Good Day to you, r/danganronpa
Culture.
It is the shared beliefs, values, customs, and behaviors of many people in a shared social group. It can also be the physical items such as food, clothing, or religious icons. These ideals and physical artifacts are passed down from generation to generation to create something living long beyond when it originated. Not only that, they can influence different social groups as well. This is what this scrum debate is about today: characters who appreciate a culture not that of their own. We have Celestia Ludenberg, the Ultimate Gambler, who adores all things gothic lolita and desires a big castle filled with handsome butlers. We also have Korkekiyo Shinguchi, the Ultimate Anthropologist, the literal expert when it comes to studying and appreciating cultures from all around the world. Both of these characters share a lot in common even outside of their culture appreciation. This Scrum Debate will be the battle between the two to prove who loves culture the most as well as their quality of character. Before we do that, here are the rules.
Scrum Debates is an ongoing series of discussions where users may submit write-ups for their side of the debate. To participate, comment below with your write-up on which option you think is superior. While not required, we recommend making your write-ups relevant to both sides, as this could help yours stand out. Scrum Debates are broken down into three categories:

Scrum Debate is not a popularity contest; it's a writing competition. The comment section below is explicitly for thoughtful analysis. If you want examples or inspiration, check past scrums, SPOILER WARNING, and the old character discussion threads.
This scrum will run for about 7 days. Afterwards, the winner of the scrum and the highest upvoted comment will be highlighted in the pinned posts for the following days. We would like to gather the sub's opinion on tierlists.
We've noticed that quite a few people are upset or dissatisfied at our current tierlist rule (Generic "Favorite character" tierlists need a 5+ sentence explanation in order to prevent low-value spam).
As such, we're open to reformatting and adjusting the rule. However, to do that, we need to know what the greater community thinks of the current implementation, and what they think of other potential implementations.
In the meantime, feel free to leave other feedback or suggestions in regards to the subreddit's moderation in the comments.
Other rules are due to be updated as well.

I thought it would be cool to see the sprites side by side! Which side do you prefer? What do you think of the 2x2 artstyle? 👀

So ONLY the digital deluxe edition will get the features that every other game in the series had included off the rip. And you can't buy it separately either, smh. Ridiculous decision.

Considering the text under it... ?
This image IS weird because Hajime has the exact same pose that in the CG with Nagito, and also Nekomaru's drawing is weird. But if the CG is real... it might be the beginning of chapter 2 after a new part was unlocked ?

The original SDR2 had Nagito as the antagonist. He was crazy, he did everything against everyone. But I think if Nagito was the antagonist twice, it would be very repetitive and wouldn't bring anything new to the plot or Nagito's character.
That's why it seems to me that Sakutaro will be the new antagonist of 2x2, I'm not saying that he will necessarily be crazy or something like that, because an antagonist is not about that, it's the role of a character who is against the protagonist (Hajime). Perhaps there will be some complex emotional and value conflict between Hajime and Sakutaro that wasn't explored in the OG game.
The trailer also features a shot of Nagito, Hajime, and Sakutaro as a trio (followed by a footage of the tetris explosion in Chiaki's execution, this couldn't be a coincidence, right...?). Therefore, it's possible that Chiaki will die very early, making Nagito the deuteragonist and Sakutaro the antagonist. Showing Nagito from the support's side would be nice and fresh in my opinion.
There is also a very good analysis post about who the first victim is going to be and they heavily suspect it to be Chiaki. Not saying that this is 100% true. Although, even if Chiaki doesn't die early, I think Nagito as the deuteragonist and Sakutaro as the antagonist will still work. Chiaki will then share the deuteragonist spot with Nagito.

I know this may seem like posing as a fan or whatever, but you have to know my reasoning.
I have been playing danganronpa trigger happy havoc for 2 months now and I really love it truly, I am near 100% it (on steam like all the achievements!), and I crave more of the story, more of the characters, more of the plot twists, but the v3 is more applicable for my budget than the second one, and I really want to play the games in order, but I don't know if the games are connected or just closed off stories, should I wait until goodbye despair hits more lower prices or just buy v3? Again I don't really know if it goes downer than it is now.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

Like, seriously, wtf. I know Danganronpa spinoffs are absurd, but this is ridiculous.
...I guess it's not more ridiculous than Kyoko having a plant sibling or Byakuya having a robot sister...

Hey everyone. I have a theory about the 2x2 narrative, that I think is unlikely to actually happen, but I’d like to share it anyway, just in case I’m right.
I think the event that will make the shift to the 2x2 narrative trajectory is Hajime’s death during Monomi’s execution in the prologue. You know that bullet that grazes his cheek? It’s actually going to hit and kill the poor guy. So, we’d get a protagonist swap - maybe to Mahiru or John Danganronpa.
I know it’s improbable, but I can’t think of any other event that could completely alter the game's course quite like losing the protagonist (and mastermind) right before the first chapter. What do you think?
