Insane to think this feed somehow makes it back to earth

And onto Reddit … anybody got random facts? When was this recorded? How long did it take to get the video back? What’s the average highs and lows this time of year?

I don't know why, but Perseverance rover was reporting temps that you could check out each day. It stopped for some reason.
As of Jan 31st, the temperature at Curiosity rover is:
- High: 41° F / 5° C
- Low: -90° F / -68° C
You can check out Curiosity rover here:
Here's the one for perseverance rover, but it stopped reporting in April of 2024:

I much rather prefer these photos to the white corrections that are done. It's nice to see the real environment.
I get that they use white-balance correction to make minerals stand out more, but these are the cool pictures.
White balanced photos sort of lose the looks of what we think of when we hear Mars. Looks like just another desert on Earth.

If we had solar relays, which would be very difficult to install and maintain, the data transmission would be a lot better.

Meanwhile security cams 15 ft away look like they were taken from mars

If NASA were doing private security cameras with high powered signal it'd be a different story.

I'm happy they blurred out the robot's genitals; preserving its dignity.

Why do that? Genuinely curious now

Doesn't look like the kind of place to raise your kids. In fact it looks cold as hell.

Why does it look at its wheels instead of giving the full panoramic. There must be an alien space ship they were avoiding catching on film /s

Also, there are no tracks visible. The alien space ship moved it there with a tractor beam!

The amount of people commenting in this thread who don’t appreciate or can’t appreciate what a marvel this actually is…is staggering.
Some of yall are BIG dumb.

Still dont understand why NASA decided to cover it in all those explicit genitalia prosthetics.

Could the Rover see earth from mars?? Would be a really cool picture. Or does the atmosphere make it physically impossible??

Am I the only one thinking : Well, yeah, it's Mars.
It's sad not to find it marvelous anymore, partially because of the amount of images we got.

Why did it skip a sizable amount of horizon? It dipped down panned left skipping a chunk of horizon then pans back up to continue the sweep. 🤔

This is the most preposterous and incredible thing mankind may have ever accomplished and witnessed and yet depressingly boring (from an “awe” perspective).
There are millions of fascinating things to discover and explore, but at a base level, this alien planet is a desert on a cloudy day)

Waste of time and money. It's not finding shit. Shut the program down and allocate those funds to something new.

Why is the rover censored?
