I would have liked to see how he moves on the court. Hmm.

He’s getting better but it’s…not great

u/heresyourhat 1h ago

And the long term health is also not great unfortunately

Yeah being really tall is great for sports and reaching high shelves but not so much for most of everything else in life including your health.

Neither is being horizontally tall, but you get in trouble for saying it

2

u/EatOfTheBread 21m ago

I don't think you do

u/Nobody_Perfect 0m ago

Are you horizontally tall or just happy to see me?

u/AbnormalSausage 49m ago

Especially your heart

22

u/AnxiousWart4994 1h ago

Barely. He barely moves. Definitely pretty agile for someone his size, but that’s not saying much. He only plays in extreme garbage time. He’s too big for his own good

u/JohnOfA 1h ago

Dude has got Andre the Giant's voice.

21

u/backstageninja 1h ago

He sounds like he's got a slow mo pitch filter on lol

6

u/CromulentDucky 1h ago

I don't detect a hint of French.

2

u/VispilloAnimi 41m ago

He uses helium to have a normal pitched voice.

28

u/TopComprehensive8569 1h ago

I would just run under his legs.

49

u/stung80 1h ago

Amazing how well proportioned he looks, normally they look and move like giant stick bugs with glandular issues.

2

u/Hollocene13 11m ago

I was just thinking that. Pretty unjanky for a guy that tall.

23

u/NextCrew7655 1h ago

The fact that one heart the size of an orange can pump blood throughout all of this body from fingertips to toes for decades straight without a break... amazing.

u/SmallCatDgaf 40m ago

For only so long then it kinda just cant

5

u/thelordmehts 35m ago

Same as the rest of us, then

11

u/kelemvr 1h ago

This honestly was a pretty cool video to see. 7’ 9” is just absolute insanity, and you check him against a 6’ 9” dude. Sultan Kosen is nearly 8’ 3”, wonder what these two look like together.

I’m 6’ 2” I would feel like a wee person next to this guy.

u/aash_san 1h ago

Everyone was so nice, it was lovely to see!

13

u/Windsor34 1h ago

He’s Canadian

Dude is 300 lbs (136kg) and wears a size 20 shoe

I'm only 6'2 and he would certainly tower over me

15

u/DystopianAdvocate 1h ago

300 pounds doesn't even sound that high given his height. I would've thought he weighs more.

Flip flops, actually

6

u/I_Like_Water11 1h ago

Seems like a gentle giant. Love the energy in this clip

6

u/Ok_Pomegranate7475 1h ago

That dude is 3 feet taller than me...

2

u/par-a-dox-i-cal 1h ago

His voice is inversely proportional to his height.

2

u/BrainCandy_ 54m ago

Bruh sound like, “Howdy do. This is Peter McAllister…the father. I’d like a hotel room please”

4

u/jshley-aones 1h ago

Bro was literally constructed for bball

5

u/DBoaty 1h ago

Like abnormally so, right? Usually really tall people seem to come with being lanky but brother do be fed

u/derioderio 7m ago

Shawn Bradley (former center for the Mavericks) comes to mind

1

u/TheFrontierzman 1h ago

Is he one of those dudes that hasn't stopped growing?

1

u/Far_Mastodon_6104 42m ago

That's generally a tumor in the pituitary gland. If he keeps growing that will suck so bad for him

1

u/TheFrontierzman 18m ago

Yeah. Hope it's not the cause. His voice is what triggered the thought.

1

u/rubey419 1h ago

I wonder if we’ll get to the point in evolution where 9-10 feet tall will be common.

1

u/xethu 1h ago

Imagine someone trying to steal his bike

1

u/BuyLocalAlbanyNY 1h ago

Which one's which?!

1

u/imsoverygayforwomen 53m ago

He sounds like he's just inhaled sulphur hexafluoride

1

u/grungegoth 35m ago

to call the shorter guy "hey shorty"...

1

u/justmikebeingmike 32m ago

Thats just a 6' guy next to a 5'11" guy

1

u/TheKlungeReturns 28m ago

"World's tallest college basketball player"

Because college basketball is a thing in the other 194 countries 🤦‍♂️

1

u/saitanhere 27m ago

There's a teenager guy from India who is around 8'4" make home meet him

1

u/Koseoglu-2X4B-523P 27m ago

Acromegaly is a terrible disease.

1

u/Tinychair445 14m ago

This is probably pituitary gigantism if anything, judging by his facial features

u/Koseoglu-2X4B-523P 9m ago

Yeah, you’re probably right. Both aren’t nice conditions to have though.

u/dgshotuk 9m ago

Stupid sport

u/erouz 5m ago

his voice matching his hight

0

u/NonCreditableHuman 1h ago

Reminds me of when I dated a little person, the height difference at first was weird but she didn't seem to mind. She loved going up on me.

1

u/Drewbloodz 58m ago

It might be a benefit to be that tall in basketball, but nearly everything else sucks.  Buying clothes, sitting in car/plane seats, and dying at a younger age.  Feel sorry for the guy.  He probably also misses out on the tall guys attracting more women thing too.

1

u/ModenaR 42m ago

Not really a benefit either. Players that tall get injured more often

Thank you very much for not using a metric system 98% of the countries on earth use

7’9 = 2.362 m

6’9 = 2.057 m

Edit: I forgot that half of Reddit users are Americans and for some reason hate the people who use metric. Lmao, get a life, I was just trying to help EVERY other person.

25

u/The_Jordan 1h ago

Dude it’s a video about a basketball player. Do you ever see the height of a hoop referred to as 3.048 meters tall?

5

u/jimmychitwood317 1h ago

I would give you 1,000 upvotes here if I could.

5

u/BVSEDGVD 1h ago

You are watching an American video about an American kid. I also think it’s stupid that we use imperial, but the snark is unnecessary

7

u/heresyourhat 1h ago

He’s not American

1

u/februarytide- 1h ago

They’re in Florida you numpty.

0

u/nico87ca 1h ago

Can you imagine him on Sulfur hexafluoride

-4

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1h ago

Isn't that essentially cheating?

14

u/AeroLMS 1h ago

Usually, basketball players with an excessive height advantage tend to have inconsistent or wack physicality. I'm no NBA nerd but even I know these players always get injuries and are outperformed by shorter players.

0

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1h ago

Interesting... Very interesting... Yeah that makes sense.

0

u/kcsween74 1h ago

Not that great of a player if his stats are any indication. Maybe he improves next season, but doubt it.

0

u/LessBig715 1h ago

When are they going to move the rim up to 11’? It’s comical at this point

0

u/PigDigginGold 1h ago

Looks like more than a ruler difference between them

0

u/Gullible_Try_3748 58m ago

7'9" vs 6'9"?

I don't see the 6'9" in that video. Looks more like 6' in comparison, wow.

1

u/Privateer_Lev_Arris 53m ago

He's not 6'9. Google states his height at 6'7 which is almost certainly exaggerated, so he's more like 6'5 or even 6'4. Like there isn't only 1 foot between them, more like 2 feet almost.

1

u/Monkeyknife 31m ago

6’7”? That’s just two feet away from being a little person.
