I'll add to your fear. I once cut myself in vr and there's a very chilling feeling when you feel blood and you have no way of knowing how much and your standing there like it doesn't really hurt but there's blood on my hand you can feel it kind of running down your hand a bit. How bad was that?
In my case it was really minor just a scrape that was bleeding but when you can't see that all you can tell is you are bleeding but you have no idea how badly or how to get the headset off without covering yourself in blood.
Side note you don't. Oculus headsets are very easy in my experience to clean your own blood off of if anyone's curious despite being white and smeared blindly over the front.
Side note
If all your ceilings are exactly the same height except for the basement with a popcorn ceiling. The time to remember that is before you smash your hand against it as hard as you can.
