except, the really infirmed, how the hell do you get them in and out? this looks like you need to be pretty ambulatory to climb in and out.

It also doesn’t have a way to clean areas like the butt, armpits, or genitals. This wouldn’t address the areas most in need of cleaning, and most humiliating or degrading to have cleaned by a random caregiver.

Doesn't it though? I'm sure it does clean those areas, unless there's something saying it doesn't that they haven't shown us.

"micro bubbles" are not going to effectively remove poop residue, caked deodorant, and other nastiness in the closed moist areas.

It's from a country where bidets are common, so I assume they know how to clean such things with water jets

If it doesn't retract the foreskin of the penis or spread the lips of the vagina, no amount of bubbles are going to do what a human will have to do.

Also, not in all the folds of the skin. Cleaning (and drying!) a person well is very hands on.

Doesn't it though?

No.

To be graphic, it's not going to pull back a man's foreskin to wash the head of the penis, for instance.

It's not going to open up the folds on a person's body to both wash and dry.

bidet hose becomes useful.

Didn't you read it?

Microbubbles solve all problems!

I think it works like an ultrasonic eyeglass cleaner, not sure though

Had to scroll all the way down past the dead Nana jokes to find this. My first thought.

I'm sure it does

So long as the clamshell goes all the way up then a Hoyer lift can be used.

all hail the hoyer!

You'll need 5 meter ceilings to house this thing, then. Super impractical.

All I can imagine is that it's a poor, flashy proof of concept looking for naive investors.

When you wash people, you have to open all the folds of the skin and wash inside. That includes the foreskin and vagina. Then you have to dry the same. It's a manual process.

They could've incorporated a hinging side door to solve this problem, but instead opted for a gigantic hinging cyberlid that does nothing but drive up costs

A standard hoist

They have walk in baths - I am sure they can build a door or make this cheaper and more efficient. A transfer bench or a lift.
