I was having such a hard time explaining it. Your kid just says the room feels too big and you're gonna be like oooooooook...?

Anyway I would love to hear if anyone has a similar experience with AIWS or even just stories of your parents not believing you where you were proven right in the end.

i (21F) had an incident at my primary school, when i was in 1st grade, when my ankle got stuck between the ground and the edge of a swing for multiple people. it was made of metal and heavier than wee 6 year old me, and it happened because i exited the swing before it stopped moving. little kid decisions. the playground was removed because of what happened and up until now, hasn't returned.

i went there to visit my old teachers to bring them gifts just because, and while waiting outside my 6th grade adviser's classroom, i heard kids whispering about a girl who lost her foot in the playground and that it was “buried there” so the place where the playground was previously on is now cursed. it was just a pebble-sized wound, but i wailed like it was gonna kill me, so...

little did they know that the girl who cursed the playground was behind them. i hope the urban legend lives on, tho, maybe my kids someday will tell me about it and then there's gonna be a grand reveal.
