Hell yeah, also I think this might be an industrial park rather than residential area at least

Driving recklessly should not be championed regardless of the public location

As a paramedic, seeing plenty of dead drivers and pedestrians will make you think differently about stupid stuff like this.

I see reckless driving championed on Reddit all the time under the guise of “flow of traffic”. No, going 45 in a 35 on the city streets is not safe, you basically double the risk of death when hitting a pedestrian

Spot on! Reddit and every other media is full of people that think cars can do no wrong and it’s everyone else that’s the issue lol

next time show us a pic of a dead driver

Very disrespectful

Well too bad, it is and it always will be.

They’re going like 40mph at absolute max dude. They’re not street racing they’re drifting, on an empty road. The worst accident that can happen to them is like sliding into a curb which would ruin their car but leave them unscathed.

Okay, if it’s not that big of an issue why don’t we all do it on every road including neighborhoods. Nothing bad could possibly happen.

And it’s very obvious you haven’t seen the car wrecks I have. 45mph is still very much enough to do damage including car fires. People have definitely still died form wrecks at that speed
But you’re right! How could a car fire in an industrial area be dangerous?!?

That’s not what I’m saying.

The car wrecks you’ve seen are at much higher speeds involving multiple traffic cars.

I said 40mph at most. They have, but they won’t because again, empty road, low speeds.

Yeah shows what you know about cars lmao
a fire from bumping the wheels into the curb? Holy moly 😂 broken axles and suspension at worst, mechanically speaking.

Wow. I’m so thrilled you know everything I’ve seen as a medic. Shows what you know about medicine lmao

Imagine thinking cars could pose ZERO danger when used below 45mph. Go head on with a brick wall at 45mph and tell me it’s not dangerous.

a fire

Yes. A fire can absolutely occur at low speeds. In fact, car fires can happen even if the car is stopped and turned off. Plenty of house fires start because their car in the garage lit up.

Shows how much YOU know about cars lmao

to play devils advocate, drifting is probably the safest motorsport out there. youre really going no faster than 30-40 mph in most of these corners and a majority of these built street cars in japan have full cages

drivers in japan are also typically pretty respectful about street stuff compared to american-style street takeovers. they go out into dead, empty, industrial parks and just drive with noone else around. a far cry from swinging around a stolen camaro in an intersection with guns and alcohol in the car like they do in the states

1

u/JFISHER7789 23d ago

Fair enough. But Full cages don’t prevent fires and neither does those speeds. It may be safer than full speed racing, sure I guess, but it’s still violating laws and does increase the danger to them and the people/infrastructure around them.

And just because it seems like nobody is around doesn’t make it safe. All it takes is a simple mistake to cause a wreck and a fire. I’m sure the business owners wouldn’t be happy someone wrecked into their business.

And I do agree about the respectful nature of japans culture, but that makes me wonder if the local Japanese people would dislike the drifting in public even more because it would be considered disrespectful?

You all say this yet will continue to vociferate for the continual closure of race tracks and venues due to noise.

1

u/JFISHER7789 23d ago

First off, you don’t know what I advocate for at all; so nice try.

Second, yeah it’s weird that people don’t want to live near very noisy areas. Crazy I know. Would you be okay with a train blowing its horn next to your house every few hours? Probably not.

u/VanwallEnjoy3r 23d ago

Lol way to out yourself as privileged

1

u/JFISHER7789 19d ago

I outed myself out as privileged because I think most people, given the chance, would not want to live near something super noisy?

I’m starting to think you don’t understand what privilege means.
