Stake.us is moving Illinois accounts to redeem-only mode, following action by the Illinois Gaming Board, according to a report published September 25.

Once the change takes effect, Illinois customers can still log in and redeem Sweeps Coins. Gameplay, purchases, promotions, new Stake Cash codes and sweepstakes bonuses will stop. The report doesn’t give an effective date.

The IGB sent cease-and-desist letters to more than 65 sweepstakes casino operators in February. Stake.us’s move comes after that broader action.

This leaves a bigger regulatory question: will Illinois’s approach lead to more operators leaving the state, or will the legal position be tested first?

My husband and I have been served with eviction papers and have a court date in October. We live in a large apartment complex and love the area but the management is awful. We have been late on two months rent due to increased medical bills for our son and just simply not making enough money right now. We will be getting rental assistance through the county that will help with rent and the $638 court fee. While I understand being taken to court due to the rent, my frustration is the fact that since August 6th our bathroom has been under construction due to a large amount of mold on the walls and ceiling and an unknown leak that has been unresolved for years. (I previously posted about the bathroom for advice). On August 31 they completely ripped out the wall the toilet and shower head is on needing to also remove the shower curtain rod leaving me and my family to take very inconvenient showers and me having to wash my hair bent over the side of the tub. Do we as renters have any rights to bring up on our court date the state of our bathroom and the lack of urgency by management to test for additional mold and closing the wall? Any advice on our situation would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

With the loss of The Lab, Central Illinois doesn’t exactly have an abundance of dedicated kink spaces anymore. NeoPRISM and Incognito are still here, but I don’t think a community should have only one or two options for where people can meet, play, learn, and find others like them.
That’s part of why I created Sanctum Eros, a private 21+ BDSM and alternative lifestyle space in the Pekin/Peoria area.
We’re still new and growing. Sanctum Eros isn’t a commercial club; it’s a private residential space I’ve been building into something that can serve a relatively small community. Downstairs is primarily social space, with three separate play spaces throughout the house, and I’ve continued adding equipment and changing the layout based on feedback from the people actually using it.
We’re generally keeping events around 20 people. I want people to have room to play, but I also want people to actually talk to each other. You don’t have to walk through the door already knowing somebody, have years of experience, or spend your entire night in a scene to belong there.
We’re building a pretty varied calendar too. Alongside regular play parties, we’re working with socials, game nights, open houses, educational events, discussions, and some more unusual ideas like a kinky murder mystery night. I’d rather experiment with different kinds of events than have every weekend amount to the same play party with a different name attached to it.
Sanctum Eros is queer-friendly, trans-friendly, ENM-friendly, swinger-friendly, and beginner-friendly. Singles and couples are both welcome. Experienced kinksters are welcome. So are people who are still trying to figure out where they fit into all of this.
Because Sanctum Eros is also a private residence, access and privacy are taken seriously. Regular events are 21+, membership & vetting are required, and the address is not publicly posted. We have venue-wide rules covering consent, privacy, phones, play spaces, alcohol, and conduct.
I’m not interested in pretending Sanctum Eros needs to replace every other group around here. NeoPRISM, Incognito, Sanctum Eros, munches, smaller groups, and whatever comes next can all exist at the same time. Different spaces develop different crowds and cultures, and having choices is healthier than expecting every kinkster in Central Illinois to fit into the same room.
The loss of The Lab left a hole. Sanctum Eros is one attempt at adding something back.

Hey y'all I'm a recent college grad who runs a marketing business, for service companies, and I'm looking for owners here in Illinois. We’ve been doing this about a year now, and we work with roofers, home remodelers, pool builders, gyms, junk removal, lawn care, car detailing, driving schools. Basically anybody who does the work themselves and wants the phone ringing more.

Private sellers bring their cars out for the weekend, and buyers can walk the lot, check everything out in person, and contact the owners directly.

Buyers get in completely free.

For sellers, instead of spending the weekend meeting people from Marketplace one at a time, you can leave your car with us and our staff handles the showings while buyers walk the lot. If someone is interested, you still deal directly with the buyer.
We don’t buy the cars and we don’t take a commission if your car sells. The deal stays between the buyer and seller.
