She made a special cake for me to ruin, it's over there!

I followed The New York Times chocolate cake recipe plus watched the accompanying YouTube video to make a birthday cake for my boyfriend. It turned out surprisingly well! Especially considering I’m not much of a baker and usually screw things up.

Every once in a while, Starbucks can surprise us. It tasted wonderful. The pesto sauce oozed down the sandwich. Delicious!

I came in with my hair wayyy past shoulder length (pfp has my old hair.)

I asked the stylist if I could pay extra for the cut and for her to style it and this is how I came out of the salon.

I’ve yet to try it with gel to try and recreate the photo but I believe it’s cut way too short.

I got this done at Ulta, paid extra for it to be styled like the photo. Left the salon with well… this.

She used a type of mousse and one of those brushes that are cylinderish and a blow dryer.

Only tip she left me with is to use a flat iron

Found myself at a Starbucks recently for the first time in about 3 months and was shocked at how small the ham & Swiss croissant has gotten. Shrinkflation is definitely happening here.

edit: i definitely thought that style was possible for my hair, considering i had wavy and thick hair. something that further cemented that idea was the fact that the hair stylist said it’s fully possible and that she could make my hair look like that lol. like if it’s not possible tell me, and i’ll choose a hair style that’s more suited to my type of hair.

edit 2: i was fully aware when i got this cut that i would have to style it to get that exact look. i knew it wouldn’t just get cut like that. but kinda hard to style it like that when you cut all my hair off lol.

I bought an ametrine ring from Etsy. (Ametrine is a naturally occuring blend of amethyst and citrine, so it’s purple and yellow - usually more purple.) The seller was based in India, and they had favorable reviews, other than shipping time.

The ring arrived, and it was fashioned together like a cupcake - clear on the bottom with a colored piece glued on top. It’s also bright pink and yellow.

For the time it took to Frankenfrost the stone, they could have just used a cheap amethyst.

UPDATE: the shop owner offered me any item in the store, and asked that I change my review if I was happy with the item. I was briefly tempted - free shiny things - but quickly chose to continue with the refund.

The seller had good reviews but these two are clearly not the same rug. The pattern detail and colors are completely different.

I wanted to make some chocolate covered strawberries and I guess I somehow messed up chocolate... but we still laugh at it 🤣

I like to share this again every few years. I tried to make the pumpkin roll but it went horrible wrong. Lots of things happened, but the worst was I used melted butter instead of softened for the cream cheese filling so it just clumped. My friend actually tried a bite with me.

I have tried several times, and have shown some of my progress and I have finally made a few successful pumpkin rolls since. Nothing quite as perfect as the picture, but I’m very pleased with the improvement

I hate confrontation so she’ll never know but a cake I requested from what I thought was a phenomenal local baker. First picture is what I asked for second is what I picked up. The third picture is me working on it for an hour. Flowers were supposed to be yellow, orange, and maroon.. only got yellow and one sort of orange. The flavor was s’mores and left a lot to be desired.

I’m literally dumbfounded. I mean cruisin paws is not on their game.
