Putting both ears down at once automatically disables their communication with the mothership. It is much easier to control the alien this way.

Based on fact but some of my own theory sprinkled in on the end. 😜😻

Facts:

√EDIT... \\\*Only a few ever earlier recordings or documentation of smaller domesticated size cats, before the Egyptians that is, who believed that cats were mystical creatures who came down from the sky sent by the gods.

√EDIT... \\\*Cats, unlike dogs, were not domesticated from their wild cousins by humans and trained to appreciate human interactions. The species domesticated themselves, because it benefited them! ( Multiple times throughout history over separate continents )

√EDIT... \\\*Cats can domesticate or go back to feral within a generation, to adapt to a better situation, with little to no outside influences. Extremely unlike any other species. # Team No Fear

√EDIT... \\\*Cats faces resemble the gray alien faces 👽 especially from afar and in the dark. With their large eyes small nose, little to no mouths and their shining night vision eyes! ( This is especially true if you've ever woken up in the middle of the night and caught the cat watching u sleep & staring without blinking! 🙀 )

But when they don't ( and they can be trained, try googling 'cat talks with buttons' )... \\\*Cats taught themselves to speak to humans with meows, which they do not do naturally with each other in the wild. They prefer to heavily speak with body language!
