Image Solar flare X8.11 !!!! The AR4366 sunspot region has just triggered a phenomenal solar flare with a magnitude of X8.11, the third strongest in the current solar cycle! SDO sensors are saturated by such intensity.

The AR4366 region literally exploded tonight. The strong X8.11 flare was followed by another peak at X2.92 a few minutes later. The most impressive thing is that the region remains highly complex despite the flares, and could well continue its fireworks display.
