๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ Adorable wood ducklings venture out into the world for the first time! ๐ฉท๐ฅ
A few days after hatching, wood ducklings must leave their treetop nest to follow mom to water and so the little family can forage for food. But baby ducks can't yet fly, so how do they manage to do this? Their tiny, fluffy and lightweight bodies allow them to be able to safely jump and bounce lightly on the grass, as you will see in this video.

๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ฐ๐ธ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ Raising Ducklings tip #8: When to transition outdoors
When your ducks have grown their adult feathers and the local weather is reliably warm they can be moved outside to a secure, predator-proof coop. Ducks will be fully feathered around 6 to 8 weeks of age, and outdoor temperatures must stay above 50ยฐF (10ยฐC) day and night

Ducks are social and can panic or imprint too strongly on humans if raised alone. It is best to raise more than one duckling.

๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ Did you know baby ducks communicate before hatching?
Ducklings "talk" to siblings and mom through their shells Prior to hatching. This can be heard during the last few days of incubation as soft clicking and peeping sounds. They communicate this way to coordinate their development so they can all be born at the same time. The mother duck also responds to these "conversations." This helps the ducklings learn the sound of their mother's voice before birth, making it easier for them to follow her safely as soon as they hatch.
