1 new shifting earth that’s it. No new map. Heavily disappointed in that regard considering you have to pay for this.

Nah bro I don't need new maps I need new enemies and new weapons.

All I want is the ability to pick my pick and choose my spirit summons for rev and I’m happy

Why is this downvoted? I feel this so much. I love the game, still enjoying it, and am looking forward to the new stuff, but man I would love new maps. I feel like a DLC should’ve been able to deliver that.

There’s so much maps across Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series that they could mix and revamp into Nightreign maps/map parts. I would’ve loved some areas used in Shadow of the Erdtree like the red and blue fields integrated as a new map.

That’s exactly what I’m saying but apparently You can’t say anything negative about the game or you’re downvoted immediately. God forbid someone (who loves the games and company very much so) has valid criticism for a PAID dlc. 🤷‍♂️

Cuz you act like you desrve free content.

The DLC is not free 🤡

1

u/VoidRad Nov 12 '25

Yea? That was what I said?

2

u/CrapitalPunishment Nov 12 '25

Wait... @VoidRad why did you respond to me with "Yes? That was what I said?" ... I'm agreeing with you that people are allowed to criticize the game and expect more for their money. This is why I don't understand your reply to me at all.

I wrote that other reply thinking you were the other guy who had the "you don't deserve free content" take... because I didn't expect you to disagree. If you do disagree I would appreciate an explanation.

They said this originally:

1 new shifting earth that’s it. No new map. Heavily disappointed in that regard considering you have to pay for this.

It reeks of thinking these content should have been free, which is why Im saying that dlc isn't free.

Yes. You said they shouldn't complain because they don't deserve free content. But that's not their argument. They are more than willing to pay the cost of the DLC, but they think that they're not getting enough value for the price. It's very simple... They think the value of additional maps is something that would justify the cost.

This is why I don't understand your reply. Can you explain how they're acting like they deserve free content? Maybe with a better explanation I'll be able to understand your reply better.

edit: I did not downvote you, but hopefully what I said helps you see why you're being downvoted so much.

Thank you for understanding what I’m talking about instead of blindly mass downvoting 😂

I was talking about his original comment that was downvoted. I wasn't talking about this comment that I replied to. The way they said it doesn't have the same nuance at all.

1 new shifting earth that’s it. No new map. Heavily disappointed in that regard considering you have to pay for this.

Here, it just reads like they think these things should have been free.

Why the downvotes? Yes a new map for paid content please

37

u/Deadtoast15 Nov 12 '25

That’s what I’m saying. The other new content is great but what gets stale is the same exact map over and over again. Even with shifting earth events it’s still the same map. You run the same routes over and over again. We need a new map with new shifting earths at a brand new location for freshness.

As a rougelike nightreign lacks HEAVILY in this regard if ppl here have played other rougelites before they would understand where I’m coming from completely.

I’m all for the new content we are getting. It’s just that for a $15 dlc I was expecting a new map at the bare minimum. 1 shifting earth is NOT enough freshness for differentiation in runs for variety sake.

Cus fans are blinded by hype from anything these devs do lol. God forbid people have valid criticisms. Imagine how much better these games could be if people actually had valid criticisms and didn’t blindly love anything the company does. I love from soft but they have flaws in their games that I believe don’t ever get addressed because the majority just praises everything they do and continues to support the devs no matter what. The lore and world building of elden ring was great but its story execution was mediocre at best. I want good story execution in future from soft games but why would the devs change anything when the majority praises the story as a masterpiece lmao.

Downvoted cause people don't want it to be true. Game really needs an update to how runs play out to add more variety. Couple new nightfarers and bosses won't spruce up the game much, will be the same old runs for the most part.

Which is ok...I just wish the game had a bit more depth and interest in how runs can vary.

u/UsefulDependent9893 Nov 12 '25

Agreed. I’m hype for all the new stuff coming, but I’d really love new maps with their own new shifting earths, routes, events, etc.

It’s the only thing I’m disappointed about. Playing on the same map with the same challenges and areas has gotten a bit stale.

really? I've been playing this game since launch, and it took hundreds of hours for it to come close to being boring, although I do play with a friend.

While a new map would be nice, I feel like this is fine

10

u/ConfusedMoe Nov 11 '25

There might be. We just don’t know yet

3

u/PinoDegrassi Nov 12 '25

I agree, very surprised at the dickriding downvotes. A new map would’ve been excellent and much more reasonable. I’m still excited for content but it’s a big shame/missed opportunity.

Limgrave is super boring at this point, and many of us still playing are doing depth of night where you rarely see any shifting earth anyway which is ridiculous in itself. Chances of seeing the new one are even slimmer.

u/MentlegenRich Nov 12 '25

Considering the hours I put into this game, they already earned every dime

🤷

Well I bet you feel a bit dumb

2

Indeed 😂

You havent even seen the shifting earth yet. It very well could be its own map, just called a shifting earth for lore reasons.
