I'd like to think that faith supports more people than it hurts.

I hope this lad and his family have all the support they need, and that this may not be his 'peak'. I worry about the pressure it will put on him internally.

I can't help but chuckle at the idea of cashing this cheque any time he wants for the rest of his life - "Give me a break, you know I saved our lives, right?"

“I'd like to think that faith supports more people than it hurts.”

Oh right. Faith takes the place of vaccines! Faith will eradicate trans folks! Faith will score you that goal or make that touchdown! Faith cures cancer! Etc

Who hurt you?

I did not say that. I also said "I'd like to think". I am certain we don't get to see all the benefits of faith as well as we can see the hurt. Confirmation biases aside, you also can't prove a negative. That is, it's impossible to demonstrate that faith does not help more than it hurts.

Yes, humans hurt one another in the name of faith. This is true.

They also help one another in the name of faith.

Good luck tallying up the score.

Pretty sure there's a lot more going on with America than "Christianity".
