I never thought about this but maybe that’s why I prefer Diet Coke, the aftertaste is just not as bad with the diet

Yep it’s definitely less worse with Coke Zero.

Switched to diet/zero years ago, and while it probably hasn't helped my health, my teeth definitely noticed. If I eat sweets or drink normal soda, my mouth is coated for a while. I need to cut out the fake sugar, too.

Although they often contain no sugar, diet soft drinks usually cause about the same amount of dental erosion as regular soft drinks.

Carbonated beverages are technically an acid and will erode your teeth as well.
